  • Today, I reveal my exclusive trick on how to clear a pelican demonstrator's nib section off ink. It is easier to clean if the ink was there for a day or two. But for longer time, it seems impossible to clear the section. Until today!! Check it out, and let me know what you think ?:) Thanks!

    The largest part of my collection is comprised of Pelikan Pens, they are my favorite pens. I have not purchased a demonstrator, this does seem like a lot of work. Thanks for sharing.

    Oh my goodness. I am really glad you found a way to clean this out, and this was the reason that prevented me from getting an m800 or M1000 demo, because who wouldn't want a demonstrator the ones who created it right? The M200 doesn't seem to have that problem. Unfortunately, this looks like a task. Sigh. No Pelikan demos for me. at least now there is a method to clean it though.

      With the pens, it is not as life-saving though :) :)

    Nice trick. Definitely won't be getting a Pelikan demonstrator. Seeing the ink drops/blue sheen in the cap of my Conid already drives me nuts, and that is pretty easy to clean out.

    Is there a reason you don’t remove the piston rod or use an ultrasonic cleaner?

    • @Shak-MD
      @Shak-MD  Před 23 dny +1

      Yes. The piston rod removal still leaves the ink in the section. I have ultrasounded thos pen in pen flush as well as water, soap.... and diluted bleach for at least 30 minutes without success.

    • @fortheloveofpens
      @fortheloveofpens Před 23 dny

      @@Shak-MD My only concern with the technique you're using is that you stress the piston seal in a direction and with a force that it shouldn't see in regular use. That may accelerate wear overtime. I have the striated version, so the grip section is opaque; but on my other demonstrators, soaking in warm soapy water and using a bulb syringe through the back is usually sufficient. I'll also rub with a rolled up paper towel or toothbrush if the threads are very fine.

    • @Shak-MD
      @Shak-MD  Před 23 dny +1

      @fortheloveofpens That is a concern, but rubber ahould last long...and this procedure is done very sparingly. The pelikan demonstrators have that sleeve inside that make it quite impossible to clean in another way.
