EXTREMELY HELPFUL....thanks man!!
Sweet. My husband's been bugging me about my cloudy headlights, and finally suggested I just replace them. That never occured to me (I've been avoiding just cleaning them - they're pretty bad), so I thought I'd look for a video on how to do it. Doesn't seem too complicated. Hopefully he won't care if I have to pull the bumper off. Looks fun. Thanks!
thank you! This was the first time i was able to fix anything about my car by myself!
I`ve been fixing stuff all my life but still come to utube before doing anything.
THANKS THIS really helped me out, took me 3 hours tho lol
Thank-you very well done, lots of helpful detail. My sister is super talented with cars, but alas she is travelling, which is great for her. But here I am with a burnt out light bulb, thanks to your video with some trial and error I managed to change it. I had trouble taking the bulb out of the grey clip, it was tight and stuck, but just kept gently trying as I did not wish to break anything. All the best.
I recently changed out my 2005 Corolla headlights. I found several clips holding the bumper cover assembly. I didn't want to replace these. However, I also found that when I removed the screws from the wheel wells I was able to pull the bumper cover down at the side to allow removal of the headlight side screws. The whole process took me 2 hours for both headlights, other than the 20 minutes looking for a screw dropped into my engine compartment. So have a tray for your screws.
you prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Melvin Jackson Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Melvin Jackson It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass !
Thanks for the great video, you saved me a ton of time.
Hey guess what i didnt finish to watch your video and you already got one more subscriber.
this is how other people should do so we know exactly how to do the job. Thanks budy i feel more confident to open bumper.
Excellent instructions. I just received an '08 Corolla LE as a gift with only 34k miles but due to age the headlight plastic has become hazy. Both of them. I saw brand new on ebay (a pair) for only 87 bucks.
Thanks, man! This video was a huge help!
Thanks great help changed my fuzzy headlamps 🌞🌞🌞
Great video here on how to remove a headlamp off a Toyota Corolla. Wow what a shame that Toyota made such a crappy design to where you have to remove the front bumper off the car in order to remove a headlamp, that is such a terrible design and waste hours doing so! But this video really cleared that up I knew the whole time that I had to remove the front bumper just didn't know it would be this advanced. Great video keep up the great work happy New Year as well! 🥳
Yup..terrible design for sure! Probably done that way so more can be charged by shop to do the job.
I love the video.. was just able to change my head lamps in 20 mins....not mechaniclly gifted here
Great job. Thank you. It really helped me.
Thank you for the video!
Thanks for the time & effort & information!
God bless 😁🙏👍🇺🇲❤
Great video. I stalled my new mirror perfectly!
Muito bom, parabéns ótimo vídeo.
How long would it take you from start to finish to change out the headlight assembly? Thank you
great vid! detailed.
Thanks for this video. Knowing where all the clips and bolts are made it a lot easier. Also did it solo
I found difficulty to reach rhs parking light coz the metal block is there, is there any better way other than taking off the whole assembly?
Good teacher
really great video. thanks! would've been nice if you actually changed the headlight, though
I Have A Question How Do you Replace The Snap Clip That Attaches to The Bulb?.. Mine Is Brittle and Looks like it's About to Break?..
Does anyone know whether it is similar to models 2008-2001?
I can not find a video tutorial for this model
Would have loved to see the bolt/fastener locations.
I use T-cut paint polish to get rid of clouding. Works great but you have to do it every year.
What that tank behind there for
Is there anything different about the left side housing or is it all just reversed?
Tom Boots - the only difference is there is something on that side near the battery that you will need to disconnect. Well it makes it easier. Pops right off. I installed mine without removing the bumper but man did I cut up my hands and scratch up the bumper a bit. Had no idea why it was so difficult. So for the next assembly (only did the left side). Now, that I’ve seen this, I’ll prob take the bumper off. Sounds scary tho. And I don’t have a driveway or street. Apt bldg. people frown on any car work.
Video is terrific, but it needs to say assembly in the title. I am changing the assembly, but people just wanting to change their headlight will be confused
you should turn your wheels, gives more space to work under ;)
Good video but you don't need to take the bumper off or even the headlight assembly to replace a bulb etc.
+Simon Vance He already said that at 0:56 This for replacing the whole headlight assembly.
Well, we won't forget that this job takes a 10 millimeter socket.
You don't need to take the bumper off to replace the bulb. Just reach around if its on the left side, and if its on the right side take the battery out and reach around. I wish I knew this when I fist replaced the bulb.
+Steven Crum He already said that at :56 This for replacing the whole headlight assembly.
Thanks for sharing procedure for changing the headlight HOUSING. However, title is misleading. I'm hoping to share this vid with my daughter so she can change herown headlight BULB, but it would not be clear (for a non-mechanic) which of these procedure she needs to do and not need to do in order to replace the BULB.
No es necesario desarmarlo todo para el toyota Corolla 2003 solo la bateria y listo
The J4ps aren't all that efficient really, are they?
See a volvo headlight, actual whole headlight unit replacement takes 30 seconds.
You don't need to drop the front bumper cover to remove the headlight housings. I have a 2004 Corolla. I removed both headlight housings, I never touched the bumper cover.
You also don't need to block your license plate. That's some weird paranoia that started with people selling used cars. When you drive around, you see license plates. If someone sees your license plate in a video, it's not like he can look up your address on the license branch website and steal your car the next day.
Only want to replace the bulb.
A week ago both of the headlights to my 2004 Toyota Corolla CE went out. Last night on my way home from the gym a cop pulled me over and I got away with it being the handsome, smooth talking man that I am. It got me thinking I should schedule an appointment with the car dealership to get them replaced. However, I am concerned that they might charge me at least $150. I just don't want to get caught riding dirty anymore! By the way, I have no mechanical skills to do this.
It's super-easy to just change the bulb. You just undo the little clip where the wires attach to the bulb and pull the wires away, then twist the bulb and pull it out. To install the new one, just line it up and push it in then twist to lock in place. Pop the wire attachment back on and you're done!
Kjetil Hansen It's semi-easy. My driver-side one blew out a month ago and it was really awkward trying to squeeze my hands in there due to the battery being so close. The passenger side bulb is easy as pie to replace, however.
***DEAR PEOPLE, THAT'S RIGHT, IT WAS NOT NECESSARY REMOVE THE BUMPER TO CHANGE THE BULBS***, but the truth is that is a very uncomfortable access. I prefer do not remove the bumper to minimize the liabilities.
*installed
This is the most difficult way to change a bulb. Is this video created to scare people back to the shop? I can change all bulbs in the matter of minutes
,
Change the whole lens not headlights
i lost my 10mm socket
All this to change a bulb!!!!!
So..all because of ONE screw/bolt located on the side, a person has to remove the entire front bumper just to replace head lamp. Poor design for sure.
Lol, at least two times tripping over the bumper cover? Bro, slow down, you are huffing and puffing like you took some speed me up before you did this vid. Smdh
Super helpful and easy instructions to follow! I replaced my 2006 corolla headlights with my fiance today. We have never worked on a car before, but this video made it possible! Thank you so so much!!
