      I can't help you much there unfortunately. I got one directly from Evolve (picked it up at their HQ in Spain). I did however pay in full of course.

      Kyle Ewell Oh yes sir. I ordered it on Friday 11/4/16. Because I ordered it that day and they don't work over the weekend, it was processed and shipped on Monday 11/7/16. I live in California and it took two days to get here so it arrived Wed night 11/9/16. They ONLY ship UPS ground which is the free shipping. I called about that because I wanted like over night shipping or what not. They said choosing any other option but the free shipping will be throwing your money away. It just depends where you live in the US and how long it'll take. They have a Shipping FAQ on the site. I do have to say this is the most fun I have ever had in my life. Takes off like a Tesla. 0 to 20mph in two seconds.
      EDIT: So if if you order it, CHOOSE THE FREE SHIPPING!

    Great review! Thanks for sharing :-) I got mine last Thursday and went to work on it on Friday, about 5 mile commute, absolutely loved it! I've ordered now the AT wheels. I understand your comment about waterproof for commuting but I can use my bike or car w hen that happens and rely on the board for the rest of the days. Besides I think the AT wheels will last longer for commuting that the street ones and boosted doesn't have that option.

    • @Tomassively
      @Tomassively  Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks ignarg007!
      Glad you like it.
      Yeah, if you have a car or similar for when it's raining, that's great of course. :) But what happens when you took the board to work, and it's raining when you're going home? Would be so much better if the damn thing was water resistant! :o
      I hope you're happy with the board, and that you can do a lot of communting on it! Saves you money, makes it more fun and better for the environment.

  • @SimonParkerUK
    @SimonParkerUK Před 7 lety +1

    Had the same board now for about a month. With the AT (All Terrain) wheels. A few comments to those that may be interested.
    With the AT Wheels:
    It's much faster than the Boosted board, and has a further range (I think). But range is dependent on the wheels used. I've used the all terrrain wheels and can get on ECO mode (4 modes to choose, Slow, Eco, Fast and GT) around 17km out of it. That involves a couple of short hills. Range is weight dependent of course so the heavier you are the less range. I'm 71kg.
    Regarding the waterproof issue. They are not waterproof, but then neither are the Boosted boards. Though I do think the boosted boards handle water better. You can on the Evolve ride it through wet street and pavements as I've done quite often, and thats ok, but not through standing water, eg puddles. I've been through a few without issue but avoid them if possible. The BIG issue with wet streets especially with the all terrain wheels is the spray. YOU WILL GET FILTHY. The tyres kick up all the water and mud and stuff covering your trailing leg and shoes with all sorts of crap. Not a problem with the regular street wheels though.
    With Street Wheels:
    Much firmer ride that the AT wheels, more like a traditional longboard. But note the range is much further too. With the AT wheels the range is about 15-20km, with the street wheels its 35-40km. Tested that on my normal route and where doing 17km with the AT wheels leaves me almost dead battery, I had 60% left doing the same route with the street wheel setup. So take that in mind when deciding which board to get.
    It's all to do with the resistance of the wheels and their size. Street wheels it rolls much easier but AT wheels is great for uneven ground such as cobblestones or uneven path in a forest.
    Either wheels are great fun, highly recommended. Insanely fast. Raced a chap on a push bike up a hill and he ran out of steam while i was cruising it at 25km/h. He couldn't believe it. Steep hill too.
    As for the 4 modes. Slow is great for starters, or along pavements if the boards are illegal where you are. Bare that in mind its not legal in some places to use them as often classed as a motorized vehicle and need lights, license, insurance etc. Slow mode has a lower top speed of around 15km/h and slower acceleration. ECO mode is what I use most of the time. Decent acceleration, top speed around 25km/h and handles hills up to around 20%. Fast mode makes me fall off the acceleration is insane, great for steep hills and top speed 35-40km/h. GT mode is scary, same top speed but acceleration is mad.

    • @Tomassively
      @Tomassively  Před 7 lety

      Thanks for all that Simon! Great info in there. Much appreciated. :)
      I would say in regards to the water issue. The BB V2 IS water resistant, and you can actually ride that in the wet. Puddles, when it's raining etc. That's the big difference, and it is a big difference if you plan on comuniting.
      Couldn't agree more on the "modes".. GT is scary!

