I think the bush obsession is transferring scent from the bush to him and putting his scent on the bushes

My yellow Lab isn't so much scared but get upset about things that aren't "normal". Last year a really large tree was blow over in a big storm and Frankie just couldn't process it. She started to do this "Hmpf" -like bark walking and sniffing, looking back at me as if to say "are YOU responsible for this?". A big yellow shopping bag twirling in the wind, same reaction. Someone was doing a renovation of their bathroom and had the nerve to place a porta-potty on the side walk, well....like...hmpf. Very funny. By the way; spine also made out of rubber.
Your lovely dog bread to be a guardian. He alerts you of the danger. He thinks you are weird for having so many things around heis unfamiliar with. He is precious.
My Bernese "Thor" also loves to rub bushes, afraid of simple objects, and hugs upon arrival also lays in "broken dog" positions...

Absolutely love your Benny, We live in the mountainous Telemark region of Norway and are on our third Bernese after losing Daisy our last one at 10 years of age. All the mannerism's of Benny are identical to our lovely Daisy-doo who is now two years old.
We have seem many of the same quirks with Sydney. She loves walking through the bushes, hates brooms and vacuum cleaners (believes them to be dangerous and barks at them), can contort herself just like Benny does, and of course hates loud noises (fireworks) and any type of storm or thunder; which will result in hiding. She also always tries to take a toy or a ball along with her when we walk. They never cease to entertain!
Oh the bushes...my Bernese rubs on ours, eats all the leaves, and sleeps on them. He's obsessed!!!! And in and out the door to go outside is definitely a thing with him. I think it is a separation issue. He wants to go outside but wants company!
Our two BMDs are almost the same, scared of everything, curious but calm, they love to run between the bushes in the morning, especially when the bushes are still wet and they don't know how much strength they have when trying to hug you and when they are with us they twist like corkscrews
Reesie my Bernese is in love with bushes too! I think it’s because they like the shade. Ours gets separation anxiety too. And then he’ll take pictures off the table and take them to his bed or find our towels or slippers and keep then with him. Yep Reesie is a total a contortionist!
Scaredy-cat Benny seemed to be oblivious that people could be scared of him because of his size...🤣like he could be used as a weapon to win fights but I bet he wags his tail at everyone and just loves everyone even the first he sees them🤣🤣🤣🤣
My daughter just got a Burmese Mountain dog. She named her Phoebe. So cute and she’s made of rubber too.
When my boss told me about Berners, I knew that I had to have one some day. Watching Benny's videos just makes me want one even more. He's such a goof and I adore him for it.

Just a joy to have a bernese. My mixed breed aussie shepherd was really playful but not clingy. Love to watch pple passed by my house n gets excited when other dogs came by in the evenings. Hated the thunder n would hide in a corner. Ha ha.

My dog is a border collie mix… I did a dna, because she’s the most unusual dog I’ve ever seen or had(besides Benny!) she us part Bernese mountain dog. I’ve had 8 plus dogs thru my life abs she does things like Benny I’ve never seen! Your videos showed me why she has these characteristics!! Thnx sooo much!

He’s a silly guy
My BMD was bred several times and while she was a good mom, she was always glad to be home again. She must have missed her puppies on some level though because for months she would carry my husband’s boots around with her.
My boy, Brutus the Berner, does the bush brush and the rubber spine twist thing as well! He hates thunder but isn't afraid of much else. He's definitely a big baby when it comes to couch cuddling. He's on the smaller side like Benny, Brutus is 88lbs at 4.5 years old.

My dad's new puppy goes insane if she doesn't have access to the front door. It's her absolute favorite place to relax and sleep
Oh Yes! Our Berner would be lying on her back rear legs on the right, front legs to the left like totally twisted. And being very comfortable sleeping like that. Miss my Berner. It was such a sweet dog. Only heard her bark three times. Once when she accepted me as the new boyfriend in the house. The second time when she was very playful got really excited. Last time we drove all the way down to Switzerland for the holidays. On the way there it started snowing. And at our stop to stretch out legs and have her do her thing she really go excited about the snow. She started running back and forth between the two if us and barking all the time. We were very surprised but felt she was in her natural habitat and her full personality showed. Really loved our Lycka.

My dog is scared of everything too. He is scared of kids, my grandma, he is scared of the dark and speakers! Those are the things he is scared the most. 😂❤️

My bernadoodle is afraid of waves, people with hats, my brothers trumpet, pots and pans, the vacuum, chairs with wheels, and asparagus. I think all Bernese and Bernese mixes are naturally scaredy-cats lol

Made of rubber apparently is breed standard. Mine does it too! Next time I get a photo, I might pass it along. I don't know how he does it. I'm on one end of the sofa, my mom is on the other, and he curls up between us, bent at a right angle with his head in my lap. I'm like, "Sid, that can't be comfortable," and he just looks at me as if to say, "I'm here. You can rub my tummy now." Ok, all Berners do it.

My bearnese mounatin dog hated lakes and would bark at water, he also didn't like vacuumcleaners 😂 Another thing he did was run to the armchair when we got home and then stand up in it too greet us just like benny does in the video. Last but not least, all my bernease mountain dogs have been rubber dogs!😂😴

My dog is part Bernese mountain dog and literally does ALL of these things - she is soooo nosy when people walk past. And she stares at them with a big smile hoping they will talk to her lol. We always get embarrassed because when we are on walks she pulls us towards people’s houses, cars, etc. just to loom at them and watch them and we are scared people think us humans are the ones trying to snoop 😂

Very cute! My berner has her own set of weirdnesses but she has a bush fetish too. Always has to rub against them and will usually find the ones with burrs.
My dog has an obsession with pine trees like peeing on them, sniffing them for an EXCESSIVE amount of time and he doesn't do it with other trees. I think every dog has their own unique quirks that make them so fun!

I was walking my bernese (11 months old, already really big) and there was a tiny Shi-tzu that came up behind him and he was TERRIFIED of it even tho it was a bit bigger than his head. He kept going in front of my legs to hid from it
Very Cute Video..fyi some dogs have really bad eyesight hence the need to get up close or bark at strange things. My friend took her dog went to the vet for the teeth cleaning and when she picked him up was told her dog was basically blind. Just like us dogs eyesight can go or start to go at an early age ( he's only 7 years old)

My Berner is totally made of rubber. He will sleep with his bottom half turned one way and the top half turned the complete opposite. It shouldn’t even be possible.

I want a berner in the future and I think I have the perfect name- if it’s a lill girl her name’s gonna be Anne but I’m probably just gonna call her Baby and if it’s a little boy his name is just gonna be Baby because NO ONE PUTS A BERNER IN THE CORNER (like dirty dancing, “no one puts Baby in the corner” haha)
