Born in Texas, Jones first heard country music when he was seven, and was given a guitar at the age of nine. He married his first wife, Dorothy Bonvillion, in 1950, and was divorced in 1951. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was discharged in 1953. He married Shirley Ann Corley in 1954. In 1959, Jones recorded "White Lightning", written by J. P. Richardson, which launched his career as a singer. His second marriage ended in divorce in 1968; he married fellow country music singer Tammy Wynette a year later. Years of alcoholism compromised his health and led to his missing many performances, earning him the nickname "No Show Jones". After his divorce from Wynette in 1975, Jones married his fourth wife, Nancy Sepulvado, in 1983 and became sober for good in 1999. Jones died in 2013, aged 81, from hypoxic respiratory failure.
George Jones has been called "The Rolls Royce Of Country Music" and had more than 160 chart singles to his name from 1955 until his death in 2013. Johnny Cash once said, "When people ask me who my favorite country singer is, I say, 'You mean besides George Jones?'" celebrity graves grave of little jimmy dickens grave of tammy wynette nashville cemetery tour mausoleum

George and Tammy should have been put together. They truly loved one another
I love George Jones, he was my favorite singer
Mine too
Johnny Paycheck is buried very close to George. He owned the plot and paid for his burial if I remember correctly.
You do...
I, and my parents and two of my sister's went to go see Tammy in concert one year. And at her concert we went to meet her back stage that night.
George Jones was a gifted singer who loves his fans and sang about his life of drinking and getting drunk. So he was called no snow Jones.
I saw right before you arrived at Tammy Wynette crypt was Jerry Reed, his last name was Hubbard. I was glad to find his.
Thanks for sharing the great singers of country music will not be forgotten
I love George Jones one of my favorites is Grand Tour
U just missed the great Lynn Anderson who was right behind you.. What a singer she was... Her song.. I am alone.. is one of the best country songs ever recorded.
I saw that too and I've always loved her music !
"I Am Alone" was an emotional powerhouse. ❤️
One of the most touching things i ever saw was Vince Gill and Patty Loveless singing "Go Rest High on that Mountain" for George Jones.
J.P. "The Big Bopper is buried in Beaumont, Texas.
You missed Billy Sherrill he was huge in the Life‘s of Tammy Wynette and George Jones
Did you watch the George & Tammy miniseries on Showtime? It's so good. I can't help but wonder what George's widow (Nancy) thinks about it?
Got a little tie in here from my past. I worked for a man in Nashville for several years that had some ties to the music scene. He and little Jimmy were buddies. My boss put on a MASSIVE Christmas light display annually at his house. Those in the area may know who I'm talking about. He would also provide lights at Mr. Dickens home as well. Jerry Chestnut was a neighbor of his. Johnny Paycheck had a sort of working relationship with him as well
Very nice! Thanks for showing these to us as some of us will never get the chance to go there ourselves. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching!
This is one of your best videos. Not because of the people you went too visit but the happiness in your honoring them. Please take care and be safe.
Thank you.
You are welcome.
Loved the movie George and Tammy thanks girls it was a beautiful love story.
And when you visit George Jones grave you virtually walk right past Johnny Paycheck grave
It’s interesting to be close to so many celebrities right at their graves. Especially in this cemetery where you literally stand next to their bodies or cremated remains separated only by a glass window or a wall!!!!
You missed several right next to Tammy Wynette. Like Jerry Reed, Liz Anderson, and Jim Ed Brown. Up on the hill you’ll find Webb pierce Marty Robbins and many others. But you could spend a whole day there.
Oh Thank You for doing this. I grew up listening to all of them. Brought back Good Memories. I Loved them👍🙏❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I noticed Lynn Anderson's was right there in the corridor just a few feet away, across from Tammy Wynette and KT Oslins.
May he rest in peace! TYVM!

I went to the Mausoleum at the Spring Hill Cemetery once when I visited Nashville & I noticed the famous people's graves who were buried in the regular cemetery but I don't remember seeing any famous people interred in the mausoleum there at least back then.d

Porter Wagner is there also. Found his grave when I was leaving.
@@BackRoads1 that was one i tried to find but couldnt. I was limited on time and wanted to go see billy walkers grave in hendersonville. The map they give ya doesnt help much lol
I was just here two months ago I really enjoyed myself plan another trip in the summer to see some of the others I didn’t get to see
There are so many there. I’m going to have to go back myself.
@@BackRoads1 yeh I need to see who is all in there I seen Johnny Cash and his wife and there was so many more I wanted to see I’ll be back in May I’m hoping to spend more time
George bought Johnny Paycheck grave since paycheck was broke
They must have moved Tammy Wynette from her original burial spot which was on her husband's (George Ritchie) land. He locked her grave up and wouldn't allow any of her daughters to visit her grave. I'm glad that she is no where near him now.
@2:43 there was Lynn Anderson right behind you in the mausoleum. You might of mentioned it and I missed it. Thanks for sharing this video. I'd like to pay my respects in person someday. It's sad that so many of them have left us. 😪 I'm glad I did get to see George Jones twice in concert though and I've seen Little Jimmy Dixson at the Grand Ole Opry once. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to see Tammy Wynette in concert, but I wish I could have.
There are a lot of country stars buried there. Im going back this year to do a more complete video. I missed Jerry Reed also.
@@BackRoads1, yes sir I believe I've heard about that too. If I'm not mistaken I think he has a different name than Jerry Reed or at least that's what I've heard, but I can't remember what is. I'll keep watching. 😉😊👍
Just found this channel. WOW
Those are so Beautiful
Was there a few years ago !
When you were in the mausoleum near Little Jimmy Dickens, I believe right behind you was country singer Lynne Anderson. If that was the same Lynne Anderson.
Does George have a military marker as well ? He deserves one

Can you please show us Troy Gentry’s resting place?
Great suggestion! He is defiantly on the list. Hope to back in Nashville area soon!
Very well done I just went down memory lane May they all RIP
u missed Jerry Reed (Hubbert)
JD Sumner
I sure did! I'll be back soon to see them.
Wait are the casket inside the place or are they just plaques of the deceased
The caskets are behind the name plates. Trust me when I say you can smell they are in there. They try their best to cover the smell but it is what it is.
Might be “important” by the worlds standards but not a one of them could hold a candle to my daddy. But Kenny does have them all beat on grave markers.
Try to go to Selena’s grave at seaside memorial park in Texas and John Denver’s memorial park in Aspen Colorado.
Those are definitely on the list to visit one day
Jim Ed Brown was right next to Jimmy Dickens
Omg i didnt know kt passed.
What bout Waylon Jennings could u show his please

Important people? You mean celebrities, I hope?
I heard George bought a plot for Johnny Paycheck.
I heard that and I also heard a couple of the country music family went together and bought it.
Ware is all of the people of Duke of Hazzard at now
Walked right past jerry reed hubbard on right side before tammy wynette
I sure did. Gives me a good excuse to go back.