    Excellent review man! I'm definitely interested in seeing any videos you have on the evolve skateboard. Your review was brutally honest and made some great points. It took attention to detail to note things like the craftsmanship being just "decent."
    I preordered the Carbon GT yesterday, so I'm interested in seeing if the board has any better craftsmanship. It's the only board that I can commute with, since I have to go 16 miles one way.
    Keep up the vlogs and great content! You've inspired me to post more videos.

    @lochnessmonster4518 Před 7 lety

    Your vlogs are very well done Tomassively!! Here's an idea for a future vlog which I would love to see. The concept is "How to waterproof your Evolve GT board". I know the lack of water resistence is a downer for many riders including myself. Items you can use to help you water-proof your board include the following:
    1) O-rings for the screws, espcially the deck screws
    2) Nanoprotech water proofing spray - conformal. Use this for all circuity and outlets. Do NOT spray on either the bluetooth receiver or transmitter antenna
    3) Seal n Peal clear temporary caulking. Use this for sealing the gap between the deck cover and deck, along with places such as the area around power button etc...
    Some of the ideas were from the evolve forums. I should be receiving my Carbon GT the first week of December and will be performing the above steps to my own board. I don't plan to ride it under water or anything but this should help protect a rather expensive board when you get caught in the rain.

      Thanks for the suggestion Lochness!
      I would love to try that. I think the biggest problem will be the motors, and I don't see a smart way of waterproofing those. Have any ideas? :o

    • @lochnessmonster4518
      @lochnessmonster4518 Před 7 lety +1

      I do have some ideas. The motors are brushless and by design they are actually already pretty water resistant. In fact they work very well under water. What becomes an issue is that the bearings inside the motor are not, so to counter that you can use full ceramic bearings or stainless steel bearings that are low in carbon. And as basic maintenance you can also have a can of WD40 handy and give a quick blast inside the motor housing after each wet ride. One thing I would not suggest doing is covering the motor holes as suggested by someone on the forums. I'm fairly certain that those holes play a significant part in helping to cool the motors. Hope this helps. :-)

    Hi Tomass, nice review, I got mine a few days ago and I find that the bushings that come with the board are a bit soft and when you get some speed the board becomes quite nervous. What do you think? Have you try to change the bushings? Thanks

    Thanks for the review. The best one I've seen so far considering I'm in pretty much exactly the same position as you. I live in the UK and I've never rode a board in my life so felt a bit nervous ordering the Boosted V2 but confident that everyone said you can learn on it. My walk to work is only 10 minutes and I could replace it with commute on the board but not sure if I will. Given the delays on the release of the V2 I started looking into alternatives and the All Terrain wheels of the Evolve GT made me think it might be a better option. I mostly want the board for riding along the promenade and going on adventures at the weekend instead of commuting so the Evolve might be a better option for me. I'm concerned that the street wheels on the Boosted (Especially in the UK with our uneven tarmac pavements/roads) could be a potentially lethal combination. The AT wheels on the Evolve look much safer and much more able to cope with this kind of terrain.
    Basically I think I want to cancel my BB V2 order and move to Evolve but I need someone to validate my decision.

    • @Tomassively
      @Tomassively  Před 7 lety

      Thanks Matthew! I'm happy you liked the review!
      Well, I would point out as I said in the video, that the Evolve board is not ideal for commuting, mainly because it isn't water resistant. And a board that can't deal with water in the UK for commuting? Phew... And the AT wheels sure are amazing. But one thing I have learned that I didn't mention in the video is, that the normal street wheels, actually are quite easy to ride, even when the roads aren't perfect. But as soon as you introduce them to curbs, big holes, and very rough surfaces, they're no good.
      But to have fun? It's a no-brainer. Evolve is absolutely amazing.
      Personally, I will be ordering a BB V2 as soon as they get it all sorted.
      I hope that helped a little. If you have any questions, don't hold back Matthew. :)
      Have a great weekend!

    I'm off to college soon and I wish I could suffice with a boosted board. But the main reason I want the evolve GT is cause... my school's on a hill, and it has no dorms. Really great review man, seriously. I've just stumbled upon this company and it seemed to good to be true. You answered a lot of the questions I had. I love the all-terrain wheel idea to be able to veer off the paved to grass, gravel, ect and keep on riding. It seems like a great board but they really do need to iron some stuff out. I have big hopes for Evolve in the next versions to come. I feel we are on the ground floor of e-boards and it's just going to get crazier. My friend ordered me a Boosted Board V2 before Christmas and it's now almost May and I still don't have it (he got his) so that is shitty. I've rode his boosted board and it's badass. Well anyways thanks again. Most reviews suck ass about these boards but this one is top notch!!

