There is a scene in this movie when Michael keeps stabbing the cop in the sewer and gets âpowered upâ from it. Thatâs exactly what watching these negative reviews of this movie does for me. Every person I listen to tear this horrible film apart powers me up and makes me feel better for wasting money seeing this trash in the theatre...
That cringey overly erotic scene where Corey was nearly jizzing himself to Michael stabbing the cop. That scene should not have had the cop, and just have Michael kill off Corey there and then
Iâm glad you dopes have hobbies.
As a Halloween film and the final installment AND Michaels swan song. I could not be more disgusted with how this movie turned out. Myers is barley in it, this Corey nerd was in basically every scene. They made Michael weak as hell, then strong enough to lift a girl with one arm, then back to being weak when Corey beat him up and took his mask. Like WHAT? Also the writing was just bizarre. Corey tell Laurie "IF I can't have her, nobody can" then he proceeds to try and kill himself. Please explain how killing himself is gonna make Laurie's granddaughter be with nobody else? Then that ending. OMG just rotten as rotten can be. This movie was like one big F*** You to Michael Myers fans.
Truth
Halloween 3 & ends almost had Michael for the same amount of screen time đ
I didn't mind that the Corey character existed but by God they needed to cut over an hours worth of his scenes. The fans wanted Laurie and Michael, ya know that thing that the franchise is built on the last 40 something years across 12 films.
Having seen the film twice I still hold firm that Corey should have been killed off by Michael after the bullies pushed him off the bridge. This way we could feel sorry for Corey, Michael would get his drive back, then could've gotten in the cool kills that were given to Corey
I †Andi Matichak as Allyson she was my favourite character from the trilogy and I really do hope we get more from Allyson in the future.
Halloween Ends was not a Halloween movie. I was very disappointed ! Thank you for your review of this "movie". Just another reason I'm a Jason Voorhees fan !
Jason Goes To Hell đ„đ„ Was đŻ Times Betterđ
Michael locked up in a maximum security prison: Laurie = batshit insane.
Michaelâs whereabouts unknown after superhumanly surviving a beat down by most of the town and then massacring them: Laurie = Iâm gonna get my shit together
đ
So many mistakes with this movie after this I don't want any more Halloween movies sometimes dead is better
It's hard to believe professional writers made this. Unfortunately most movies are bad souless greedy cash grab.
This is the best of the trilogy in my opinion. Best writing, acting, cinematography, music and a consistent tone. On paper some of the story ideas I would hate but seeing them on screen I was surprised how into it I was. My one major gripe is yes this should of been the first or second of the trilogy and I really wish Corey's arc was better at the end because I thoroughly enjoyed his character. I mean come on...let's spend 90 minutes with this character to just have him go the way he did just so michael and Laurie can meet again for a 3 minute showdown. đ€·ââïž
I love your voice itâs real chill and relaxing
Great review Piz. đ pumped to check it out this Xmas.
Piz! Your best review yet, imo! Had me guessing the entire time what your "final" view was, with interesting angles and takes, and most importantly I thought it was fair. For me the most exciting part of this release is enjoying the diversity of opinions. Thats what makes it so fun, and I thought your review really captured that. You get better with every review, brotha! đ€đ»đ€đŒ
Thank you!
Spot on review you said everything that needed to be said!
Only 4 Writers needed for this film.
I want to know if one of them was Ryan Johnson
You know the old saying...4 writers are better than one!
The musical score on the film was great as well, done by John Carpenter and his son Cody
I am glad I stream this on Peacock because I wouldâve stormed out of the movie theater right to the Ticaboo demanding my $20 back
Loved your review. Very well put. Subscribed.
Loved the reviewđhave not got round to seeing it yet. đđ»
Your review was very fair. Iâm glad this was a step up for you, and I too am shocked that I liked Corey. He tried to tell us weâd like him. We shouldâve listened. Good stuff, Piz!
Thanks, Nick!
