This was a great interview. I did buy the audio book version of her book. Where I work we are permitted to wear earbuds and listen to whatever, and when I started listening I could not stop-on the way to and from work, while at work and all my spare moments at home, until I was done. Highly recommend it-scary as hell.
After my nearly 70 years, I cannot believe how little people know this, in part or whole. It's changed a little (not much) ... more with respect with the current geopolitical landscape. And people have so little connection to this.
The terms "Launch on Warning" and "Launch 'em or Lose 'em" phrases were used in "The Day After" (1983) made for TV movie. For an ICBM to reach Pyongyang, North Korea it must overfly Vladivostok, Russia and the Yanbian Prefecture in China. How does Russia and China know if our missile is for Pyongyang and not for Vladivostok or the Yanbian Prefecture? Does that mean if we launch missiles towards North Korea then Russia and China launch theirs against us?
I personally like Jacobson and I’ve read a couple of her books. However, I think in this case she’s been interviewing people who don’t necessarily know what they’re talking about or they’ve been deliberately giving her incorrect or outdated info. The Russians can detect missile launches and trajectories just as well as we can and the notion they’d mistake an American strike on North Korea as an attack on Russia is pretty far fetched. And you don’t need to talk to Putin on the phone, they are plenty of Russian diplomats inside the US who have direct comms to senior people inside the Kremlin.
Not completely in complete disagreement with her, but she is only counting on our land based, not our submarines, and airplanes Launched (especially the brand new Mako missile are nuclear capable) can be launched from many airplanes including inside the f22, f35, and a few other airplanes and are more than enough to annihilate N Korea so no we do not have to go over the Artic. The power of these Makos are lso much more powerful than the the 2 dropped on japan so her idea is really out of date. Not saying it wouldn't happen, but chances are if N Korea launched at us chances are extremely low we would overfly Russia because the chances of that catapulting us into WW3 with Russia is just too high, especially with the new security pact with Russia & N Korea. So with my knowledge and I won't say how, why, or how much knowledge I have on the subject is mute. But please don't unnecessarily fear Americans that if N Korea would send 4-10 which is in their predicted range they have that will actually work. So no way would we over fly Russia to hit North Korea. This is the exact reason we have the nuclear triad. So we could utilize 2 of those 3 systems and we have those 2 systems( naval carriers, submarines) sitting right on N Korea's front door sitting around S Korea to protect the S Korean people from N Koreans but job leader
No your dead buddy - if we have true global thermal nuclear war and these weapons are deployed the fallout will get you - the air will be hot and radioactive the entire atmosphere will totally dramatically change in 24 hours the sun goes dark good luck to you but your fucked
Yeah. Its so funny to keep a book about nuclear war under a paywall. Like hey, how do you expect to spend this money if you are right. And don't you want more people to read it?
oh it's like The Day After? czcams.com/video/TOPaaHSjMcw/video.html ... and On The Beach? czcams.com/video/1DMbRm7HAQw/video.html ... czcams.com/video/0AbkW1svdTM/video.html ... both old movies now, well due for an update, nice.
You don’t have to buy her book. Just watch all of her book tour guest spots on the podcast circuit.
Exactly! I have no need to read her book now. I have heard her read it in 100s of these interviews.

As a nuclear weapons specialist I’m surprised at what she knows. Impressive.
nukes on nuclear bases goes underground, no "nuclear winter"
We all know very little.
Hahahahaha
tactical nuclear weapons would be used in a case of conflict, and they cause no nuclear winter. all what she said is bs
Sure you are..

The book is on audible
Does she have a book?
Shes correct about a thermonuclear bomb being a two stage weapon, but "it's an atomic bomb inside a nuclear bomb" makes her sound uniformed.
Huh?

Its so scary, listen to me calmly talk about it. Oh, and buy my book before it happens😅😂

Not me, I will survive.

As the saying goes (something like this): “Those who survive the initial blasts will end up envying the dead.”
😁
Buy my book !

You seriously don’t have to mention your book every sentence.
what book?
They’re literally talking about out her book.
If the conversation is about her book, what would you like her to reference then?
Idiot.
It’s almost like she’s promoting her new book, huh?
@@Robelessd Somehow STB doesn't understand that? What a moron.
