      Hello, Rinku here....
      I am a new viewer, may be 2-3 months watching videos, but have watched many many of them.....
      I like all what you fo and what your daughter does too.... Hannah is cute little angel....
      As i just told i am new viewer, i was also watching your videos 1-2 years older.... I loved the mix media textures you prepared using lots of ideas.
      I have a tip, was not easy to have thermocol packaging /foam from watch to adhere to base, whem you have such 3d item to have for texture, you can glue those by quick dry glue and then apply primer... It becomes easy....
      Rest every thing was way too inspiring....
      I have fews ideas which may be you must have used or thought about, but i missed to watch as i told.. Am a new user. Anf if few ideas you feel new and good to try, glad if you can try and share video with us...
      Ideas for texture...
      1. Features (any artificial/ real)
      2. Nail supplies ( artificial acrylic nails, nailpaints, nail deco items, even nail supplies plastic containers as embalishments)
      3. Candle wax - melting cancle directly in random spots on base.
      4. Drinking Straws - whole, cut into half length or circular wise, straw flakes.... Etc
      5. Pen Refils - ball pen, gel pen, glutter pen used empty refils, just like straws.... But will have completely different look may be....
      6. Sea shells...sands
      7. Quilled paper flowers /leVes/ any decoration peices...
      8. Paint brushes tips which you no longer use
      9. Crayon shavings..or crayons melted ranfomly on base just like candle...
      10. No longer used jwellery peices, or cheap earrings, rubber seal for earring pin will give different texture and also cheaper..
      11. Rubber bands...
      12. Wooden crocodile pins, full or broken half...
      13. Safety cloth pins different types amd shapes...also may be stapler pins or needles...
      14. Fruit bags, bath body scrubber pads, even utensil scrubbers...
      15. Few card making stamps no longer used.
      16. Chocolate wrappers
      17. Oats, wheat husk, ground nut covers (dont know if its available at your location, but they ar awesome textures)
      18. Differnt cheaper plastic spoons
      19. Paper cups, cupcake wraps/cups... Another goodie texture.
      20. Sketchpen refils, felt, foam pads, vellum, Valvet, etc
      21. Toothpicks, matchsticks, screwers
      22. Clay for kids
      23. Tubes from empty paints, even cute tiny bottles, etc..
      24. Grapes stems, they will look adorable i imagine...
      25. Last but not at all least... Hannah's broken toy peices, or tiny little cute toy parts, she no longer plays with... For her memories.... 😊🥰

    This is why I love watching you. You're just like us playing and learning and laughing at ourselves. I was watching your other video and giggling not laughing at you haha. I have the same platform and not very good at it. So you are good for me to learn from. I didn't know what would happen if the magnets touched, I just knew Tim said don't do it. This is why I love watching you so much because you don't pretend to know everything and you realize that there is Always something more to learn. You're no ninny Marta. You're seeking out how to use a new tool. Thanks for another video on it. Much appreciated. I think Tim Holtz would be very proud of you in fairness. You quickly figured it out and you're flying now. You can use it to position stamps and make it easier to do circles with teeny images or stamp a border etc or even just for bulk making cards. It's a very valuable tool. Enjoy it. And enjoy the movie night with Lucas.

    While watching the original unboxing video, I was actually thinking to myself: That's really quite smart to REMOVE the stamping panel if you--like me!--have a desk full of stuff and you can't find enough space to open the stamp platform all the way! You're not a silly billy, you're genius! I've been trying to ink my stamps at all kinds of awkward positions on a very cluttered desk, so your original method is actually quite brilliant!

    I agree with all those who think it is great that you kept all the 'wrong' bits in. They are the best learning points for us all, and can lead to new ways to be creative. I have a TH platform, but had forgotten to use it, having done very little creatively for a while and then returning to old ways, ie. blocks. You have inspired me to get it out.
    With Oxides, you could brush some of the colour into the white spaces on the wings, brush the beautiful, more ethereal one where you were using the 'wrong' side of the platform, and still retain an outline, and also get colour wherever you wanted it. i love it all and your ability to laugh at yourself, a great skill.

      Hi Mary. I recommend putting a sheet of fun foam on the platform then your paper then the magnets on top when you stamp on the clear side. This helps get a really good inked impression on the paper. I saw a couple of crafters on CZcams do this and I do it myself. I have cut the foam to size and put reposition tape on it so it stays on but can be taken off as I don't use rubber stamps very often....

    Beautiful! I want to go stamp a butterfly this way. Tim is a sweetheart - he would laugh with you! There is a learning curve for everyone. Be easy on yourself! I like to put my platform on the kitchen counter and stamp off and on all day. Standing up, you can get a nice sharp impression from kind of leaning into it with more pressure than when sitting. Have fun with it!

    It was fun to see you sort things out. 😁 Baby wipes are totally fine to clean your stamps with. They won’t hurt clear or rubber stamps. Get the alcohol free wipes. Also there are stamp cleaners for stamps. Ranger makes some. It is important to fully clean your stamp before putting another color on it because the color left on the stamp will contaminate the ink pad and ruin it. Especially if you use Distress Oxides with die inks, like regular Distress inks or Archival ink. Good job! I’ve been stamping for over 20 years and taught many classes using Tim Holtz methods.

