- Kalahari Water Park Round Rock Texas is the newest Kalahari Resort. The Kalahari Water Park Round Rock Texas is home of the "Largest Indoor Waterpark in the United States." We highly recommend checking this place out whether you are an Austin area local or tourist. We only live about 30 minutes away, so we booked this as a weekend staycation. Our 10 year old daughter kept commenting that "this place has everything". She didn't want to leave and wants to come back every weekend.
In this video we tried to feature almost everything this place has. We think we did a pretty good job, although there is still probably more to see. This video showcases all the shopping options, Quick-Serve dining options, Full Service Restaurants, Lounges & Bars, Pool Bars, Entertainment, Outdoor Pools and Slides, Cabana rental and it even quickly touches on the Convention Center which is a large part of the hotel. We never tried the spa, so that is an area still missing from the video.
Kalahari Resort & Conventions state that they are "full-service vacation destinations including meeting & convention facilities that combine America's largest indoor Waterparks with the magic of Africa."
They claim they deliver beyond all expectations. Well, I think they are right. This place was pretty amazing. After a couple of hours there we completely forgot we were only 30 minutes from home. We felt like we were at some far away resort.
If you are a local, you can buy day passes to the waterpark as well as Tom Foolerys Adventure Park. Hotel guests get full use of the waterpark at no additional charge. While I wouldn't say the full service restaurants on location are cheap, I don't feel that they gouge you on price the way Disney or other resorts of the kind do. It is somewhat more expensive than my restaurant down the street, but not crazily overpriced. I can see us just going there to enjoy the restaurants with friends on a weekend.

How was the check in process? We will be there on Christmas Eve through Christmas. I heard the check in process is horrible. Was the waterpark crowded?
It took a bot longer than a usual hotel because the have to give you wristbands, connect them to your credit card and verify activities you signed up for.
I have one question Does the water park have any limit’s of people in?
@@Luvlybyeol27 They adhere to all State and county restrictions. They are nowhere close to full occupancy. This is actually the best time to go. Shorter lines for slides. After Covid the lines will be long.

I went to Kalahari in December and February 2020-2021 and its amazing, I love it and I'm also Nigerian so it was cool to see something that had some of my culture

The video we shot was on the weekend. I didn’t think it was overly crowded. The standard room is just like in our video.

Hi, once again I completely forgot to ask..my grandparents are going they dislike anything around their wrist..do they have to wear the wristband given to be around the resort and WATERPART?
@@adrianafernandez8222 They do not need to wear a wristband anywhere inside the resort except the Waterpark. The waterpark requires you to scan your wristband to gain entrance. If they have no plans to go to the waterpark, it shouldn't be a problem. However if they want to go to the waterpark just to watch, I don't think they will be allowed in without wristbands. I would double check with the front desk to be sure.
Is anything included in the stay other than access to the water park, or are all activities at extra cost?
We are taking the kids in a couple months & are really excited.
Depending on the package you get, Tom Foolery’s may or may not be included. I would keep an eye out for one that does. Unlike the water park, Tom Foolery’s, if included, is good for only 1 day of your visit.

Looks like somewhere I would love to take my kids my question is say for instance the water park do you have to pay to enter or per day?
If you stay one night, the water park is the included on the day you arrive and the day you depart. You can also buy just a day pass and bring the kids.

how was the water tempature in both the indoor pools and outdoor pools?
Outdoor pools are closed during the winter. Indoor pools were great. They even have indoor/outdoor hot tubs available year round.

Did you guys purchase all the activitie son line or were they purchased on date of arrival?
We bought a package on their website which included room and Adventure park. If you stay there you can use the Waterpark at no charge.
Is the indoor water park heated ? I would like to go for Christmas days but it may be a bit cold
Yes. The whole huge indoor area is pretty humid even when not in the water. You won’t feel cold.

Awesome review! I'd like to go there in November should the anime convention Colossalcon Texas actually takes place November 19-21st. I've been to the Kalahari Sandusky and Kalahari Poconos for Colossalcon, but definitely want to visit the newest one. We'll see how things are come the end of the year.

I would assume weekdays, but have only stayed on the weekend so I am unsure. Just check out their website and that will give you the answer you are looking for.

I really don't understand the pricing structure the day passes are only slightly cheaper than the monthly passes. The Tom Foolery stuff just includes attractions and you have to pay full price for ALL the arcade games. They said if you signup for newsletters there is local discounts but didn't get any yet.
I think they are really trying to push monthly passes.

No.
do you need to book the hotel in order to go to the waterpark?
No, you can buy a day pass. However, depending on how many day passes you need, it can be cheaper to book a room as that gives you waterpark access both the day you arrive and the day you leave.

They do not. No weight requirements, just height.
There are weight requirements for the big family tube slides that hold 2-4 people. The max weight can vary from 700-800 depending on the slide.

It is huge. Easy to get around in though. You will figure it out pretty quickly.

How late do these bars and lounges stay open??? Especially the Grotto
Most restaurants and bars are open till 10pm or 11pm on weekends. Redd’s Piano Lounge is open to 2am on the weekends.

The restaurants were great! I don’t know how much we spent for food, but we could have done it cheaper if you use the walkup dining options vs. the sit down restaurants.

It always includes the waterpark on the day you arrive and the day you leave. You can sometimes find deals that also include Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park, but only for a single day. If the booking doesn’t include that, it is extra.

You have to wear a mask to go into this oh no we are planning a big party not wearing a mask if that is the case we will find another venue
I was there a couple of weeks ago before Omicron and masks were not required. I would call and see. Omicron may have changed things since then. No matter what though, masks are not required at the indoor pool.

They showed no African restaurants at this resort. I can’t believe that they would build a African resort and not be able to try African cuisine, that’s so sad.
There is a Marrakesh Market, not sure if they have anything lime that in there, but I understand.
I hope they will think about adding some African food someday if they don’t have any. It would be nice just to experience some of the food they eat. I feel like it would just add a more authentic feel to a African theme resort.