@@pizowell Halloween Ends is different but I must rather stick to the original Halloween movie and the 2018 especially H2O there really good to watchâŠ
It's interesting to hear another reviewer share the same unique perspective I have on the new trilogy. I was lukewarm on 18 and I really disliked kills. And with all the issues I have with ends, some that you pointed out perfectly like how much more sense it would of been if this was the 2nd movie instead. Despite all that, I have to say that this was my favorite in the trilogy but I still didn't love it. And several things irked me.
Really liked your take on Halloween Ends đ watch you all the time, just not commented.
Hope Jeremy is ok? Great review đ
Thanks! Jeremy is good. His thoughts on Ends will be up on my channel tomorrow.
Iâm almost more then positive that Jamie Lee Curtis had a say in this film and wanted this movie to be specifically reflecting on the entire situation of the world we are living in.
Where everyone has an evil side Myers almost lives in everybody I mean huge risks were made with this film that really shake up what fans and general viewers expected.
Itâs definitely the Last Jedi of Horror films đ
Yeah she was goin all political and looney lately, definitely has her input in the film. She is the executive producer of the franchise
@@Ishitonyou666 the more I think about this movie I initially liked it the first time thought ok this is new itâs different I can appreciate that.
Now Iâm like that really isnât a good movie and neither was kills really think justifiably they had a extremely good film with the 2018 story and should of ended it then.
@@shadowplague I agree! 2018 was good and it should of ended it like that but it made a lot of money, so in Kills, it has some ridiculous moments, but it would of been better that was the last installment. Unfortunately we got this garbage , it had Friday the 13th part 5 vibe, but it was so cringy and didnât make any sense . They butchered Michael Myers , I canât stand that Corey character , he came out of nowhere smh
Heck yeah Piz, don't be afraid to give your honest opinion! If anything, it's more interesting when we don't all have the same takeaway from a film. Speaking for myself, I'm usually much harder on newer films when I think it's trying to follow a formula without creating as much atmosphere. I'm sure those harsher opinions will lighten up given some time.
Corey Cunningham reminds me of Ronald in Bad Ronald movie
Or canât bye me love, yes I said it, a romance movie gone wrong
Thatâs a great analogy comparing Halloween Ends to the direct to video Hellraiser movies
PIZâŠ.
Youâre awesome! Seriously, your review oh HE is the best yetâŠ
Thank you, Timothy!
Great review as always Piz. I agree. As someone who hated kills, liked 2018 and had really low expectations. I honestly loved ends and can agree it has issues, but I rather enjoyed the drastic change. Cheers!
Thanks for the review.
They left so many unanswered questions from kills . They shit on all kills fans ......
The best part of Kills was when the movie ended and I could go home.
You nailed it buddy .. I felt exactly the same as you .. good job đ
Love the videos keep it up â€ïžđ
Thank you, Nicole!
THIS TRILOGY IS AN ABSOLUTE INSULT TO THE NAME HALLOWEEN
I had a lot of fun. I liked it.
Hey Piz was excited to see ur thoughts on the movie. I agree with everything u said except one thing. Been a fan of Halloween ever since my father took me to the movies to see part 2 in the Theatre Yes I was 8 at the time lol
But I really enjoyed it. I liked the change of direction. It wasnât the same thing over n over again.
I was not a fan of Kills like ur self and I too was wondering how Ends was going to b. So my bar was set real low lol
That could b y I enjoyed it so much.
Thank u so much for ur content.
Good video. I totally agree with your opinion. I was almost the only person who left the cinema with a little smile on my face after the movie ended.
I went in expecting to hate Corey but I actually liked him. Movie needed more Michael screentime.
Appreciate the thoughtful review. You are a strong and level-headed voice for the fandom.
Thank you!
Corey and the Strode girl's relationship confused me.. They just met prior.. And all of a sudden she is madly in love with him, though he doesn't seem to really have much emotion back to her.. Then all of a sudden at the last minute he decided that he is in mad love with her and will do anything to stop people from taking her from him.. I am guessing scenes were cut down? The relationship went from a tetanus appointment to the next minute asking to hang out and go to parties.. Even if you consider that she had read about Corey's past and crushed him over that because of a shared grief is bizarre.
We need more Bad Boy Piz!!! đđđ Great review
Don't back down pizowell. I thought this movie was god awful. Halloween resurrection was better than ends in my opinion.
