Continue with the previous video, let's take a look at every NHL eastern conference champion in history (1982-2022 season) and which team won the most eastern conference championship titles.
On June 11, 2022, the Lightning clinched their third straight Stanley Cup Finals berth after a 2-1 win against the New York Rangers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The National Hockey League (NHL) Conference Finals are the Eastern Conference and Western Conference championship series of the NHL. The Conference Finals are best-of-seven series, and comprise the third round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The two series are played in mid-to-late May (early June in 1995 and 2013, due to labour disputes that delayed the start of the season and September in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). The winners of the Eastern and Western Conference Finals receive the Prince of Wales Trophy and Clarence S. Campbell Bowl, respectively, and advance to face each other in the final round.

To clear up everyone's apparent confusion regarding 2021, the NHL did hold playoffs that year, but due to Canadian pandemic restrictions, the league's divisions underwent a temporary realignment resulting in FOUR conferences (one with all Canadian teams and three with all American teams) and no inter-conference games on the regular season schedule. That way, no team would have to cross the US-Canadian border until the Stanley Cup Semifinals when the four conference champions would play each other.
This is how the Lightning got paired against the Islanders in a semifinal that technically doesn't count as an "Eastern Conference" championship, and then played against another normally Eastern Conference team, the Canadiens, in the Stanley Cup Finals.

There was a 2021 eastern conference, the lightning won the eastern conference 4-3 vs the Islanders and in 2022 the lightning beat the Rangers, not the islanders