      Oh, please don't worry. I bet most had no idea how to use this, i sure didn't. I think the way you did it yesterday was great, less complicated. I tried to make my own stamp platform. It was a hysterically funny attempt to save money, and probably cost as much! It seemed such a simple idea...uh, no, not so simple. So now this real one is on my wish list. This is lovely! Yes, i see the difference now. Thank you so much. No more fussing, time out for family. You did good. I look forward to learning more. I loved your take on watercolor. I hope somehow you can use it with the stamps. I learned from you to be free in how to watercolor the backgrounds for my stamps. But, honestly, i do not like to spend a lot of time coloring within those stamped images. You have a very unique way of using media that lets you be free, not to be chaotic, but truly creative. I explode with joy watching the colors just take on their own life, and they, themselves, seem to suggest ideas of how to use them...uh, like when you garden, you can use the shapes and bumps already there...don't flatten them out. And use the wild stuff. It is all in front of you already, you just bring it forward more. That is what you do. It is same with the designs that inherently appear in wet watercolors, and now stamps! You can see so many new scenes you can bring forth. When i don't like a "painting," i cut it into 4X5 cards and am so amazed at the totally new, exciting results😆 Oh, i just thank you so much! Thank you for teaching us how to be free, to explore, to love life and even love ourselves. God bless you bunches!

    Ha you're doing a fabulous job, never having used one before! Another little tip to add to the hundreds :-) I keep talking to the screen, thought I would type this here ha ha Ha I wrote to Tonic because my TH platform wasn't always stamping clear stamps well and they said that some clear stamps are thicker/thinner than others. So even if you are using the clear side of the lid, you may need to press a bit harder etc. I also find that if I move the stamp away from the hinge and the corner it sometimes makes a better impression as well.

    So happy u figured out your oops. I know u will enjoy your platform. I strongly recommend buying the protective case for it as well. I haven’t broken a magnet but I have lost one. It’s bound to be somewhere in my craft room so I bought another pack. I’m in the process of a makeover of my craft room so I’m bound to find it but doesn’t hurt to have spares. Hope to have my new storage units assemble by Monday but I’ve had plenty of oops putting them together. LOL

    Well you know: Nobody's an expert on newly bought crafting tools. It's fine to try, make misktakes and learn from them. This has nothing to do with being silly or stupid. Please don't say such things about you :-(
    I like it how much you interact with us and how grateful you always are for some tips from fellow crafters :-)
    And btw: The washed-out look would be perfect for vintage styles.

    I appreciate this so much. I don’t have a stamping platform because I always saw it as a waste of money, but the layering of colors has shown me different . I also wasn’t sure exactly how to use one because many people using them do it too quickly in their videos, just assuming people already know how to use it. If I had one I know I would definitely make better use of my stamps!

  • @blondecardsncrafts
    @blondecardsncrafts Před 5 lety +3

    A great tip Maremi...... Put a sheet of FUN FOAM on the base of the platform, then put your paper on top of it before you stamp with your clear stamps, the magnets will still keep it all in place and it gives a better impression on the paper. Also makes it easier when you press down on the platform. Hope you give this a try. It's how I use mine 😁😄😁

    • @lanastraea
      @lanastraea Před 5 lety +2

      I will try this. I've tried and tried with my platform and couldn't understand why everyone seemed to love it. In the videos I watch, people seem to get great impressions even without the fun foam. But I'll try anything to avoid just keeping it at the bottom of a drawer!

    • @blondecardsncrafts
      @blondecardsncrafts Před 5 lety

      I put repositionable tape on the back of the foam, that'll kepp it in place but can be removed when you use your rubber stamps. Also sometimes, depending on the clear stamp, I pull my sleeve over the heal of my hand and rub hard across it. It's not always a perfect image first time but it's so much better than using a block because you can re stamp over and over precisely. Love your channel and tutorials by the way 😁

All of us who follow you have a great advantage over you in that we make our mistakes in crafting in private; however, you make your few in front of all of us AND it is recorded!! Lol so funny.. I bought the platform because I watched Tim demo it and just fell in love as it offered a solution for so many of the problems stampers incur.. but this was so fun and shows very well the way most of us would use it (because we're usually to excited to read instructions when we get something new) straight out of the box and it's nice to see we all have the same problems sometimes..lol oh and Tim said if you have problems seeing the measurements down the sides rub a little white paint into the indentations made by the numbers to highlight them.. but ty for the cheerful video it was a lot of fun to watch..xx

    If you want to take it one step further, use a damp watercolor brush and pull some of the color away from the outlines. It creates a soft, watercolor look. I use this technique often. I have been thoroughly enjoying your stamp platform videos. I like your idea of making 2019 a year of stamping but whatever you decide to do, I'll be watching. Your videos are some of the most informative and entertaining craft videos available. We all love you!
