[FIX] 3 point lift only goes up on Yanmar YM1700

- My rear 3 point lift would go up as soon as I started the tractor and not go down until I shut it off no matter what direction I had the 3 point control lever in. Turns out one of the interior flow control valves was jammed in the wide open position
Finally got my first tractor a 1970 yanmer 1700. Having this same problem among others. Got my actuator off and wondering if I need a gasket under it when I clean it out
I just saw this comment. I ended up having to replace my entire control valve. It kept getting stuck and eventually I couldn’t unjam it anymore. The replacement I ordered did have a gasket underneath. Whereas my original one had no gasket, so I suspect someone had been under there before

What is the small lever on the left side for(orange)?
It’s for changing the hydraulic speed on the 3 point from fast to slow. It’s actually really surprising how many options these little machines have
That’s the hydraulics valve
Yes, it controls the 3 point hydraulics
Did it work ? Im having issues where my hitch goes up and down but wont stay perfectly in position. It will drop a little then return to the position.
Yes it did work, unfortunately shortly after I fixed it something else broke and now I have no control whatsoever. The previous owner didn’t really take great care of this tractor. Make sure your fluid is full and your screen filter is clear, it sounds like you may have air in the system which could be from contamination of hydraulic fluid
Never had the problem like in the viedo but I have dealt with or seen hitch not wanting to stay in same position or lifting very slow and alot of the times it was the filter basically just a fine screen that was clogged. I have a yanmar 1700 that sometimes acts like it's starving for fuel I cleaned the injectors and injection pump might have fixed it haven't really ran it enough to tell but I am trying to figure out how to adjust the the governor on that thing I have not found anything about how to do that yet.
