Romans: low B tier. Very solid composition that they can bring out, but sometimes they can be a bit slow, and lack the raiding potential needed for arabia.
Hera forget cycle: Talks himself down because he forgot it last time > Corrects himself and gives a psychology lecture to his viewers > Gets stressed out cause he spent too much time on it > Starts hurrying describing civs > Gets to last civ while still being stressed out that the video is going to be too long so he ends video fast forgetting about Romans > Posts video, double checks, calls himself brain dead > Now sub consciously believes he is brain dead > Cycle repeats from beginning

"Cheese" in gaming context means you do something unusual, creative, unexpected, nonstandard and wacky thats very different from what happens in most situations. Usualy requires some outside the box thinking. A cheese strategy could be vill rushing your opponent in feudal and stone walling them in and then trying to keep them inside the box so they run out of space and resources. Persian Dark Age TC drop or goth hunt lame are another examples of cheesing.
Hera has that streamer grind where he can launch into the most entertaining digressions from nowhere

Was it ever a question? I'm totally out of practice with civs that don't have a good answer for a Goth swarm, and I don't even play 1v1, only team.
@@leventebardossy5962 Goths infantry spam isn't OP really. Gbeto, Woad Raider, Berserker, Kamayuk and Cataphract counter all of them. Goths' Champion's cost efficiency doesn't work, expensive but stronger infantry units kills Goths' Champion with ease. That's why I think Goths' Champion needs like +2 bonus attack vs other infantry.
@@Asterix958goths infantry spam isn't about what counters it in an engagement. It's about amassing it multiple times in half a minute. No one else can come up with an army that quick with such little amount of barracks

33:25 - Winged Hussar has 1 more MA over generic Hussar. So +1MA and +5HP in total.
Also +4 vs Gunpowder vs very strong, enables to counter Hand Cannoneer and kill BBC a lot faster which are one of the strongest late game unit in the game. Lithuanians have also strong Skirmisher, FU Hand Cannoneer and BBC. It is on top of A tier at worst.
Hera underrated Lithuanians and their Winged Hussar. It can be a pain to deal with when the Lithuanian player starts spamming it.
@@Asterix958 Agreed..they should even do decent against conquistadors and organ guns , units that are usually hard to deal with.
Also, they have the same attack as Hussar + Blast Furnace, but for cheaper than researching both Hussar and Blast Furnace. Not sure if that matters for Lithuanians placement in the tierlist given the crappy Halbs, but their Hussars are definitely better than generic.

Great video, I simply love tierlists! Only thing to point out is that it maybe felt a bit rushed towards the end.
Paper Money for Vietnamese can be quite good, as it's like having a couple of relics, though maybe more so on some other maps than Arabia.

Honestly I either wish the TC bonus was reverted or that the Winged Hussars still get an attack bonus from relics (Maybe just +2. I kinda like that they should work for their extra attack due to missing BF).
Tower Shields giving 1 melee armor could help their halbs a little too

To be fair this so the reason they are good the inaccuracy makes them not over kill and hit multiple targets instead when in mass.
The dream would be a tierlist with the best feudal, and another with the best castle age civs.
I think analyzing civs like this might help players recognize which civs are very good overall and which would be wise to practice 🙏

13:00 the byzantine cataphract + skirm + BBC is a rather difficult combo to stop. Very underrated, though admittedly a slow push strat. You can mix in or replace the catas with camels if the enemy is on high cav numbers.

Bulgarians underrated. They have insanely cheap transitions into Imperial. Half cost siege and blacksmith. Usually you have Stirrups already so for cav you need 1 upgrade (hussar or cavalier) and half food cost blacksmith. For infantry you need just the half cost blacksmith upgrade. Going cav spam combined with heavy infantry + siege is very strong and barely requires upgrade cost.
one thing with koreans is that you can go straight into bombard towers without having to pay and wait for the tech which is HUGE lategame
Fully upgraded lith winged hussar are actually cheaper than generic because you save on missing blast furnace. Winged hussar also have an extra melee armor.

