    I have a 574 bought new I won’t trade it for any other tractor that size. I’m glade I do not have to contend with snow. Thanks for the video!!

      Most of the winding is cut out. Both the starter and the battery is very good!

      You’re using the cold start incorrectly,lever should go from run position to cold start so you can feel just when it contacts detent position and why are you waiting to start cranking over engine there is no glow or heat for cold start and that style snow blower is worthless, you have to drive through deep snow before it reaches snow blower other wise thanks for the video those were great tractors, next year service the tractor before the cold weather lol😊 thanks again!

    That video just reminds me that, I'm so glad I bought a new Belarus diesel tractor 30yrs ago! Might not be the best or refined (modern) but it just runs, and has never let me down especially running out of fuel, very frugal. Good luck, some of these diesels are can be a bear to get restarted. That tractor looks like a keeper, once fixed

    • @Sir.Espeno
      @Sir.Espeno  Před rokem +1

      The tractor bled itself and started quite easily. The problem was water and particles from the diesel tank which clogged the diesel pipes and it froze. The diesel tank has not received good maintenance from the past.

      I hear that, 1942 Case SC owner, I even put a powerful small magnet in the glass sediment bowl, you would be shocked of the very fine rust particles that I find stuck to the magnet! Good luck ☝️

    Looks like a frustrating couple of days, but typical in winter. Winter and machinery will just take the piss right out of a guy.

      Yes! This was the first two weeks of winter. And we had about 45 cm / 18 inches of snow in a couple of days.

    Gd ttactors these old 74 seies . The 574 pulls well above its weight . In cutivation time we had a 574 on a 4 meter power harrow handled it no probbs . Iust goes to show u dont need 280 hp to do jobs around a farm . 100 hp used to be the main tractor on a farm and that wasnt so long ago . And still the case on a lot of hill farms and smaller units .

    I have a 1982 IH 260A. I ran it out of diesel while I was working on sloping side of my property. I have not been able to use ever since!!!. It starts for about 30 seconds and runs smooth, then starts hesitating and quits. I have so far replaced fuel pump, filters but with no luck. I was told I may have to replace injection pump or fuel injectors or may be both.....

    • @Sir.Espeno
      @Sir.Espeno  Před rokem +1

      That was sad! I don't know your tractor, but I would have dismantled the diesel pipe connections and seen where the diesel comes out or not. If necessary, blow clean diesel pipe. On my tractor, the diesel tank has a large tank on each side. Return comes on one side and supply on the other side. If the pipe between these is blocked, one side runs out. And the other when refilling looks completely full. Before changing the injector pump, I would try and connect an external diesel tank high up, so you are sure it gets diesel. I have worked very little with the tractor and diesel engine, but I hope it helps.

      Sounds alot like you have a air leak. When you put the pump and filters on make sure the gasket is 100%.

      Yeah seems like air in system since it starts than dies. I’d purge your system again than try and give it more fuel when it starts to die. The air will eventually run through the system it may take a little bit though. Best advice. Never run them dry.

    • @Sir.Espeno
      @Sir.Espeno  Před rokem

      The fuel gauge is more like a poor indicator. My plan was to run out of summer diesel as much as possible, before I had to fill up with winter diesel. Unfortunately, it was a little too empty. But the tanks have not been drained, and benefited from a drain to get water and diesel animals out. Unfortunately, it ran out in an unfortunate place 😂

    • @Sir.Espeno
      @Sir.Espeno  Před rokem

      Hello Canada! I'm from middle of Norway.
      The blank is a filter housing for the cooling system, it has a filter cartridge for cleaning cooling water. There was a lot of rust in the cooling system when I bought the tractor. My tractor has a glow plug in the intake manifold, which also has a diesel supply. The diesel pump has a separate position for starting, I think this gives extra diesel for cold starting, also for the glow plug. I give it full throttle when the diesel pump is in the start position. The key supplies power to the glow plug in half position, and after approx. 10 seconds, a puff is heard, when diesel is ignited in the intake manifold, and the tractor starts quite quickly. In cold weather it has to be in start position, full throttle, and I still hold the glow plug for 1 minute. I dont use a engine heater. Pardon my google tanslate :D

    da måtte jeg sugeframm diesel

    • @Sir.Espeno
      @Sir.Espeno  Před rokem +1

      Det ble fyldt på 40L diesel. Men traktor sto på skrått, og det var vann og gørr i systemet etter tomkjøring. Det er vist en svakhet at rør mellom underside på dieseltak går tett, og da må man fylle på over halv tank som du sier! Alltid får man kose seg med dieselproblemer i minusgrader 😁
