- Hi, friends, I hope this finds y'all guys doing well!
This video is another slow one, we go up to the shelter to work on the bed and start rebuilding the fireplace. I share a few of my plans for the final fireplace and show y'all guys one of my ideas about something the Neanderthals might have done that no one has figured out yet. In the end the fireplace pulls a Humpty Dumpty, and all the Kings men return to the pickup truck to figure out what to do now. I know these slower back yard videos aren't as full as my normal videos, and I hope to be doing more adventuring soon, I do hope you enjoy though. I have a lot of fun getting to shear with you.

I've discovered from my own Trial and Terror that accidents can be happy. The next stove is going to be bad azz! Now you don't have to lift the rock to get tothe bigger stones when you start the new stove! I lose at "Jenga" all the time at my house! The shelter is looking awesome and I am learning so much! So glad you didn't get hurt and your equipment was ok.

One good thing about the stove collapsing when it did was that now you can build it again and make it stronger instead of collapsing with a fire going inside it. Like you said with improving the shelter over time, building something and using it lets you see the flaws or areas to improve. I'm currently doing that with software. I made a first draft of the app, used it for a while and made a list of bugs and improvements then fixed it for a second draft. It's a bit tougher with physical things but same idea. I bet this is going to be really awesome when you finish. Nice camera angles with the camera under the bed and in the shovel!
Matt you’re always forgetting your tripod 😂. I always remember you talking about the Neolithic times and survival on Alaskan bush people, that’s how I know you were being genuine! You are definitely a person who has a wealth of information and fun facts and I will continue to follow you and watch what you get up to ❤

Now that I've finally recovered from the shock of the fireplace collapse and taken my hand off my mouth 🫢🫢 I will attempt to comment! I'll keep it short 😂 I enjoyed how your using neanderthal ideas. When you actually think about it 🤔 it all makes sense. I want to learn more about the rope ties 🪢 Your reaction to the fireplace collapse just shows your true strength of character. Hey Matt hope you're doing well here's something that I learned after years of Masonry don't set a stone that you cannot set another one on top of. Always test your stone that you set to make sure it's not wobbling if it does put a shim under. Keep those videos coming great job
Your reaction to the fireplace collapsing was fantastic! I try to keep a sense of humor about most mishaps. Oftentimes, it's the mishaps that make a story interesting. When we sit around a campfire, we rarely tell stories in which everything goes exactly as planned. It's the struggles that connect us and make life cool. 😊

You should have replayed the collapse in slow mo for dramatic effect! 😂 Awh I'm sorry it fell 🙈 you weren't 100% happy with the fireplace though so maybe it just made the decision for you and now you can build it again as you want it, better than before 👍 it will be worth it.

Refresh yourself on "dry stacking" also remember your foundation is the most important part of the chimney. And fire places are nice but unefficient think about something you can close up tight and radiat heat. Blessings Matt
