I love how you photoshopped the books into the character photos 😂
Me, too! What a wonderful touch!
i think jo would also love a room of one’s own! :)
Agree!
Totally!
You could do a whole video on Pride and Prejudice characters! It would be fun to see what you’d recommend to Mr. and Mrs. Bennett and the rest of the sisters…and Lady Catherine de Bourgh?!
I’d also love to know what you’d recommend to Shakespeare characters, like Juliet and Hamlet and Ophelia. ❤
I would recommend Heathcliff a mental health book like ‘The Body Keeps The Score’ 😂 That man needs therapy
I would recommend that Jane Eyre read Jean Rhys The Wide Sargasso Sea! It could saver her a lot of trauma.
And also deprive her of her entire story 😂😅
@@kacky_snorgle Jane is so amazing that her alternative, Rochester free story would also be well worth reading!
@@aramintagreavesfibreista1963 But that would be a different story and we'd never know how she'd be in that.
I saw Elio and it was an immediate click ❤️😭
This was super fun! It would be cool to see a recommendation for Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones, and Jamie Fraser from Outlander.
I’m a French speaker from Switzerland. So I have the chance to read « Le Comte de Monte Cristo » in French, I’m very happy that English speaker like our famous authors 😊 Totally agree for Heathcliff ! Great video :) (Sorry if I made some English mistakes)
I'm a teacher. Don't apologize for your English. You know two (at least) languages. That's more than me. Second, your English is better than what some native speakers type.
Thank your for your lovely comment 😊
What a great idea for a video!
I love this idea!! I can't wait to see more! I would also love to see you recommend contemporary books to classic authors, what books from our time do you think could have had an impact in their writings then? 🙂
This is so well done! The recommendations are on point!
Great idea for a video for Anna Karenina's Levin I would recommend A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian, a humorous novel by Marina Lewycka. Levin was very interested in agriculture and I think he'd like the humor.
An amazing idea here. Love the way you blend your thoughts with such creativity, exploring new ways of expression, art of contemplating
with wit,fun,& much joy.Thanks 💐♾️
Carolyn, i loved your idea for this video! We need a part 2! 💕💕📚💕💕
Loved this video! What a fun concept! Great recommendations 📚😊
Love this video, would love another one! This is so fun!
Carolyn your hair is BEAUTIFUL today!!!! I can’t wait for these recommendations 🥹 What would you recommend to Holden Caulfield?
Such a creative concept for a video! I loved it!
That's fantastic and creative idea! Would like to watch a part 2.
Love this concept, you really put it all together beatifully
I would really like some recommendations for the hunger games characters
I am gonna read the recommendations for Levin 😍! Thanks Carolyn! A very beautiful video!
This video is so wholesome. Thank you, Carolyn! And thank you for the author portraits you sent me 🥰 I love them.
Love this video idea!
I'd recommend parenting books to Victor Frankenstein 😂
I'd also recommend Jane Eyre to Catherine Morland (Northanger Abbey)
So clever -- thank you! I love that you recommend Big Magic for Jo March! 🙂
I love this concept!
Such a great video idea! 👏🏼 I loved it 💕
What a great idea! 💚 amazing recommendations 👌🏻
This was great! Would definitely love to see more c:
love this concept!!!
You are so creative! Such a great idea. Loved it. Hace a great week! ❤
This is such a great idea for a video!
I need this idea as a collection of short shorties and those characters on their book reading journey with these books!
What a marvelous and very creative video. I really enjoyed watching it. Thanks much.
Such a fun video! ✨
Love this concept ❤
Carolyn, Thanks for posting this video.
Love this video! Yes, part 2, please! I'd recommend The Storied Life of A J Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin to Silas Marner. It's an homage to SM, and Silas needs some guidance! What about Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy? Poor Jude, he needs a lot of joy. How about Clytemnestra from Agamemnon by Aeschylus? She needs so much help. I love this so much! (Pa-TROKE-less -- the middle bit rhyms with poke)
This is such a fun video!!! :)
this is such a good video idea!!
What a fantastic idea!!
this video was soo creative, i really enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed. Thank you
This was so cute! I'd love to see another version of this video but with children's literature/children's classics! For instance, I'd love to know what you'd recommend to the Little Prince, Despereaux, and others. :)
I just read Foster last night. It was my first Keegan book, and oh my goodness!! My heart. It was so touching
I am new to your channel and I'm enjoying it. I wondered other than classis and non fiction books what other genre's do you read? I have many authors I follow and wondered if we liked any of the same. 😊
Wow!!! Your recommendation for them was spot on!!!! Love it.. I think it's impeccable for each characters!!! Read some of those and yes!!! I totally agree with u!!!!❤❤😊😍
Little Women is the perfect recommendation for Lizzie!! I just love her and that book so so much!!
You are one of the most creative booktubers I know! This video helps to remember these amazing iconic characters and to identify ourselves in them and if we were them, what books would we read. Want it or not this video is a book rec for all of us as well but in a more fun and creative way!❤️🫶🏼
Edmond Dantès I honestly was thinking of The Brothers Karamazov for him. Since there is also such a weird love story. so many things that just make you think and I think he would really like that.
I'd love to watch a part two, maybe even a part three! I need to know what book you would recommend to Mr. Fox from Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl
And would like to know what book you would recommend to Alonso Quijano and Sancho Panza from Don Quixote by Miguel de Cerventes, as well as your recommendation to Gregor Samsa from The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
What books would you recommend to Holden Caulfield and Ethan From? Color me intrigued. Thanks for the video.
the editing was on point 😂
'Patroclo' the accent on the letter a 😊. By the way, I loved Achille's Song.
