Wow, such a gorgeous port city and such a stunning intricate gate at Donglong Temple. It looks more unique than other towns and cities in Taiwan. Never heard of this place before. I wanted to visit Taiwan for ages when I lived in China (because the plane tix would have been way cheaper than flying from Canada) but never had a chance. Something unexpected always happened. I can only live vicariously through you. Great vid as usual.

Oh my god, you are making me homesick. That brown sugar glutinous rice cake, 雙糕潤 which originates from Donggang, is one of my favorite snacks when I was young. You couldn't find it elsewhere (except for one store in Kaohsiung, which might be owned by a family member of the original maker.) Donglong Temple is one of the most splendid in Taiwan. 肉粿 is also unique to this fishing village and must-have whenever I returned to my grandparents' place.
Two-dish / Three-dish meal with one roast duck is also very popular in Taiwan. Peking-style crispy skin and meat with sauce in a roll, stir-fried bone-in duck meat, and even duck soup made with duck bone broth. That is how one duck can serve a whole family.

The town Donggang or a specific restaurant?

All of it mate some of the restaurants remind me of when I went to Thailand a few years back. If I didn't have young children now Donggang would be a place I would consider.

That soup looks so warming now it’s getting cold in Australia 🇦🇺 that would be something I’d want to eat for breakfast.

Wow, they have durians and jack fruits in Donggang! Taiwan sausage is delicious and the roast duck looks yummy too. 👍👍👍 The temple gate is magnificent.
