    The part about the assassinations brought tears back to my eyes (I was 9 then). But this series is SO fascinating my sadness lifted right away and I was hooked. So well done! It's like a wonderful podcast. Then again, it's the BBC and they are known for good work.

    The first few minutes are hard for me to watch, and I wasn't even born in 1968. What a year.

    I'm not very versed in physics so i plead dumbass ignorance as I ask this question.
    "Why not do the braking burn just tangent to the moon?
    "Set the lunar orbital velocity BEFORE initiating lunar orbit?"

      @smeeself Před měsícem +1

      In not EXACTLY sure what you're asking, but maybe if you think of it like this.
      Velocity IS orbit. If you want to be at a certain orbital height there is only one velocity to do that.
      ( In a circular orbit, obviously the more elliptical, the more varied the speed. But again that does the same thing; closer is faster, slower is more distant)
      Sorry if this doesn't clear it up, but perhaps it was just me, not understanding the question properly.
      And failing CZcams playing the game KSP ( Kebab Space Program ) will give you a quite intuitive grasp of orbital mechanics.
      All the best.
