The Wyrdeer discussion reminds me of some of encounters I've had with rattle snakes in Arizona. Some people like to think that rattle snakes are choosing to be more quiet around humans because if they rattle then they might get hurt or die, but they could also not be rattling because they are used to humans being around and don't see them as something to warn off. Like when we moved out to a new area where new homes were being built, the snakes would always rattle. But after two decades I think the snakes have adapted to human's presence and are more laid back. Like I've walked by one and didn't notice it until my third time walking past the area of the yard, but it stayed out of the foot path and kept to itself. So it didn't feel threatened and didn't feel like causing a fuss. So there can always be more reasons for changes in animal behaviors after being exposed to humans for prolonged periods of time.

Now that I'm thinking about it; Arceus is just choosing a side in the Trolly problem
Either they don't bring the trainer back, causing humans to keep their distrust of Pokémon, letting Giritina take revenge on Arceus in some form, and allowing the time rift to remain a problem all to keep these regional variants around
Or they intervene, allowing humans and Pokémon to come together as one, stopping Giritina from taking revenge, and sealing the time rift, with the side effect of allowing human civilization to flourish causing the downfall of a few of these regional variants and their environments

It’s interesting that Arceus would keep this up. This game’s Manaphy side quest implies that you exist in a time loop or propagate this history throughout the multiverse. The only reason why you could solve the Sea’s Legend at all is because you read about the story in the future, and then stories were told of your exploits in the past after you completed the first Pokedex. You were reading about your own adventure in the Canalave Library. Basically, Arceus would rather sacrifice Hisuian Pokemon if it means protecting himself and the world from the very real threat of Volo. Every timeline. Every universe.

I feel like the voltorb one could be wrong. considering we can farm apercots, I don't think that we would ever run out. I think that pokeballs got more modern and voltorbs pokeball impersonation got less and less convincing, so it got noticed more and became less efficient. then it slowly evolved over time to match the pokeballs that were being improved on.

    • @KaiserKai16
      @KaiserKai16 Před 2 lety +76

There are three issues with this, however. First, just because we farm a certain product does not ensure that it won't run out. You still have to use the product sustainably. If you use more than you farm, you'll run out eventually.
Second, if the Voltorbs were trying to mimic the old pokeballs in order to hide, this would be a horrible survival tactic. While there are those who went out and used pokeballs, a majority of people wouldn't due to the dangers of wild Pokemon. So any pokeball in the wild would be strange since there aren't enough people using pokeballs to make the appearance normal.
Third, this is a chicken and egg scenario. Did the Voltorb always look like a pokeball, and the people who made the first pokeball modeled it after Voltorb? Or did Voltorb decide for whatever reason to adapt itself to look like a pokeball when it was first being used? I think the first scenario is more likely due to the reasons above.

I guess from Arceus' perspective there's two ways this can go.
Poke Balls already exist by the time you get there. People already have Pokemon. Entire teams even. Humans are expanding. They're going to different regions and seeing what is what. Not particularly well, but they are expanding.
Either Arceus leaves things be where people hate and fear Pokemon.
Or it sends back someone who knows Pokemon are friends, and that person is able to at least dampen some of the damage by allowing more people see that there isn't a reason to fear Pokemon. That they are friends, and can be helpful, and they share the world too.
It's not perfect, but maybe it lays the groundwork for less damage to be done.

This is a bootstrap paradox, it was going to happen anyway, the protag just introduced it sooner than before, plus with the time distortions, pokemon from the future also started appearing much earlier than discovered like the other Eeveelutions. With a higher biodiversity than before, the world of Legends could take drastic deviations from the world of Pokémon before.
Also, with the Pokemon becoming friends far earlier than human industrialization, we can adapt better methods of cohabitating to avoid extinction events. Better more efficient methods which have a significant environmental footprint than the timeline previous. Arceus was playing a mega brain game of chess and just went back to change one move or add another piece and cheat the timeline of events, bringing one child with a love of pokemon early enough to change the future of pokemon forever. His journey making sure to put him into a position of respect to have the power to make the changes necessary for his and future generations.

So lets say the theory is correct, in the pokemon world it is established humans can marry/mate with pokemon making humans in that world related to pokemon. So hear me out...Arceus sends someone back to teach humans in the past that they don't have to be afraid of pokemon. This then allows humans to progress and improve quality of life for humans and pokemon if you think about it. Sure we lost 25 hisuan variations, but how many pokemon evolved/created since humans expanded. This includes digital pokemon like porygon, certain steel types, poison types, etc... So my theory is Arceus wanted someone else to become the care taker of the world, and who better than a species who are setient enough to do so. Now it's not a perfect plan, but I think Arceus made a system for pokemon to continuously increase or get created... and he needed a catalyst, being humans. Pokemon started looking like human made items right? sooooooo in the end Pokemon as a whole had a continuous way to keep surviving in the world thanks to humans ingenuity. Now it's not a perfect system, but it allowed continous growth for both human and pokemon alike.

Isn't that one basically a minor god/force of nature?
In some mythologies minor gods/gods in general die when people no longer believe in them.
Or it could have just gotten sick of electing punishment, and just decidet to leave humans alone all together. No more punishment for disrespecting live, but also no more blessings for new live.

the forces of nature in there Therian Formes are the pokemon's versions of the The Four Symbols from china they viewed as the guardians of the four cardinal directions Black Tortoise of the North=Enamorous it looks like a turtle White Tiger of the West= Landorus it looks like a a big cat Tornadus is the Vermilion Bird of the South and Thundurus is the Azure Dragon of the East. I think that if we get a gen 5 legends game or a gen 5 remake Enamorous will be there in an unexplored northern region of Unova or Palida the new reagion in Scarlet and Violet

The thing is that some pokemon may have evolved, and with that i dont mean individual evolution, but adaptation, like vulpix and ninetales in alola
We dont know how fast that works in the pokemon world, maybe an species can change completely within a millennia or some hundreds of years (i mean, their physical body goes throught a whole changing body within seconds as individuals, pokemon adapt MUCH, MUCH faster than humans)

I think that hissuian growlith could have been the selectively bred into modern growlith, wyrdeer would probably just be shorn like sheep instead of killed and just forgot how to use it over time, and hissuian voltorb in the pokedex said that they would fire off seeds and get would get the hole on top of its head pluged and kick out of town, also pokeballs need the aprocorn SHELLS not the internal parts, like the seeds, even though we don't see aprocorns in the wild in modern sinnoh, that just means that they could be deeper in the wilds and in farms.

maybe sinnoh's history is meant to happen this way and arceus is just just doing this because it is how it was meant to unfold but if the protag was from the same world as the rest of the pokemon series and not the another world as the mega evolution world why not just let dialga do it unless it is that important or because dialga cant speak or use telepathy as arceus can

Imma be real, this theory is kinda made irrelevant by the fact that Hisuian Pokémon appear in the Paldea region due to what I can only assume is time travel. Even before S/V, time travel wasn't out of the ordinary thanks to Dialga and Celebi. Heck, even in Legends we see Pokémon that shouldn't even be obtainable yet due to the STDs like Porygon.
In a universe where Pokémon can be brought backwards and forwards in time, through anywhere in space, and able to exist in forms they likely shouldn't be able to poses for their environment does the idea of "extinction" even really exist?
It's less "extinction" and more of a 200 year disappearing act
