- Hello crafty friends! After I debuted my 1st set of cards using the January 2023 SheetLoad of Cards there were quite a few of you who were wondering if you could make mini envelopes for your card fronts using the original sized envelope punch board versus the mini envelope punch board that I used. Since I own them both I thought I would do a little comparison video for you. In this video I will try different sizes, let you know my favorites and then tell if you if I think it is worth it to invest in the mini version. I hope you will watch to find out. :)

I have gotten a lot of questions about the app I use to calculate odd-sized envelopes. I have an iPhone and use this app: apple.co/3Qoo5iO If you have an Android phone you could try searching in your app store for 'envelope punch board' and see if anything comes up.
I didn't even know this was an option! Thanks - what a great idea! I have an Android so I'll go on the hunt. If I find an app, I'll post it in the comments so other people can find it.

Thank you for the very informative video. I only have the full size envelope punch board, and have struggled in the past to create a particular size envelope. I have found it helpful to use the envelope maker attached to my scoreboard. There is a bit more room for adjustment on that which has really come in handy so that is one more option (for those of us owning the scoreboard) too.

Before I saw the video with the mini envelope punch I saw it at Joann’s on clearance and left it there!! Once I saw your video I went back and got it for less than $8! I bought the larger one that day too online because they where 50% off. Thank you again for everything you do!
You scored! They’re so versatile. Sometimes my original punch board the punch part will come off. Don’t think it’s ruined, just align the springs back on and give it a snap back on. Mine is the olllddd. One

I have the original version, and a couple of dies that make mini envelopes. I honestly didn't know there was a mini. When you used it, I thought they must make them in cream now.
It does look very similar... and then when you put up to the original, it looks *tiny* :) thanks for watching, Karla!

What an informative video. Thank you! It got me thinking about making a card with an envelope that would hold a gift card! I may have to have a play with that today!!! Thank you again! PS I did find an app for my android phone. 'Box/Envelope Calculator'. It's set up a bit differently, but the results are the same.

That's extremely helpful, thank you so much for all your work!!! I have a large scoreboard that comes with a triangular guide to make envelopes. It starts at 5x5 inches, like the large envelope punch board, and I tried your preferred measurement, just to see if it would work. And it works perfectly with the guide as well. I'll give the app a try as well.

I have gone thru 3 mini envelope boards over past 5 years. Have found that regular board works if I cut notches myself on minis

I have both the 1-2-3 and the mini and love them both. (I was so excited when I saw the Jan23 Sheetload-I’ve used mini envelopes on other Sheetloads in the past). I use them both as corner rounders as well so they’re multi-taskers.
Good idea to use it as a corner rounder too - I never thought of that! A few people have mentioned the 1-2-3 board - that is one I do not have... hmmm.. ;) thanks for watching!
I have had the regular size boards for years, never had any problems, but I am on my third mini. The first two the punch itself broke. Now I can be brave to use the big ones if this third one breaks, too, lol. (I’m going to order two more off Amazon, because I really love the mini for my journals!)

Very interesting! I have both envelope punch boards so I've never really thought about it! Certainly interesting to see the difference! Another thought for those who don't have the punch board- some scoring boards have a plate to put on the scoreboard to do envelopes. I know that the Martha Stewart one has one and I'm pretty sure a few others do too. Thanks for sharing!

There is a cute die that cuts envelope and also has a heart on the flap so easy one die cut

Thank you for doing this video! I love the tiny envelopes. I have the larger envelope punch from decades ago and apparently the dimensions were wrong and the included a new sticker but mine is lost. You mentioned an app that tells you?

My original punch board bit the dust recently, so I got the 1-2-3 punch board.. I need to check to see if that board does mini envelopes.
I have the 1-2-3 and it works just like the original (which I passed on to a friend).

Very nice..what app do you use? I was going thru this the other day...I don't have envelope dies and mini envelopes are making a comeback. I was punching and punching on my board 😆 I may need a mini punch board 🤔

Can you make a regular size (4x5) envelope on the mini? I love little envelopes .
The board says the mini makes up to a 4" x 4" envelope. Because of the smaller size, it limits the length of score line you can make. TFW :)

I don’t think I realized what the difference was between the mini and the regular but once you showed it it made sense. I don’t like to buy a lot of unitasker tools but the envelope punches do seem worth having, especially since you can make so many custom sizes. I use my regular one more often than I expected.
