- As part of the official release of Cuphead in Japan, Studio MDHR & SUPERDELUXE had the honor and privilege of collaborating with legendary artisan, painter, and character designer Yoshitaka Amano on an original painting of some of the game’s most iconic characters.
Brought to life in the style of the classic fantasy RPGs that helped inspire Cuphead in the first place, this stunning work adorns the cover of the music CD including with first run copies of the game. We hope you enjoy this look at the process of bringing this piece to life.

Rather creative to give them weapons based on silverware. Cuphead with a fork broadsword, Mugman with a knife katana and Mrs. Chalice with a spoon staff.

Thank you Yoshitaka Amani for showing your artwork to all of your fans who loves Final Fantasy you are very inspirational with your work. And thank you studio MDHR for making such a beautiful series that makes players flip their controllers from beating every boss from inkwell isles and creating characters that were inspired by 1920, and 1930s cartoons from the era and classic video games that we played from the 80s and 90s era. It makes me cry 😢 of see how the game is revolutionize the world and symbol of how much cartoons have change me over time from being a kid to an adult. And i feel the game has become a animation guide book to help me get into the path of my animation career.

I love cuphead
I am familiar with his name since I started playing Final Fantasy games on the NES and Super Nintendo and I even own a Final Fantasy artbook from back those days. Feels kind of weird, that it took a video of him drawing Cuphead characters that I actually see that man the first time 😅