I love this concept! Can you recommend a book to Katniss Everdeen? and Rory Gilmore? and Hermione? oh and Bella Swan?😁😊
Such a clever video idea - thank you for sharing! ❤️🌈📚
A couple characters that may be fun could be: Holden Caulfield, Scout or Jem Finch, Laurie, Pip (great expectations)
What would you recommend to Margery Tyrell from the game of thrones
I would recommend to Winston Smith - FM 21-76, Department of the Army Field Manual - Survival, Evasion, and Escape.
I noticed that you have the Neapolitan novels on your list (by Elena Ferrante). Amazing series
I think Levin would love Into the wild! I think Elio would love the Goldfinch ❤
How about the characters Pechorin, Aljoscha Karamazov and Vronsky?
The Song of Achilles for Elio is perfect.
Could you do a video recommending living authors to long-dead authors, if those long-dead authors got the chance to pop into the here and now to read a book, and then get to respond to that book? For example, if the ghost of Virginia Woolf popped up, would you recommend that she read Claire Keegan? If Tolstoy popped into the modern day, who would you have him read - would you recommend that he read Frederik Backman?
what would you rec to achilles and patroclus??
have you seen the 1992 version of wuthering heights with ralph fiennes and juliette binoche? it was his first movie role. it was a tv movie. but it was soooo good! he's what i picture when i think of heathcliff
Such a good movie! ❤
I would recommend to Levin “into the wild” by Jon Krakauer ❄️
I wonder which books you would recommend to Kitty Shcherbatsky (Anna Karenina), May Welland (The age of innocence) and Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) - the 3 female characters in the literature I am absolutely in love with.
I think Austen's “Persuasion” would fit Kitty, as it is about a vaguely similar situation as hers.
For Tamara...something magical and about nature. Maybe she would enjoy “The Sorrows of Young Werther” by Goethe (it's also about a man falling in love with a married woman, who turns him down, and focuses much on nature) or “The Winternight Trilogy” by Kathrine Arden.
I would recommend Elizabeth (not read yet Pride and Prejudice) the Tale of Genji, for no reason. I just felt so. LOL
Love this idea. Heathcliff would absolutely love The Count of Monte Cristo 😂
Recommend The Creature from Frankenstein a book too!!! He loves to read but you only recommended a book to Victor 😢
Hi, Carolyn -- what book you would recommend to Holden Caulfied? And don't say David Copperfield!
In my opinion, best Victor Frankenstein is Peter Cushing in hammer's adaptation by Terence Fisher.
A bit off-topic, but, since you've mentioned them in this video... It's open field, I guess, for the following question: Is there a chronological component to the Brontë books?
I've asked this already in a DM on instagram, I thought "on CZcams there is a bigger chance I get answerd"...
I love the video
I would love to know which book you'd recommend to mr darcy
Hahaha what a fun video! 🤓👀
You did Atticus Finch. How about a children's book recommendation for Scout?
What buk wud u recommend don Quixote? I hope not a book of chivalry and giants😅
Edmond Dantes would benefit from Victor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning.
Idk I feel the phantom fro the phantom of the opera and heathcliff would vibe together
I do think The Count Of Monte Cristo would appreciate Les Miserables. He could definitely relate to being imprisoned for a start!
I would give Jo March "On writing" by Stephen King
i would recommend the bible to St John from Jane Eyre
Well, of course there's Don Quixote, a man who might enjoy War and Peace, lunacy notwithstanding. Oddly, there aren't many characters from Shakespeare with whom I'd chat, perhaps King Henry V might like the poetry of Sylvia Plath, both for its easy facility with English as well as a way of learning about women qua women. Then, perhaps there's Candide, who I'd guess would enjoy reading Freud.
Recommending The Count of Monte Cristo to Heathcliff; that was so clever!! 😂😂😂
The great Gatsby gets The stranger (Camus) from me! 😂
An alternative for Jane Eyre: "Why Miss Eyre, you are a remarkably resilient and moral young woman in the face of such adversity. However, I worry your life at gloomy Thornfield Hall and dalliance with that...mercurial Mr. Rochester has been weighed down by a bit too much stifling seriousness. Therefore, I must insist you treat yourself to a vastly entertaining novel called 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.'
In this delightful revisionist tale, the proper English drawing rooms and bucolic countryside you knew have been gloriously upended by...the undead! That's right - the madcap mashup follows the beloved Bennet sisters as they fortuitously martial warrior skills and deadly swordsmanship to defend their family and prospective suitors from zombie attackers. Just imagine Mrs. Ingram's jaw dropping if HER fiance returned from the grave!
I guarantee this bloodthirsty yet prim and proper romp will allow you to release delightful peals of mirth you haven't enjoyed since well before your dreadful school days at Lowood. Sometimes a little revisionist literary horror is required to embrace one's true feminine stoutness!"
Why not recommend books to the brothers in The Brothers Karamazov?
🧚♀️💙😭
What would Dorian Gray read?
I personally would recommend him "eugene onegin" and works from the symbolism movement: "Against nature" by Huysmans (which inspired the picture of dorian gray) for example and poetry by Baudelaire, Mallarmé, Rimbaud and Verlaine.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