Took it on a 25km ride in -1Celcius with slightly wet roads, and it really surprised me how well it handled and how the battery held up. Biggest downfall for me at least, is the sag. I would not advocate B. B. being waterproof or water resistant their newer version has major issue with water getting into batteries.. they stopped shipping of these.. and suggested all not to ride the boards before they can fix it.. I'm sure they will their boards are awesome.. with the AT wheels on E-Boards you want to get off road so mix of dust, water etc will get everywhere.. so it's good to open the case put some silicon around the cover to stop the water in but also put some silica gels to absorb the humidity.. all these gadgets will eventually break.. like a car or any other stuff.. if you keep them clean and maintain them well they will last longer.. wheels will go first, then the power train.. ultimately battery and remote will have to be also replaced.. but if you commute to work and use as commuter instead of car.. you save time.. and money and you have fun.. I love the 97 Wheels on those but AT are the best part of course... The Bamboo feels more like longboard. and way better to turn than B.B.. they are harder to turn.. both GT and bamboo are better in turning.. I hate riding boards when it rains.. no question.. I hate riding bikes. my kick scooter (swifty) or any other things such roller blades, in-lines . in that case I rather walk.. once you get hands on B. B.. you will love all over again with your bamboo.. might even change the review.. (no one paid me)

    I just ordered the Carbon GT 2 in 1 a few days ago. And since I live in Spain too I probably get mine fast. (Ordered from Evolve UK, Got the last board on preorder, they have a warehouse in Spain they ship from.)
    Where did you order your board? And how fast did you get it?
    Do you know if the waterproofing is the same on the carbon as the bamboo?
    Hope its at-least water resistant....

      I ordered directly from Evolve in Spain. However, they aren't shipping here yet, but the guys at Evolve in Tarifa Spain, was nice enough to give me a board before time. So I picked it up personally at the HQ.
      The water proofing is the same on the carbon. They do not like water I'm afraid. I would suggest that you steer clear of all water, even small puddles. :( But hey, that's not that big of a deal here in Spain. ;)
      And thanks! I'm glad you like the videos!

    Thank you for an awesome review. Best one I've seen so far. You can't have spare batteries on the Evolve, right? That's the only thing that would make me choose Evolve over Boosted right now. Although I love the AT wheels on Evolve.
    Aaand I guess it will be pure pain to get a Boosted imported to Norway. Fuck, I'm confused now. Difficult choice...

      Hi Morten!
      Thank you so much!
      Yeah, no easy-change batteries for the Evolve boards. :( You can buy battery packs for it, but you need to take the cover off etc. Only really for replacing the battery.
      Yeah, import a BB to EU now is almost impossible, as they're only just starting to ship in the US. When BB finally starts shipping to the EU, it should be easy enough. :)

    I've had plenty practice with these types of boards and one thing remains in common with most. Never use the throttle from stand still. Always push off for momentum then use the throttle and you won't fall. These are NOT trick boards. When has a long board ever been used for tricks except by stubborn people who won't learn and don't care about their safety. Long boards are for cruising. These boards were actually designed for local city travel and that last leg of travel after publice transportations. I personally think it's great for people who live in rural area where their is no bus. Just a thought. But if you can't get an extra battery and a quick charger on a quick change board then the idea is pointless.

  • @lifestyletechnology221

    Hi thinking of buying this board I've never ride a board. Want to use for fun I find the price is crazy expensive but for it's battery speed longboard and large wheels do you think it's worth buying or would you buy a mavic pro drone

    Nice review! I think you would have been happier with the carbon gt, build quality is awesome!! The bamboo is great too, but its made of bamboo & plastic, not molded carbon fibre😊 Comparing your bamboo to boosted, thats fair enough, but if you had the carbon, you'd see that there is no comparison. Their in a league of there own. Happy riding😉

      Maybe a carbon will be my board one day. :) Happy to hear the build quality is slightly better on that. Still not water resistant though, and the remote is the same. :(

