  • HOW TO replace your interior heater fan speed resistor in a Peugeot Partner or Citroen Berlingo
    You will need a flat blade screwdriver, 5.5mm socket and 10mm socket plus a replacement part. Torch is handy too.

    Hi! Great instructions! Regarding the odd size 5.5mm socket - you could substitute a 7/32” socket, as 7/32” equates to 5.55mm.

    Excellent video, many thanks. Anyone trying this needs to be physically fit and bendy as it is a bit of a bugger to get under there.
    Or get a 20 year old with long arms and stick them under there. 2012 Berlingo multi space with A/C was my model for refrence.

      I'm 36 with a host of joint and back issues.... Nice good stretch first... And I can do about 5min under there .. not as much as when I was 26!!

      @@PiggyPower Same, I am a builder who has always fixed cars on the side, (because I am poor and end up doing it - lucky I am fairly good at it) but my question is simple. Who designs cars and says that the best place to put something that may need to be maintained is hidden under the dash, not with the bank of fuses in an easy to access place with a plastic cover on it? Then they cover the engine with plastic so you cannot get to anything directly either.

    • @PiggyPower

      The fan resistor gets really hot when used so they place it in the ductwork to get air flow for cooling. Some are easier to get to than others... But they do rarely fail. Access to oil filters, service items though ... Yes, I'd like to speak with designers!!!! Modern stuff is insane for trying to do basic servicing.

      I used to do everything when things were simple, even an engine rebuild on a fiat punto. However now I have warning lights for airbags on almost every car I have ever owned, and I fix it with a OBDII diagnostic tool - if the light is out it is fixed because it is generally a sensor with water or dirt in it anyway.

    The reason these fail is that people turn on the blower when the intake is blocked with snow or leaves. It's the thermal fuse that opens and you could, in theory, fit a new fuse. Or solder across a bit of wire and hope it never snows again. The fuses may well open if you try to solder them.

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower  Před rokem +2

      Very inexpensive part tbh and it's a fail safe that they blow. It can indicate bad wiring or poorly fan too. This is regularly serviced with no blockages in the intake system

    I have a 2017 Peugeot Tepee, partner with windows in Mexico, with a 1.6hdi motor. The fan is stuck on one blower speed. The dash switch does nothing. Bought this resistor, removed cover plate above pedal housing and it’s not located above the accelerator pedal. Any idea where it’s located on this model?

    i've got a similiar problem with blower resistor. I changed that part you showed and now my fan blows only hot air on cold and hot setting with burnt plastic smell. I checked wiring doesnt heat up and the resitor is cool aswell (when in use), Could you help me with this?

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower  Před rokem +1

      So that's a different part which must be stuck on hot. This resistor doesn't control temperature 👌🐷

      That will be the flap stuck on hot basically...not this thing. This thing controls the fan speed

      Check your user manual, usually it's in there. Failing that a quick Google. Sometimes it's even printed on the back of the covers to the relays