Great review man! I liked Halloween Ends. I really liked the path they choose, but wouldâve loved more gore. Less crying and more killing, please đ
Evil cries tonight
Man Iâm shocked you just said Halloween Ends was more fun than 2018. We must have been watching different movies
Agree.. I thought Halloween 2018 was just a somewhat decent Halloween sequel.. Halloween Ends truly had me scratching my head wondering if I was watching the right movie. This entire trilogy has been a monstrous disappointment to me
Early in the film when Corey is riding his bike did anyone else notice âlove lives todayâ spray painted on a wall. Ugh.
*Spoilers ahead
Without digging deep, what I took away from Ends isâŠ
basically everyone in Haddonfield is an asshole
It took four writers to come up with this? âEvil takes another shapeâ I reckon they all gave one another high fives after coming up with that line.
Michael appears to have a *ahem* happy ending in his overalls after the disposing of Officer Mulaney in the sewer
Anticlimactic ending (unlike Michaels sewer climax)
If folks like this new trio of Halloween movies, good for them. Iâm glad people can find enjoyment in them. I personally didnât care for any of the films in this trilogy and was disappointed from the moment the final credits rolled for Halloween 2018 to the final credits rolling for Halloween Ends. High hopes dashed. Oh, well. Tomorrow is another day.
This movie is like a hallmark channel program sold under the title of Halloween.
That actually makes sense! This shouldâve been the second outing instead of Kills with Michael coming back stronger than ever at the end and having the final film actually be about Michael and Laurie. They shouldâve introduced Corey in the 2018 film to give people a chance to get attached to him.
Great review
I think "Halloween Ends" is going to gain some love through time. Is the only movie in the trilogy that has something to tell about the town, about Laurie's perspective and Corey's character isn't bad either, I get your point about a direct to video movie. It reminded me, obviously to "Christine" (even Cunningham are both characters last name), but also to Robert Englund's "976 Evil". "Ends" has all the vibe of an 80's 90's movie and it's in all the right places.
Spot on review!
Everything you just said is đŻ accurate manđđ»
Whoever is sending you death threats really need to re-evaluate their lives. Keep trucking.
Its definitely a weird movie. Leaving the shape out for almost and hour, and then some conflicted love story going on, and then we get Michael living in the sewers like King's iT creature. Michael being geriatric was pretty sad, and yeah having kills as the actual end of the trilogy would make more sense. They also telegraphed the car muncher end very blatantly, which I never understand why film makers do those shots. The Dj getting it was the best the record skipping was hysterical. Cheers and great review!
I loved the ideas and concepts they introduced in this trilogy. However the way they applied it definitely could've been better. Your comparison to the star wars sequel trilogy is on point. I liked Corey as a character, I think if he was introduced earlier like in 2018 it would've made his turn more shocking and tragic if audiences had time to grow attached to him. Ends gave the series a Friday part 5 and Ghostface sort of element that we haven't had before. I know she's not everyone's favorite character but I definitely missed Karen in this last one /:
Your point about Corey is great. His story is heartbreaking and yet I felt close to nothing for him in the end...
COREY ISN'T DEAD!! U CAN HEAR BREATHING BEFORE ENDING CREDITS ROLL. HE WILL BE THE NEXT SHAPE!!
I have watched this once so far and for me I have this as my 3rd favourite Halloween film after the original 1 and 2. A very different film to the others, yes Michael wasnât in it very much physically but his presence was always there and the ending was just really well done. Watching it in the theatre I had a smile on my face but also felt quite emotional at how it came to an end. Anyhow I loved it and looking forward to watching it again.
SameđŻ
I have heard people liking it but more people hating it. I won't see it in theaters but I'll buy it physically when it comes out to complete the collection. Good review and cool video Pizowell!đđđ
hey piz. i'm a new subscriber and this was a great video. i liked and commented.
I appreciate that. Noob.
I enjoyed the tiny Nick castle cameo lol
Piz, I have to say that I completely agree with this review. This is pretty much the embodiment of everything that I had to say about that. #TeamCorey
Grabbing the đż for this one lol
After watching this movie Iâm just so confused. When Michael gets grounded they added that scene saying âsee everyone, heâs actually dead this timeâ.
