My biggest culture shock coming to PR the 1st time from FL was that "far" is anything that's an hour or more away. Seemed crazy at first, but now Mayaguez mght as well be the other side of the Moon. More recently after moving here from Colombia to live permanently, what continuously surprises me is how good the Spanglish is here.... and I'm serious about this and not in a critical way. People here weave English and Spanish together so effortlessly to explain something and they use the whole vocabulary of 2 whole languages to communicate ideas. In my opinion Puerto Ricans are too negative about their Spanish and should be proud at how bilingual and expressive they can be. Thanks for another great video Josh!
Crazy right? Cause I lived in LA and it's always 1 and 30 minutes to get anywhere lol I travel to europe more than I travel to the west coast of the island these days haha. And please, don't encourage our spanglish! lol
@@JoshIsOnAMission I am absolutely doing this. I am a carpenter by trade, before I go I will have obtained my welding certification as well. I have looked at jobs there and welding is a better paid job plus I can pick up side jobs as well. Maintenance or whatever I can find. Maybe we can link up and network I will also be looking for a small home for myself my credit is above 700 I'd like to remodel a home close to where I find work if possible

I visited for the first time in March and completely fell in love with the island and the people and the food! I’m going back again in August this time with my son so he can see how amazing it is. I hope my dream of moving there can come true! I’ve been practicing my Spanish everyday for the last several months, so hopefully by the time I want to move I will be fluent. I’m also a pretty heavy WhatsApp user since I have family around the world.
