Very good comparison video! The pioneer is designed to be a main Mid and High speaker. Reason being is Pioneer expects customers buying the G and A series speakers to add subwoofers to complete the sound experience. If you buy the Reference series, those speakers are designed for full range. JBL designes almost all their speakers as full range just like alpine type R and rockford fosgate.
exactly. that's why this 6970 specifically supports sound from 34 hz to 25000 hz. a full support speaker would start from 20 hz. i like the mids and highs on pioneer becuz its more clear and the sound and notes of instruments feel separated. even though jbl is better in term of bass quality but the mids and highs are not clear enough and sound like old radio channels to put it roughly!
i have component speakers. separate tweeters, 2 8 inch rounds and 6x9 in back. all JBL. for me its perfection. i don't like all those little speakers on a 6x9. @@user-vz3hp8ll5y
the pioneer has stronger 5000 to 8000hz which gives the illusion of clarity but all that does is cause sibilance in a car door. while the JBL actually had better response above 10khz which allows a lot more airiness while smoothing out the sibilance range which will sound way smoother and higher quality IRL.
JBLs are great if you have a separate tiny tweeter on the door. i will always have a little tweeter now. it seaerates the highs perfectly. once u know you know.
I have an 8inch pioneer low profile TS series Sub in my single cab Dakota and it shakes the side view mirrors, that thing kicks hard & deep clean bass. When I saw the low profile TS type 6x9s I got them for my van to compliment a 12inch Pyle sub I just put in. The sub is pretty good, but I'm going to add my Pioneer 8inch to the setup, cause things ain't shaking yet. Anyway, if the 6x9s are as good as the 8inch sub, I'm gonna be making up reasons to drive around.
In the middle tone pioneer is best, i dont want a good bass on a speaker cause i have a good subwoofer, then the best choice for complete mi set audio sistem in this case its the pioneer.
Es importante el full rango también, ya que te da un tono más. Profundo al momento de la voz o en la música. Yo usaría los medios rangos sólo para voz. Y los full rangos para darle más profundidad a la melodia.
Amazing! Im planning to get the JBL CLUB 9632 for front+back (they are 3 way coax) just bc I don't think I can add a sub behind me in one of the rear seat 6x9, or maybe I can. And then do 2x club 9632 in the front and also 2 dash speakers thinking Kicker 47KSC3504 good price and good sound!
I'd say that the Pioneer produces more sound, and the highs are more. The Pioneer bass sounds good, but sounds like a little over powered, probably, which makes distortion, but the bass sounds different than the JBL. The JBL is clear, but a little muffled to me, probably because of its sensitivity or something. The JBL bass sounds good, controlled , but it seems like the JBL has less excursion, maybe. I haven't looked up the specs on them, so I'm just using the vid to see what I think. I'm not sure what you are talking about when you talk about the Pioneer's air distribution.
it probly doesnt play less than 90/ 80/ 70hz , if i remember correctly all these jbl club speakers need a subwoofer with the crossover at 100hz. The pioneer is probly a full range, and the jbl isnt Anyway these speakers need bigger ported boxes for lower bass or just free air them in the trunk cover. Sealed wil give better midbass and midrange quality (if the speakers arent leaking trough the center hole for the mids from the sound pressure. But you wil need a subwoofer most of the time if you seal 6x9s. Ive seen more and more 90/100hz 6x9 and 6inch speakers in the stores these days, it always used to be full range for those size speakers.
@@cybernaab I agree. There aren't really too many, but today there are 6.5"/6x9 that go pretty low. get component speakers so u have separate tiny tweeters. i got JBL components and the highs are so good. it sounds like i have a small sub even tho i don't.
So just from reading the comments I gather that the Pioneer is more suited for and really shines with an amp and equalizer? The JBL sounds more complete and fine tuned out the box and the Pioneer sounds like it might beat out the JBL if you tweak the sound in an equalizer.

There is a problem. Pioneer are not using the same materials in his TS-A speakers line. Search por TS-A speakers with "Multilayer Mica Matrix" or something like that from previous models.
alot of these speakers are operation in a free air situation. to get the best of them the deck needs to have crossovers to meld them with the subs you should be running. cancel out the bass 80hz to 120hz down. let the subs take up that spectrum
I bought a pair of JBL 9632 and GTO939 about a month ago. I put the Club 9632 in the rear doors and the GTO939 in the front doors, The GTO939 100 % better clearer and louder. The 9632 sound like a pillow on top of them compared to the GT0939.
