Really enjoyed this video. As a disabled person, please consider just saying "disabled." Euphemisms like "alter-abled" are often seen as actually ableist and sometimes infantalizing. We (those of us who are) are disabled and that's ok and there's nothing wrong with using the word "disabled."

We absolutely need to talk more about decks we don’t love/aspects of decks we don’t love on TarotTube! Sometimes I feel like the hype around certain decks are so intense that I almost gaslight myself and feel crazy for having a different opinion/experience with those decks. Case in point, I bought the “This Might Hurt” tarot because of the hype (mainly from Lisa Papez) and I never use it because I don’t care for the art style. Side note, the three trees tarot decks do have full guidebooks but they are digital and frankly very hard to print because of the ebook format. I’d love if they offer a printed guidebook for those of us who do better with physical guidebooks. Great tag!

I'm the exception to the apparent rule because prefer cards with borders to cards without borders. For me, borders create a vessel to hold the message of the card for me. I tend to use cards that have borders far more than cards without borders because cards that are borderless.

I'm sure others will be sterner than I was i could have done this with every deck in my collection, but it would be like 14 videos!
I'm so glad you mentioned some of these don't likes, they are total no-no's to me! I can't understand WHY creators do things like don't have the cards in any sort of order/index etc! To do that and then put the cards randomly into different sections (there's another deck that does that, called something about prairie) is absolutely unforgiveable to my mind. 😜

Great video! My absolute Loves Me Not has been the Nicoletta Ciccoli. I got it when it first came out and for years it triggered the heck out of me but wouldn't explain itself. Then last month I got me the Shell Oracle which I pair with the Ciccoli and would you believe; it sings! Hope one day yours also give you the love you deserve ❤
I don't have any Ciccoli decks.
These are all relatively small pet peeves I have. I really enjoy them for the most part.

April, I’d love more videos like this! So many decks to gush over, but also many pet peeves as well!
So, for Oak Ash & Thorn, the borders REALLY bother me once I got the deck in person. Adam Oehlers artwork NEEDS to NOT have borders! (Btw, I love the Soul Cats Tarot, which he also illustrated for Leeza Robertson. I think you would love this one).
I would agree with you on many of the cards, that the illustrations, beautiful as they are, don’t really emote the card they’re depicting, which makes me want to know more about what the author’s take on it might be, but then, we have no book. I find myself reaching more for Thistledown Oracle.
As for getting a deck and just not resonating with it, I’ve definitely been there. However, I’ve found that if I purchased it because I truly resonate with the artwork, I put it aside with the inner knowing that my spirit chose this deck, but it’s just not ‘our time’ yet. So far, this has been true. On the other hand, if I was swayed by a trend, then I usually regret the purchase.
I really belive that Shadows od light Oracle will eventually click. I stopped getting rid of decks because I know I will change and my life will too. Who knows if it will be a deck for a different season!
Love this concept. The last one Earth Moon and Shadow seems to be unavailable right now. But definitely powerful!

👀An interesting tag - I'll have a think on it. Like you, I don't like things that make the deck (and guidebook) harder to navigate -- like, why not just alphabetize oh my goodness.

The playful heart is a very lovely deck, the backs are so enticing. I'm waiting patiently for Naomi's expansion pack. She hinted at one a few years ago 🤞

I have this deck, but never reach for it. It’s very playful, but I bought it as a beginner and never really understood the imagery. The Page of Cups in this deck is an image I hold onto.

👁👀 Spacious Tarot and Monsoon Tarot: The two decks that has become my go-to-decks. Don't like the flip-boxes cuz I'm always worried to wear out the hinges so I keep Spacious Tarot in a bag. I wish Monsoon Tarot came in a two-part box and its guidebook included creator's insights as to the whys for each card. Thank you for this video

I used the stolen child tarot for my year ahead spread for 2023 to connect with it. N her website she does have a print on demand book. It's like 12 bucks and I got it in like 4 days. So helpful.

Sometimes just beautiful images but may not make sense in the card. Then ill rely on the books explanation. But if its not there....🤔☹️
I find some decks have cards too different from each other & or they dont match description words. But i do love diversity but of decks but not within that one deck. Thank you for this review. Its great someone dares mention this out loud. 🙏🙏🙏

An interesting video. I agree with your LovesMeNot points. I did not buy many of the decks for those same reasons. I do have the Playful Tarot. Folktails Tarot and Earth Moon and Shadow decks and love them, though had to laugh and agree with you. I was tempted by Shadows of Light oracle but can see how it might not always be congruent, but have put it on my wish list as I am willing to give it a try. I had not heard of the Healing Energy Cards and luckily for me, I am in Australia so the postage won't be a killer for once. Thanks for a another great video

I have the Tarot of the Holy Land with the book Volume 1, but I need to get the book Volume 2. Also, I have the Feminine Wisdom Oracle and the Cosmic Vision Tarot, which I think is OOO print now.
Christine's second book is all on esoteric studies. It's a mind bender!

Great # VR you set up. I have a few of these decks and agree with some of you points. I’ve had my eyes on Earth, Moon, and Shadow Oracle for some time, but there is one card that turns me off. I guess If I was using this for shadow work, that card would really take me deep….I hadn’t thought about that until now…hmmm Maybe it’s back on my wish list.
I really love the deck. It's so powerful. Get the book. It's worth every penny
@@TarotandWitchery thanks for the feedback. I’ve signed up fir their news letter as 1st edition is sold out, but they are doing the 2nd edition. The price for 1st edition on etsy and eBay are meant for collectors (way out of my price range).

👁 :) I hope publishers watch this. The same things that are love me not for you bother me too. Some are, frankly, deal breakers. I've rehomed or returned decks with unusable guidebooks. It's lazy editing to not put a table of contents or an index in a book and it instantly tells me the publisher/creator/editor has no clue about actually using these decks as tools.

I have a few decks that I don't use because they are not God enough to be worth the trouble!
Those decks where the borders botherbyou ...I would cut 3 borders and keep tge border with the name on

Against borders, against big cards cause I have very small hands, bad quality cards " Too thin as Too thick"!
Sometimes when the other side of the cards DON'T MATCH the deck AT ALL !!! I don't like dark colors where you have trouble making out the actual beautiful image!

I’m really bored of tarot tubers constantly complaining about the lack of diversity in decks. I just feel like it’s virtue signalling now. Like no one needs to see themselves represented in a deck in order to connect with it or read with it. Deck creators are so focused on this now they’re missing the mark in creating really interesting and unique decks that have symbolism and show the true meanings of the cards. Not a personal attack on yourself, just something I’m tired of hearing.
