I was a sales manager at a Mahindra dealership for six months, and trust me, there's a lot of conspiracy before the sale and even more afterward in their service. This is because people like me have shifted to cab services in metro city due to parking mess everywhere, high cost for prefered car and decresing features and quality. I literally sold my car in the month of may and since then did not attempt to buy new car and i am happily peaceful now.

As you said, free ration junta ( I am not saying they are bad or don’t deserve) is the load our resources limited country is trying to manage since independence. We are almost 1/3 size of USA and have like 4x the population.
Of course this is a rough figure, but the. Resource per person in our country is very less.
Politicians know this reality. They know that free ration or small drop in price will make 80 percent of the masses happy and that hike in taxes is just the headache of very small percentage folks who can actually afford anything.
Our defence spending is shit. our country needs at-least 2-3x the current institutes at all verticals.
Private Health industry also is just accessible to the smaller group, whereas we are literally paying taxes to fund government hospitals.
Ultimately it’s just the misery of the middle class and unfortunately we as brave men and women will have to lift this weight for a lot of folks in this county.
Ultimately the problem statement is very clear, how to make the biggest segment of population a much more efficiently contributor to the central and state govt cash reserves so that the small group can finally cut some slack and live life.

Govt forces car mfg to move out of diesels, petrol suvs are very high on running cost. Population is on high peak... Excessive traffic, less parking places . High gst on car parts and labour charges... Continuous change in car models, new model in every year reducing the resale value of existing cars!!! Very frustrating situation.
It’s bound to happen, Indian consumer has left behind the practical and utility focused approach and now chosen the aspirational approach. Nothing wrong with it.
Thing is how we in our self are trying to fulfill these aspiration, most buyers 80-90% are financing cars. This in itself is the biggest trap, that’s people just ignore because of the aspiration driven approach.
I think there must be more strict regulations around car financing. Because car is literally a depreciating asset and its utility vs aspirational value has already skewed to extremes.
This would obviously hurt both the consumers and producers for a while, but on the bright side a price correction will happen.

My observation is that car manufacturers are confusing customers like some days safety, some says exterior look, interior looks, some YT influencers too confuse people. Small changes are shown as major facelifts. Too much price hike. At the end customers have to pay emi with huge interest for a highly depreciating product. Maintenance cost is increasing. Just for manufacturers profit they can't expect customers to change their cars frequently. Current global situation is also not favourable.

This slow down happened from May month because people waited for election result and it was rumared that 28 % GST of Vehicle Invoice will be reduced to 15 % and 50 % Tax reduction in Hybrid and Electric cars,
Peoples waited for same and till july it was slow down in sales,

Thanks to yearly increase of the prices in the guise of inflation, this is bound to happen. Realistically, the cars sold here are much costlier than their counterparts in west. No point buying cars with such inflated prices. Customers shouldn’t buy new cars till the manufacturer’s bring in cars at the same cost at which they sell in their respective countries (For this to happen they will have to manufacture 💯 % locally, but by doing this, parent company will loses outs royalty which we are paying).. This is my opinion, maybe wrong…

It is not only cost of cars have increased, or taxes increased. Market has inflated too much. I hope it is about 7% on an avg. from past 2-3 years. I am also looking to change my car but kept quiet just because I can't afford it. No proper increments in salary, no good job switching options in the market at present. My daily expenses have raised by 50% on an avg. in Bangalore. It feels life is on pause since 2-3 years in terms of money inflow.

I have been trying to purchase nexon S amt petrol.. The dealers are not offering more than 80k in cash disc.. Even I saw 100+ cars been lying in their wearhouse without sold... They don't care basically..the sales team from Tata maruti mahindra behaves like they don't care... They seems more thn a govt employee rather thn a pvt. Sidhe aur saaf shabdo me kahu to unko ghnta fark ni padta aap lo ya na lo... Wo to ye dekhenge ki car kharidne wala kaise shoes pahne hain aur kaise kapde pehne hain😂

My request to all the people in India do not buy cars for another 6 months , don't even go for used cars.....just keep patience ...unless the rates decline on new cars don't buy it don't fall for the trap....unless there is demand supply will be available ....the demand stops supply will loose...Trust me a time will come the golden days will come back when most hatch back top models were priced at 5-7 lakhs ...they will be forced to lower their rates ....sedans will come down to 10 lakhs and SUV segment will also become affordable 😂

There is always a limit for Car Sales against declining demand. How oftain you can buy a Car or change your car unless the technology improves drastically & start feeling it's outdated compared to present offerings.
It's foolishness on part of Car manufacturers to keep on increasing their production without great demand & pileing up stocks.
Incase at present they are offering BIG discounts. It means they had inflated their Car pricing to earn huge profits. Instead they should have offered at realistic Pricing when there was good demand.
Tax structure has not changed in the recent past for the Sales nos. to be affected. The demand for new Cars has reduced to half. That's the reason of Panic in Auto Market. It's become a BUYERS Market.
If situation remains same, from December chances are Car Co. might offer you Cars at Zero % interest.
In cities like Pune and Bangalore, Dealers are not giving discounts as enquiries are more at dealership, though it is not converting to sale still heavy discounts are not offered, only in NCR and Northern India discounts are offered
