@Alezia A Kelly's voice is better imo. Her tone is so sweet to listen to. Would've been waaaaay better at the bridge. I feel Matthew was a dad first and not focused on the love of art and music. All of them were super talented and beautiful and letting them show their gifts would be better for the group but this whole thing was set up for Beys career. They were wasted as props and that's why they left. It's sad.

My mouth dropped open back in '97 or '98 when I first saw them. Yes, we know who the star is but I couldn't believe how beautiful each of them was. LeToya was my fav but they were all absolutely gorgeous in their own right and the harmonies were amazing. Will always prefer DC4 as an r&b lover.

They could've honestly just been an on/off supergroup with solo activities. Think they could've all benefited from each other's success that way. We didn't really get to see LeToya and LaTavia fully utilized in the group. The Writing’s On The Wall was the quartet’s masterpiece album. It was fresh and young. You can tell that they wanted to appeal more to a teenage, young adult audience with the Sonics and sounds they were using with the production of the beats alone. You see more of Beyoncé coming into her own as a vocal producer/songwriter on the album as as well as LeToya, LaTavia and Kelly as songwriters. Destiny Fulfilled was the trio’s masterpiece album. While Beyoncé sings the majority of the harmonies and background vocals on that particular album, it was nice to hear the confidence of Michelle and Kelly vocally.

You're right. Her parents really made her overshadow the other girls. She was going to be more dramatic in her singing and dancing and they trained her to take control on the stage so that she could be the leader of the group. The longterm plan was ALWAYS for Beyonce to be a SOLO ACT. The group was her platform to get notoriety and launch her solo career. She always over sang and performed. She never considered the other girls. They featured Kelley a little more than the other girls so it wouldn't look so bad, but it's clear that Beyonce was always going to be the star.

Yes, I don't mean to offend anyone because I do love Michelle as well, but to me these four were all equally stunning and as time went on it would have been hard for Beyonce to really shine and gain all the attention that she got with the those other two being in the group. I honestly have always believed that these girls were kicked out of the group because they were just too good and equally as beautiful as Beyonce and they (her parents or Matthew or whoever) just could not have that for her (Beyonce) to shine on her own. I don't blame Beyonce though, it's really Matthew just being a smart businessman and looking out for his daughter I guess, but it was pretty crappy for the other original girls.

I remember listening to this when it first came out in 1998 / 1999 and the music sounded so loud and fast, a proper beat to be playing & dancing to at the club. I'm hearing it now in 2023 and sounds like some soft R&B music you'd play whilst taking a hot bath or a long relaxing drive in the evening.
