I needed this!! I’m 2 months pp. I started supplementing with formula because I thought I wasn’t producing enough milk. So with me losing sleep, not eating or drinking enough and pumping because a bit much when I was so tired.. I loss my supply. Now I’m only getting under an oz…but I’m going to start back pumping because I really want to breastfeed her. Thank you!!

Thank you so much for this video. I am going through the process now of trying to bring my milk supply back, which can be discouraging. My son is now 18 months and I never was able to get him to latch. Since he was a preemie and I wanted to be certain of the amount he was drinking, I exclusively breast pumped since he was born. Although he is now on solids, I still want him to have breast milk because of the pandemic. Although he is on solids, this video was a good reminder of the importance of pumping if I want to continue to offer him breast milk. The pictures you provided were so helpful!

I’m at two months pp and was worried that my milk supply is getting low and that there would be nothing I could do about it. With the formula shortage (and we supplement) I started to get really worried that as he got older and ate more of it, I wouldn’t be able to find formula and still not have enough milk. But this video helped! Gives me confidence, if you can do it at 6 months I can do it at 2. Thank you for all the tips!
Every other video I’ve seen on YT are usually from women who produce a lot bc they started very early and kept at it. Since that’s not the case with me I’m so glad I ran into you vid. Thanks again!!

@@marieangeliquepelen4005 I stopped at about 5 1/2 months, tried my best to make it to 6months. It’s really hard. My hat goes off to the women who do this especially exclusively. I found it hard to get anything done, go anywhere since life revolved around pumping. The hardest part was, trying to entertain her while pumping. To get her to sit and play with her mobile or pay attention to a book etc for 20min straight was really difficult and made pumping stressful cause chances were high that she’d be awake during a pump session. How did you do it?
My baby was able to latch on well so it was never a latching issue either, she was just able to eat a lot because of the bottle, I never knew how much she’d eat from the breast alone. And as she grew it was hard to keep up with the supply.
If I ever start back up, I will be consulting this video!

I love this video so much!! Thank you so much for making it! I did most of these steps when I had a sudden drop in supply due to her being a lazy nurser the first couple of months. I even had to use the little tube thingy for a couple weeks. I went to a lactation consultant a few times and we got a good routine down but she suddenly went through a HORRIBLE breastfeeding strike. She would scream bloody murder, stretch as hard as she could and try to push me away 😢 So I haven't breast fed in a few weeks. She is almost 6 months now. It has always been important to me to be able to breastfeed for at least 6 months but I really want to go to a year now and see where it goes.
She no longer gets mad when I try but still seems uninterested. I am lucky to still be able to squeeze small amounts of milk out so this gives me extra hope that I can build up a supply and return to breastfeeding! Between her sensitive tummy and this formula shortage, it'll be so much better for both of us 💖

I got lucky to have a baby that was so eager to eat but that may not be the case with the new little. I'm 4mo pregnant currently and hope to breastfeed the whole first year.

After a weeks or so I stopped bf because I was sore and it hurt every time my baby would suck. I decided to stop for a few days and my boobs suddenly felt empty and then my baby would get so mad and frustrated when I was trying to get her to latch… so I gave up and started doing formula and she was just about two weeks old. I can’t stop thinking how I gave up so easily and thought I didn’t have any milk… now I know I should have continue. I want to pump but it is so demanding… how do you get to pump so many times a day with a baby asking for your attention at all times?

Hi if you are still attempting to BF I’m an exclusive pumper, and it takes dedication the best advice I can give is if you are determined get yourself a wireless pump setup and a pumping bra, it helped me to but able to pump as needed by not needing to be attached to the wall. Also I find if I bottle feed my baby and then pump 15min after and put them in a swing or a jumper for the 15min that I’m pumping it’s just enough time and they should be calm after eating, atleast mine is, hope it helps you!

My baby didn't latch and so I wasn't able to breastfeed him at all. I did have some milk post my delivery but cause he didn't suck and I didn't pump(cause of lack of knowledge) it just dried up. I see some drops of milk when I try to express..it's been 2months post his birth now. Is it possible to relactate now? I've got an electric pump handy... Also how long will it take for me to give him atleast a bit of my breastmilk since I hardly see some drops in my breast.

    • @SashaArella
      @SashaArella  Před 2 lety +2

That’s amazing news!! The drops are such a good sign you’ll do great relactating. Start pumping as soon as you can and whenever it starts to go into the bottle you can add that into his formula until you’re making enough for the full serving! Even those little drops count and he’ll get all the benefits from that alone!

I had twins and was so dedicated to pumping. I was an over supplier, but once my babies started sleeping through the night super early I stopped pumping at night and my supply tanked. I had a hard time giving up pumping all together even though they were both on formula. I would pump at least once a day so I wouldn't lose my supply completely. At about 5 months I let my ppd take over and I completely gave up. I think I'm in the mental place to try again and really want it for my babies and I. They are 7 months. thank you for your advice. You definitely can, it will take a lot of work but best way to try is to pump frequently like she says in her video. Oatmeal helps and I have also used the Boobie Body protein shake as well to help my supply stay up. Once you’re milk comes in if it’s possible to bring the baby to your breast as much as possible, you could start it off as like snacks so not when the baby is hungry but more content and they’ll be able to cooperate better.

Dont worry. You dont have to stop formula right away. You can still give him the suitable formula while trying to relactate, so you dont have to feel lots of burden of weight losing.
Have u tried different bf position? The finnball could be quite comfy for both mommy and baby.
And also if pumping with machine isn’t comfortable for you, try the handexpress method, where you massage your breastmilk out with hands. Its a lot faster and comfortable for me🙂 could prevent your nipple from sore.
Try to pump or massage 3-4 times a day…