    • @daveo544
      @daveo544 Před 7 lety +2

      The Carbon GT isn't slightly better, its incredible, a work of art, hence the extra $$!! The hand controller is obviously a matter of opinion, I think it serves its purpose well and haven't got a problem with it, I can see why you would consider it flimsy, but its never caused me any problems and is very reliable. This is after all an expensive adults toy (or kids with rich parents) & needs to be treated as such. As far as waterproof goes, well I have a mobile phone which is rated to 2 meters underwater, I'm not exactly going to have a shower with it though or take underwater photos. Same with the GT, why you would even consider taking a $1500+ ELECTRIC skateboard out in the rain (waterproof or not) is beyond me, why tempt fate? We are after all talking about a battery, circuits, wiring and brushless motors, none of which have ever favoured well under water. If it looks like rain, take the car😊 The GT is miles ahead of the competition and the foundation upon which all future boards will have to compare, cant wait to see what comes out in the years ahead 😉

      @Tomassively  Před 7 lety

      +David Harland point of water resistant is as I mentioned in the video, commuting. Not a big problem for me, but then Evolve useless for commuting. That's when I'd go for the BB. :)

    Great review. I own a Bamboo GT Street as well and am thinking about purchasing AT Wheels
    IF you could answer me a few questions about the AT Setup, I would be very grateful. I plan on building a wall mount and want to make sure the AT Setup would fit as well:
    1. What is the diameter of the AT Wheels (fully inflated) (perferably in cm)
    2. What is the distance between the AT Wheels (middle of the left AT Wheel to middle of the right AT Wheel)
    3. What is the width of one AT Wheel
    4. What is the distance between the top of the Bamboo-deck and the floor (board with AT Wheels on)
    Thanks so much in advance and keep up the good work

    • @Tomassively
      @Tomassively  Před 7 lety +1

      Absolutely Dominik! I broke out my measure and did a few measurements for you.
      1. Little less than 17 cm.
      2. 26 cm.
      3. 5cm at it widest point.
      4. About 15,5cm. The board curves, so this is at the highest point.
      I have made a video about the wall mount I did. That might help.
      Anytime. Cheers. :)

      @FloridianBrony Před 7 lety

      They've tested it apparently it hold up good against gutter run-off and sprinkler splash.
      this is from their site:
      in testing, the board held up quite well to instances of water (gutter
      run-off, sprinkler plash). However due to the greater issue that comes
      with wet conditions - slippery surfaces - we have decided not to state
      waterproofing a priority feature in our design. A greater priority to
      Evolve is safe use of our boards. With the power available from the GT,
      combined with slippery conditions, our testing showed high potential for
      involuntary safety risks using electric skateboards in wet conditions.
      For this reason, we strongly advise against use in wet environments.

    • @Tomassively
      @Tomassively  Před 7 lety

    • @mastermoritz1
      @mastermoritz1 Před 7 lety

      That definetly makes sence but I stil wanna carry it around like a normal longboard. Do you think that this would be posible even witht he AT wheels? Cause I got the Yuneec E-Go2 atm and I can carry it easyly. So i am afraid if I get the AT wheels it might be too big to actually cary around.

    • @Tomassively
      @Tomassively  Před 7 lety

      +Blindgamer LP well, there's definitely a difference but mostly just in bulkyness. I recently switched back to street and it is a lot easier to carry around. But when that's said, it's heavy no matter what! Not something I'd carry to far.

      Primarily because of the water resistance of the BB's. And they do ride a lot smoother, thinking of throttle and brake.

  • @VT4
    @VT4 Před 6 lety

    You do realize that it needs the gaps/space so that you can actually flex the board right?
    I own a BB Dual plus and it has the exact same gaps to allow the board to flex.
    Also The BB has dealt with battery issues, trucks braking (on the v2 where they make the trucks themselfs) so I'm not convinced that Boosted's build quality is any better then evolves lol.
    Thinking of moving on from my boosted board to a carbon gt.
    The boosted board (even when the extend range battery comes out in 2045) just isn't enough for me if I want to ride more then 1 hour.
    For anyone else watching I wouldn't listen to this guys thoughts on the boosted board, he probably hasn't ever even seen one in person lol.

  • @adolfshitler8341

    It is well engineered, they didn't create the gts for easy acceleration and a simple cruisy feeling, gt: Gran Tourismo.. you've seen gran tourismo racing it's intense, fast. I'm only talking about the performance, not the actual build quality, I don't like how slapped together the bamboo is but the carbon solves that problem.
