There are several different types of investment firms who hire financial analysts. These are:
    - Asset managers
    - Private equity firms
    - Hedge funds
    - Venture capital firms
    - The investment arms of insurance companies
    - Real estate investment trusts (REITs)
    - Mutual funds
    - Big 4 firms
    - And Pension funds
The common denominator is that these organizations need financial analysts who can help them assess companies from the prism of investment potential. In most cases, they study externally available financial statements to identify suitable investment opportunities. Financial analysts working for investment companies have an external perspective - their main focus is identifying and acquiring assets with superior ROI. A financial analyst working for an investment firm is rarely involved in the core operational activities of the businesses they invest in.
Typically, small businesses with (50 to 200 employees) can afford a few financial analysts (sometimes even just one). In this case, a financial analyst has much more extensive responsibilities and acquires a complete 360-degree visibility of the business.
In large firms, this isn’t the case as financial analysts tend to focus on a specific part of the business only and pay much greater attention to it.

      Hello!
Great question! AI is reshaping the finance industry, automating routine tasks and enhancing data analysis. However, it's unlikely to replace financial analysts entirely. Instead, AI is a tool that aids analysts, allowing them to focus on strategic and interpretive tasks that will continue to require human insight.
Remember when Excel first became a staple in finance? There was a notion that it might reduce the need for financial analysts. However, the opposite occurred. Excel became an essential tool, enhancing analysts' capabilities to perform more sophisticated analyses and manage data effectively. So, analysts who mastered Excel found themselves more in demand, not less.
While AI automates data processing and routine analytical tasks, it also opens new avenues for financial analysts to focus on higher-level strategy and interpretation. Just as Excel didn't replace analysts but made them more effective, AI is set to enhance their role, making their insights and decisions more valuable than ever.
We hope this answers your questions. Let us know if you have more questions. :)
      Yours,
      The 365 Team
