At the 15:50 mark, the “pools” are indeed man-made and are used to evaporate sea water to make salt. You will see more elaborate ones still in use today up and down the coast from Batroun. The salt harvesters used windmills to pump sea water into pools of varying depths. As the water evaporated they moved the concentrated brine to a series of progressively shallower pools. At the end of this process all that’s left is crystalline coarse sea salt, they then used wooden rakes to harvest the raw sea salt that they then laid out in the sun to dry out. Made the mistake once, as a young child, of swimming in one of these pools and it is hard to forget the feeling of that super salty brine on even the tiniest cuts on my skin and in my eyes!

As a lebanese living abroad that has moved recently out of lebanon, the main problem in Lebanon is politics, geo-politics, and extreme corruption, the government is not good at anything, and the people that seems to be living a natural life, are self made people around lebanon working for international companies. Lebanese are getting used to this corrupted system and are taking initiatives to compensate the lack of public services by adapting to any situation, and this is why you can still find many Lebanese people living their lives normally despite the lack of basic services, it's a shame for such a beautiful place to have so much problems.

Just a fun fact. So I am from Batroun and the building w the court next to the church and the port @12:00 is actually a private catholic school. My mom and the entire side of her family went/go to school there. But I just attended scouts there. I did go to both churches when I was younger (before we moved) cuz my parents went to both. @20:05 So White Beach has actually gone thru so many name changes throughout the years. When I was younger it used to be called Blue Beach (idk u it's called different colors) but there was no entrance fee cuz it wasn't owned by anyone and it had no bar or chairs. U get ur own. Lol funny that u said that Batroun is similar to Byblos but busier cuz a few years ago Jbeil/Byblos was actually the more popular one where everyone went to for nightlife. But once restaurants were built along the sea and everything was renovated, Batroun became more popular. And in my opinion they ruined it but they recently got rid of all the local shop owners and they made the Souk into a nightlife as well. W restaurants and DJs. Before it had like a fishery and a butchery...a shop where they built custom frames....a computer lab... vegetable stand.... Also the place ur staying at it probably was a home that they used. But when Batroun became popular and the locals needed the money, they tried to take advantage of it by opening stores and food stands from their homes and air B&Bs. It's cute and I'm glad that it helps them. And it's fun when u wanna go out but sometimes when u think back about how it was like, its no longer this unique city. It's just very touristic which is very annoying. But I'm really glad u enjoyed the city! And yeah the electricity sucks. Fries everything electrical. But that's the experience of living in Lebanon lol 😆

Since you're wondering why Lebanon is so green, it's because of the Mediterranean climate and Mount Lebanon. Due to its height, Mount Lebanon ensures a high level of precipitation by forcing the humid Mediterranean air to rain down. In addition, the mountains feed numerous rivers and streams due to the snowfall in winter and the subsequent snowmelt in spring. Egypt, Oman and the United Arab Emirates all have hot desert climates. Jordan, on the other hand, mainly has either a desert climate (hot and cold) or an arid steppe climate (also hot and cold). However, there are also areas with a Mediterranean climate which are mostly northwest of the capital Amman, such as Irbid, Jerash and Ajloun.
By the way, you went to one of the highest places in Mount Lebanon (1700 meters above sea level), of course it's still cold there, but don't worry, such mishaps make your videos really funny and authentic 😉 I'm looking forward to your Greece videos because I don't know much about the country and hope to get a better impression of it through your eyes 👍🏻

@@amerhijazi7632 I know that Qurnat as Sawda is the highest peak in Mount Lebanon but I was talking about inhabited places. They passed Laqlouq and if they then went straight down to Batroun then they must have passed through Tannourine El-Fawqa. These two places are among the highest in Mount Lebanon. The mountain peaks around them are of course even higher.

we have been presented with a completely different description of Lebanon since I was born in Iran, illustrating it as a poverty-stricken nation, tyrannized by Zionists, everybody is under severe oppression, everybody's famished and starving, women are literally covered in long robes and burqas, no beaches let alone walking on the beaches, and lots of other devastating stories leaving you paralyzed with sadness and feeling sympathy for the Lebanese all the time. and the worst thing is that we as Iranians are so naïve and gullible to still feel the same way to the extent that we have almost forgotten our miserable situations and hardships we are suffering from, though. thanks a lot sir for shattering all those illusions and revealing the truth to us. Nice to relax and listen to the waves. Great to hear you got to chill out with other CZcamsrs. I hope you head wasn't to bad the next day. Good vibes. Beautiful views. Perfect music. Lovely sunset. Crazy flight times. Bless you. Always informative. We take electricity for granted in the UK for sure. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend.

Another amazing spot you two found! Yeah, it looks as though one had better wear beach shoes to that beach since it's downright rocky but it's in a good spot. Liked the two waterfalls a great deal. I hope you two enjoy Athens and Greece but get ready to throw TP into the bins next to the WC's/commodes instead of flushing it down since the plumbing's a bit tricky! Thanks for this!

Oh!!! Me and my friends were on the beach. You can see us at second 16 😅 . We also went up to Ballou Balaa after Batroun on that day. So looks like we lived same experience on that day. However it wasn’t raining at Balou Balaa when we arrived and the water fall had a smaller one next to it (I believe as a result of the rain) glad you enjoyed your trip to Lebanon 🙌🏼 keep up the good work. We really love your videos guys.

Hi, Jumping Places. Lebanon´s City Biblos is interesting. It isn´t a lot of beaches but the ancient architecture creates one historic scope and ideas over the lifestyle of your habitats.
The surprised waterfall is the only one in the world for the form. Ok, passed you one happy while. Thanks for the video.