Piz, I was really perplexed as to why they went this way with the story? They got a strong reaction to the Dr. Sartane plot twist in 2018. So they took that idea a step further and make a whole movie out that idea. My god....I didn't hate it, but was really confused by the whole damn movie. I like the Cory character but the amount of screen time to him was a bad decision for a final entry. The scene where ____ takes the mask from ________ was the part that upset as a Halloween fan. Laurie confronting Cory with the chair bumping the wall was an awesome scene.
You ever see that episode of Chappelles show where hes showing points in time and saying things like âMan Carter is f*cking upâ. Well they should have Chappelle walking outta the theater saying this about DGG
I found it fascinating and intriguing. I personally wouldn't have made the choices story wise they did here and in Kills and some stuff just didn't fit the narrative, but overall it was entertaining and thought provoking
I honestly wasn't insulted by Michael's purpose in this movie, I'm actually getting pretty sick of him being portrayed as a bullet proof Jason Voorhees gore artist, I prefer it when he's more subtle or maybe even symbolic of a grander evil.
He's The Apprentice of Michael Myers This Is The Adventures of Slash man and Robin
I avoided all marketing for this movie outside of the initial teaser and I'm glad I did so I wouldn't have been missold on Halloween Ends. I enjoyed it and thought it was somewhat of a fitting end to the series. I agree completely on the not a Halloween movie aspect of it as well. I watched it on Peacock so I'm not sure how I would've felt had I went to the theater but I enjoyed the movie, I may turn on it at some point but initial viewing kept me entertained. Kinda hope there's a bigger cut that will flesh out the story a little more though.
Too many questions left unanswered. Why was Michael hiding in the sewers for 4 years? Why didn't Michael just kill Cory? When did Michael regain his supernatural powers and see into Cory? How is Michael like the Terminator in Kills, yet weak and frail in Ends? It's not a bad movie IF you take away Michael Myers and call it something else. But as a Halloween movie, it's not well executed. I give it a 4.8/10. Still more watchable than Resurrection or Rob Zombie's movies.
I enjoyed all 3 films but, they don't add up to a sensible trilogy.
Ty, for mentioning Star Wars. Nothing has broken my heart, like the treatment of Luke Skywalker. I'm sick of unplanned trilogies.
I refuse to watch The Rise of Skywalker. The Last Jedi turned me off to pretty much all things Disney Star Wars. The first season of The Mandelorian was pretty good though.
@@pizowell Exactly. Andor is really good. I just don't know why they had to ruin Luke, except out of spite/down with the Patriarchy.
They knew they were getting 2 more movies after 2018âŠ.and thatâs what they didâŠif this was the plan they should have introduced Corey in Kills. Felt like they had no plan with the Kills and Ends
Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and Leatherface...just leave well enough alone...be done...
the best day's of them are behind us now...have been...
I think it was a bold step in the Halloween franchise. Yes it was different, but I thought it was well done. I think it will be remembered in a better light in time. The first time I saw Halloween 3 as a kid, I was gutted that there was no Michael, but as an adult I really appreciate the film in its own right. I now consider it a great horror film.
favourite worthwhile part of the movie is how Michael Myers finally dies with all the folks watching him
I like the trilogy. Weirdly Kills feels like Michaels grand Finale, but in terms thatâs the point hence the name Kills. Ends also does what itâs supposed to. Itâs bringing the story to an end. I like how Michael is this decrepit old man looking for a successor but It doesnât go as planned and it all Ends. Good movie. 4/5 personally.
Dam Straight!!! Seen it today, Great Dam Movie!!!!
I think you missed the point. They wanted the last movie to be so bad that the series would END. Thatâs what the title means đ
Did Michael Myers at least have the sense to get a life insurance policy with Colonial Penn?
Just saw ends today. I loved 2018 and kills, but Iâm really not sure how I feel about this one
*My Halloween Ends Plot Twist Theory*
Before I get bashed by the Halloween Fans, hear me out first.....
