The cool thing about nostalgia is how revisiting past experiences can bring back positive memories. Sure, these days the Roland U-20 sounds extremely dated compared to the gear we have now. But the music this keyboard inspired me to play and compose when I got my hands on it? It was a very creative period for me. Thanks for posting, definitely a memory lane moment.
We had this. Ok i first rebought a tb303 + a 606.(1989? So cheap) .. and as synths finally bought my Juno106 and yamaha tx81z..... Really i wanted to HOUSE. And Techno the world. :) Alesis mmt8 driving my robots. Now you know .... hardware still. Mixed. But very special set up Eheh.... never xpensiv. ))))))))))) ciao frifnd
The keybed and build quality is superior to those little throwaway MIDI keyboards and synths offered today. With softsynths taking over much of both the studio front and the stage as well, with the iPadPro and USB to MIDI interfaces, there is still place for the U20!

A pergunta que nao quer calar ...este teclado ele tem ritmos ?. Ou somente timbres ....e alguem aqui no Brasil tem pecas pra vendas desse modelo....estou a procura do conjunto de membranas flata e de contatos pra poder voltar a funcionar um 😢
Em 86 fui em novo Hamburgo rs buscar um U 20 roland ao chegar na loja me apresentaram o rodens 660 bom teclado mas com fonte externa e teclado magrinho kkkkk pra nós gaúcho pra tocar tem que ter uma ventosa ou sela sanfona e rodens não tem excelente em pianos cordas e metais .
Probably you should be able to download the factory preloaded data. Contact Roland. Probably you would have to restore it back from a midi sample dup via Sys Ex from either a computer.
You have to replace the board battery and then re-flash the presets via midi, from computer to the keyboard. There is a website dedicated to this called llamamusic.

(standar midi files) y los dos tienen los mismos q el xp 10. Tienen 256 sonidos. El xp 10 trae mas variaciones. Si mal no recuerdo tiene 318 sonidos.