Japanese also get fully upgraded heavy CA, so you can also go those.
Korean wood discount is so massive that they cost the same resources as byzantine trash, but focused heavier on the food. this allows you to focus heavier on the food which is easier to keep safe in late game against raids, and gives you an upper hand in wood games
Tatars also have 7 pierce freaking steppe lancers, dont forget about those beasts!
Turk heavy CA trade exactly evenly with Tatar heavy CA, but they are stronger against skirms and melee units than Tatar ones

i think spanish might be higher A imo, considering you can tech switch to any unit line that you want - conqs and paladins are amazing but you can have the trash backup whenever you can. the siege are the only weakness for them and the team bonus is useless in 1v1, that’s the difference of them and mongols (other top 2 team bonuses)

For Lituanians I think a good change would be to give them blast furnace but lower the attack they get on relics by 1. Think the attack caps out at 4 or 5 relics so reduce it to 4 and I think their late game would be solid. Agree that they definitely are heavily reliant on relics
I agree with this line of logic, but right now, it caps at +4 for relics. So imo, if they were to get blast furnace back, I would reduce it to +2, which I think would be an overall buff. I also think they could keep the +4 with no blast furnace, but make it apply to either all cav, or all melee units.
This was a very difficult tier list to predict for me. A lot of times I was way off

Oh yeah it helps sometimes but its harder to use on arabia. OP for islands and arena though

You should rewatch the old tier lists and see how much things have changed 11. I remember when Portuguese were always at the bottom of the lists. Now look at them.
I think Lith relic bonus should now benefit all melee units. Infantry and hussar as well. To offset the loss of blast furnace.
No, Winged Hussars are already better than Ordinary Hussars, and Lith Winged Hussars with the relic bonus is overpowered as hell, Lithuanians used to have the relic bonus affecting Light Cavalry and that was among the first things to be removed for that reason, now imagine the relic bonus on a straight up better Hussar...
Wh are better but not that better. Lith winged hussar late game loses to regular hussars with no bf. The halb are weak with no blast furnace. Thr only saving grace of lith are the uu and monks being op. Then again don't need all civs to be s tier so they are ok at B tier civ.
@@jcbo8906 That was when Lith had blast furnace. They had fully upgraded hussar and then the relic bonus on top. Now they need two relics to get "full" upgrades. It's hard to get more than 2-3 relics so they wouldn't be that strong. Polish winged hussar still have trample damage which is more insane.
@@herotalib9556 Lithuanians Winged Hussar has same attack (they have 9+2 attack same as 7+4 of Generic Hussar) as generic Hussar and Winged Hussar has +5 hp, +1 melee armor and 4+ bonus attack against gunpowder units over generic Hussar. Therefore, Lithuanians Winged Hussar easily counter Generic Hussar and also better unit in every way. Lithuanians late game is one of the strongest, there is no need to buff even more. Their team game Paladin needs buff only. Relics should +1.5 attack to Paladin in Imperial Age and max +4 attack should be kept, preventing overbuff.
Lith all melee units (exept champs) is very strong, no reason to buff units , which is already much above average.
What if Dravidians had Wootz steel in Castle age? Will they become op?
Hera doesn't think too highly of Elephant Archers, or strong Castles, according to this list.
Hera: Cumans "don't really have any powerful unit that just like never dies, that's really strong". Well, they have the fastest paladin!

Actually I haven't finished the video yet but I wanted you to read this, here is an idea: How about taking a person's game they have already played and do a video on coaching? You could, of course, charge for this service, but then post it as content. I am sure a lot of the "coaching" will be, practice the build so you don't have so much idle time. But even with idle time, people make all kinds of other mistakes. You could consider almost any ELO but may want to filter on, let's say, 100 games on the ranked ladder, or something like that. If the idea doesn't work for you, no biggie, but I love all of your content and want to help out. I think coaching for a SPECIFIC player in a specific game might be be decent content, maybe once a week.

regarding mongols late game. i mean everyone knows how great they can be but i feel there are some weird matchups if gold isnt scarce.
huskarl spam can be annoying, berbers camel archers also, or mamelukes for example can really be devestating
Drill onagers take care of those.

@@BuGGyBoBerl Onagers have always been one of the better mameluke counters, to the extent they can be countered. Onagers with Drill all the more so. And they kill huskarls same as any other infantry.
Byzantines catas kill everything Gurjaras can do tho, which is hilarius that such a nich unit has a purpose against one of the other insnae late game civs.