What if everything we saw in the Movie didn't actually happen? Like everything that happened was just part of Laurie's Book? Since it's been 4 years since Michael last wreaked Havoc on Haddonfield, she just assumed, "okay it's been 4 years and counting, he's not coming back" and this was her way of writing him off with how she envisioned her killing him. Laurie writing this Book was her way of closer to her and Michael's Story.
Thoughts?
Be nice.... đđȘ
I like this idea more than what the writers/directors actually gave us.
You will never convince me after what The Shape was capable of doing in KILLS that Laurie had ANY chance of defeating him hand-to-hand in ANY scenario.
Laurie gets curb-stomped. End of conversation.
I thought they did The Shape dirty. If this was Gordon's vision all along it could have all been achieved within the first film. We didn't need the sequels. They were a simple cash grab on Blum House/Miramax's part.
Corey is the reason we didnât get Michael tho. Imagine, Corey goes into the Sewer, gets killed by Michael, then Michael gets enough energy to keep going. Instead of Corey being robin to Michael Myersâs batman
Spot on comment. I agree completely. When Michael killed the cop and got his drive and strength back they should have had him kill Corey and resume the film with Michael at the centre stage
Imo that was one the many ridiculous scenes in this travesty, showing him "power up" like he was Mario or some shit.
I liked it nobody is talking about how Michael used Corey as a Pawn it's psychological and evil in itself
I'd never really thought about it from that angle and it's certainly something he's done in past timelines. If that was the intention I don't know if they necessary translated it on screen
He did dude was smart
New subscriber!đ
I just watched this today with 78, 2018 as itâs own trilogy. I just skip Kills and it actually makes Ends a much better movie in several ways.
Agree! Easily corey was the star of the trilogy and people looked at me crazy when I said this after the movie! Before walking into this movie I was pessimistic due to the bold move to go away from micheal on this, but open to something new.
I compare this trilogy to the first 3 originals:
H78 similar to 2018
(Both took place the same night)
Kills similar to h81
(Takes place in a hospital)
Ends similar to season of the witch
(Weird, due to the fact that it has nothing to do with micheal)
Lmao Corey the star đđ
You can't be the star of a trilogy if you're only in 1 movie. Especially the last one.
Soon as i witnessed Cory bully Michael while taking his mask, i shut it off!!! I couldn't take anymore!!! I finished it this morning, wish i didn't!!!! The worst and final dagger for me was letting DDG kill michael definitely for the first time ever in a cannon sence!! F this Movie!!!!
Green made Myers vunerable, so it could be convincing, that he is old and injured so the series could end in a realistic fashion. So there has to be another villain. So yes they copied the concept of Christine. How evil can influence a bullied young person to become a killer. I still like this series better than the Rob Zombie version.
Excellent review. I have a feeling this will be a film thatâll be talked about and debated for years to come and eventual fall into the beloved cult status
HAHAHAHAHA
No it wonât đ
I just wanted to drop a line and say your review was great. I think this should have been Halloween 3 and then have Halloween 4 of this series where the entire movie is about Laurie and Michael in an epic final battle.
By all means do something different, but not for the final of the trilogy.
This movie felt like one of the goofy halloween sequels after 1 and 2
I would argue that Jaws 4 "The Revenge" was better than Halloween Ends. In Jaws 4, a great white shark follows a family who leaves on a plane from Amity island in the northeast to the Bahamas, and the shark beats them there. That story made as much sense as the story in Halloween Ends.
I agree. Corey is along with Allyson. I loved Allyson in every one of them and Corey doesn't deserve the hate he gets. He has such a tragic story and felt so connected to his character. I didn't care for Laurie vs. Michael in this whole trilogy. I just wanted to get more Allyson and her story and I got that in Ends. The last act of this was the worst part imo. I enjoyed this more than Kills and plan on buying it in a few months.
Fantastic review!! I was extremely disappointed. I really like Halloween 2018 I thought on a rewatch the directors cut for kills was okay. When I saw it in theaters for the first time I was disappointed. This was my least favored movie of the blumhouse trilogy. Not a good way to end a franchise or your take at a franchise. Man there doing the exorcist trilogy next. I do not have high hopes. Thanks for the review and always being honest with your takes!
