My E-06 issue turned out to be a fuel issue. The heater would switch on and run properly for about 5 mins or more then display E-06 and shut down. I pulled it apart and checked the fan was free and the sensor was spaced correctly and that was all fine. So after reading somewhere that the issue may be fuel related I checked the fuel pump and filter and noticed that the fuel filter was lower on the intake than the output side (angled downwards) and the line was lower on that side for a 6 inches or so. I cable tied it up so the line was now pretty much horizontal and its been working perfectly ever since. It apparently doesnt take much for these impulse pumps to not work and the agitation of the diesel can create air bubbles in the fuel line. Anyway what ever the issue is its now fixed (its been giving me grief for a while). So its worth checking this if this video doesn't resolve the problem. Cheers

Just fixed my error, I spent ages trying to fault find another unrelated issue with voltage - after I fixed the voltage issue I was getting E06 error as the circuit board was outside the unit whilst I was testing the unit. Didn't realise the circuit board had to be secured inside as the magnet helps regulate the fan speed.
    Cheers!

Just went through the nightmare that is installing one of these. The wire crimps at the main connector were just falling right out. I ended up having to cut the connectors out and butt connect them all. I did do a test run but after installing it no longer ran and gave this E06. I found this video and then found my gan was indeed rubbing. Mine was due to the case was slightly deformed from pushing on the carpet when I tightened the unit down. For me the fix was putting a large worm gear clamp around the end. I checked the fan spun freely and it started and ran as it should. If I could do it over I wouldn’t even waste my time installing one of these. They’re built so cheaply anything could happen.

I had an E-6 Error. The fan had moved too far AWAY from the control box which has a sensor to detect the magnets in the back of the fan so it knows how fast it is spinning. I got a socket and tapped the fan in looking at the intake end so it moved towards the control box. Needs to be about 1mm but not touching or rubbing.
That fixed the problem, let me know if it helps anyone. Very simple Fix.

have you tried to move the fan out just a tad anyways..and see if you still get scrapping with the power button pushing in... the hall sensor and the internal timing are extremely picky on these units.. its extremely doubtful but you might want to check to make sure you have 1 or 2 magnets as well on the fan and also check to see if the hall sensor is in place correctly .

are you priming it up by holding ok and down arrow..? .. error 6 ..pretty sure it means any abnormality's with the fan.. by a certain time the fan should be spinning at a correct speed ..if for some reason no fuel and its not burning correctly the fan will be spinning slow when it should be going at a set rate..so then you get error 6..

are you running with the lid closed .. nothing blocking the air or exhaust.. .. the blower section can't be blocked even a little as well . If the fan is not spinning at 100 percent at the speed its suppose to be running at it will shut down.
If the fan is rubbing even a tad as well it will cause issues. If the fan is too far away it will also cause the e6 error..

it could be because once you get the error, the unit is shutting down before its shutdown cycle that usually takes about 2-3 minutes, For example are you getting huge clouds of smoke coming out of the exhaust after the error ? If you already know you have no issues with the fan, is the lid on the unit and the intake and outtake are clear of any back pressure and same with under the unit no back pressure on the intake and exhaust? .
also are you making it to the high setting full fan before you get the error ? try to set it to high .

I also have a pinned comment from timterry8714 that explains it was the angle of his filter and pump. causing him the grief .too many air bubbles ect.

My e-6 issue was that the exhaust was connected to the chassis ground and was causing the fan to go at max Power... It's kind of weird as I thought was ok to have it grounded..
