As for your comment, I would first like to say that Arabic is a very delicate, intricate language. Meaning, the lines for literal translation to English often become blurred due to the fact that many Arabic words have numerous meanings. Secondly, Salim, was a freed slave and adopted by Abu Hudhaifah & Sahlah. He was about the age of puberty (13-14) when this incident happened, meaning that it would no longer be permissible for Salim to enter upon Sahlah without her hijab. This became a problem in the household because they saw him as a son but adoption was not a thing in that time period. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) suggested to give Salim Sahlah’s breastmilk, thus creating the basis of motherhood and rendering it permissible to not wear the hijab around him.

Leena, you are the one which has inspired me to wear hijab. I am a revert to Islam and I feel like now is the right time for me to start wearing the hijab, I just wish I’d done it so much earlier.