As a 46 yr old life long Halloween purest. I'm still sitting right smack dab in the middle with Ends. As far as a "Halloween" movie. I'm not on board. As a "Halloween Antholgy"? Im definitely on board. With the rights back to Malek Akkad. I'm sure that guys brain is swelling if new ideas. Let's face it gang... the boogeyman will never die
I feel like after watching Ends I have more of a love for Kills. I've been so excited for this film for a year and I've left it tonight feeling massively disappointed and let down
Best one of the new trio of films. But, Halloween 4 is still my favorite
Sounds like weâre both right on the money. 3.5/5
I like certain things about the film but overall itâs a very strange ending to the trilogy. One thing I thought was particularly strange is that Laurie didnât seem surprised when she saw Corey wearing Michaelâs mask. She shouldâve tried to find out how he got it since that wouldâve been a clue to finding out where Michael was hiding. Itâs also weird that Laurie and Allyson donât talk about Corey and Michael showing up at their house at the same time. Did they know Corey and Michael had some kind of connection and were killing together? Did they just think Corey somehow found Michael and stole his mask and Michael wanted it back? Did Laurie think Michael came to get revenge against her? They wouldnât necessarily have a clear cut answer but itâs strange that there wasnât a scene of them speculating about what happened. All we get is Laurie saying that Corey was consumed my evil.
After seeing Halloween Ends twice
I am even more convinced (now more than ever) that Halloween 2 from 1981 is (and remains) the only grand finale worthy of a saga like Halloween. All the rest remains, unfortunately, a banal imitation, or adaptation, of a story of terror that should have ended there in the Haddonfield Memorial after the memorable sacrifice of Dr. Loomis this becomes a perfect ending ... with our beloved Laurie, sole survivor, injured, traumatised by the massacre of Michael Myers. Leaving alone on an ambulance... and to end this all.. like in a ironic way.. Mr. Sandman!
All they had to do with the continuation of the 2018 story is simple. When 2018 came out, it was instantly met with âMicheal hates womenâ in MANY articles and reviews.
Cool. So imagine this, take the idea of the flashback explored in Halloween Kills, and keep going all the way back to 1957 in Halloween Ends to discover Micheal had an incredibly abusive mother.
The murder of the first sister and the compulsion to get to Laurie and anyone in the way is Micheal trying to rid the world of the evil he perceives in the women of his bloodline. Evil killing evil ironically turning Micheal intoâŠa hero. Imagine THAT story about trauma.
Is Micheal justified? Is he wrong? Should he suffer? You end answering NONE of those questions. At that's how you do it. NO ONE in Hollywood has balls big enough to pitch that in the current year. You hear me Malek Akkad?
I enjoyed "Halloween Ends" which is very surprising considering how much I absolutely despised "Halloween Kills". I thought the 2018 Halloween was solid but Ends is better in my opinion. While I am also a hardcore Halloween fan, I can appreciate how ballsy and risky the direction that the filmmakers took with Ends regardless. My main issue is that it now feels like there is a missing film that should exist between Kills and Ends. I am not sure about all of the criticism being leveled at the acting in Ends as I thought it was solid all around. But color me impressed that I liked Ends considering the previous dumpster fire which is Kills.
ENDs wasnât even a Halloween movie. Most of the movie takes place either on oct 29th and Nov 1st. Michael myers was in it for a total of 4 minutes and Corey is in it for over 30 minutes and heâs not even the protagonist. Donât even get me started on how Corey beat Michael and took his mask. There were three kills Michael got in this movie and two of them were assists by Corey. 3??? Really? For the last final Halloween movie? Naw
@@NoonMight they might as well had the movie set on Labor Day.
Hands down one of the worst releases in the franchise. Most of it isnât believable to me. Iâll never watch it again. Pretend it didnât exist.
The opening credits had the season of the witch Halloween font and color so it kinda makes since also being the 3rd but I hated the treatment of Michael.
Right on, Piz! I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one. Easily the best of the new trilogy, and one of the better sequels IMO