Dravidians would be tier S for the strongest late game in the game in terms of military, despite the lack of good cavalry, they have access to everything from archers, infantry and siege weapons. The weak point of this civ is its dependence on gold, it is more appropriate to play as a team even where it is commercial.
Surprised Hera placed Dravidians lower than Aztecs lategame. Their halberdiers are way better, skirms are around the same and Dravidians actually have very strong glass cannon light cavalry that can do some raiding. They also have above average siege, and bombard cannons. Elephant archers with medical corps hit as hard as mangudai and can actually heal slowly.
Spanish have FU Cav Archers + Hussar, plus FU trash, cannons + 20% attack speed, super villagers + super monks.
How are they only middle B Tier?
Hera be like. This civ has hussar. So this civ is good.

I don't get this tier list. Didn't you already do a trash unit tier list? Is this a list of imperial age strength or trash units?
For sicilians i think they are one of the most misunderstood trash civs in the game. the way you should think about it is that they have good helbs that are not countered by skirms , skirms lacking final armor BUT in skirm vs skirm fight their civ bonus will reduce almost same damage as final armor anyway, So are not countered hy skirms and light cavs that can take a punch from helbs more than a generic hussar can.
If you sum up all that their trash might even be superior to byzantine
Also, the fact that those defensive / offensive donjons making the helbs is one big bonus.
There is also one weird thing about sicilians farms, sicilians can build and sustain A whole farming economy literally with 6 lumber jacks 😂 it's so weird i had a match once before where i had like 120 farms and like 6 on wood lol
As a low Elo myself 850-950 I almost disagree with the most of the tier 😅. I see things differently from my low Elo point of view. As an example my best S tier civs are Malay, Ethiopians, Pols and Slavs. I believe this is because the way I win my games when I follow the build orders that gives me those wins in the late game.

As a lithuanian i 100% agree :) Lithuanians so enoying and disapointing, cuz on paper they should be great late game, but thy fail bth in my gams and like 8/10 they lose in tournaments and those couple wins they get is usually they win early cuz of some obv mistakes or misfortunes of the opponents.

Hussars are the best trash unit, and lacking Byzantines lacking 2 upgrades on it puts them down a notch. Far from the worst Hussars, but below average definitely. Byzantines also lack Siege Onagers and Siege Engineers.
TBH, I don't get why Bohemians are significantly worse in Late Game Arabia than Britons.
You say that Bohemians "die to constant hussar raids", but isn't this also the same problem for Britons? And in terms of your own raiding potential, Bohemians and Britons have the exact same stable options. Yeah, Longbows + Warwolf Trebs + Halbs are a great deathball, but so are Houfnice + Skirms + Halbs with more bonus dmg (you can also mix in hand cannons/arbalest).

First tier list i trully dont get. If its not post imp scenario then why so much focus on double non gold composition? We still have gold on a map. This stage of thr game usually is 1 gold and 1 non gold unit army
And if so then civs like burgundians should be way higher as they get paladin upgrade way earlier and cheaper so they can snowball with it

You've been playing M.O.B.A.s and we just end up copying the negative comments spammed by others/the toxics I suspect!
Also I would think of Lith late game as being behind Aztecs. Atlatl-Skirms sniping your own halbs + skirm even with the pierce armour from further away and your Aztec eagle warriors tanking skirm shots & both units doing bonus damage to cavalry (yes one is far greater than the other) and so on. But even Burmese I could see doing well - apart from the Skirmishers being very very lacking in armour!
My Magyars Huszars need to be able to leap... over pike lines, let them speed to those Siege units!
Roccola thinks my farms/farm setups are beautiful... but I still use them to mass these Huszars, not the Polish ones.
Could make an S+ such that you can say every one in S+ is technically equal.

Good video except for Celts. Need to be higher than Bengalis. Woad raider is a mono composition that can beat most things. Like for your Celt vs Mayan example, what can Mayan do vs full woads and seige ram? Jack shit
And Celt wood bonus really helps with farming eco so you can afford everything
Plumes eat Woads alive. Woads + siege ram is trickier to deal with, but getting to a position where you have shitloads of both Woads and siege rams vs Mayans is pretty unrealistic
