- Boat lucky not to be damaged as it heads out the river bar when its mooring breaks after heavy rain.
Two men manage to get on and save the boat.Check out another vid from the same bar, where boat nearly flips • Boat Has a Close Call ...

Whakatane River Bar New Zealand. - Zábava
1:59 If you look quickly you can see that man swimming to the boat. Looks dangerous doing that with all the debris floating around!!
What a great boat!! Took a beating, still stable and then no problems getting back out through the waves!!
This guy must clink when he walks, balls of steel!
Been over that bar and its scary even on a good day ..
It's a Big Miracle that Rudder/Propeller did not get damaged after running aground the shoreline...
That water is gnarly! Pure dirt, looks like a ripping current too.
He did well. Borderline miraculous .
did well to save it. must be a pretty decent sea boat.
I would like to buy these guys. Dinner and drinks. Great job guys. I got A 1978 Egg Harbor .If it was out there I would have done the same thing. 🇺🇸
Good save. Nice boat.
New Zealand dedicated captain won't let his ship go down without him, r.i.p
Kudos! Determined and courageous action saved the vessel. Good seamanship.
Amazing the prop wasn't fouled with all that crap in the water. Without power he is SOL. Good job working out of that jam. Maybe invest in better mooring lines?
The boat owners owe those two men a steak dinner and a beer. Well done.
I would guess the owner either was one of the men or they work for him because you would need the key to start that boat.

Tell ya what, those guys deserve an ice cold beer and a weekend retreat for doing that service!
how did it get there? dont seem like someone did get an idea to get out for a trip in the nice weather?
Go little boat! Be Free!
Go little boat indeed.
My sentiments exactly.
Nice boat
Beautiful in it's own little way..
New Zealand boaters have it rough. Credit goes to them
Good job getting out to it and saving it. It did really well though on it's own there for awhile
that's a damn good boat.....rides well
That is so awesome that guy was able to save his boat pretty seaworthy boat I might add
Man that is the nastiest debris field I ever saw. You guys have some truly ugly water down there.
Major storm and thats a river mouth so you get all the debris from the hills coming down the river.....Most of the time its clear of debris and good swimming and fishing.
Nice save!
Not a boater,,a true freakin sailor
Well designed boat, meant for heavy seas. The bad part was all the stuff floating in the water, anyone of those things could snap a prop or prop shaft, that's the hard thing to get by.
Anyone know anything about the river and why it was running so rapid?
awesome vid!!
what location was this?
Great job 😀
That was a cool video. Glad it had a positive outcome. Get the cleaner out and get ta scrubbin. Thing hit those waves like a boss. Full throttle jumpin whatknots!!
anyone know what makes and model? pretty awesome handing the sea
What happened to the guy swimming at 1:59 O.o. Holy hell I wouldn't go near that in those currents.
where was he going at the end??
Brave boys, but too big a risk I think, anything could have been in that water.
Fuck that. That’s why you have insurance.
That's why sea cows are endangered. Speeding through a no wake zone
wow, at least now the owners know it Can handle some rough seas
Was that a reverse tide?
I thought they handled it well. It was a bit iffy to wade out to the boat but the wave action there wasn't too crazy. The boat looked well maintained, people always forget to put money into their moorings... Was that a barn animal floating downstream? Wuh NZ...
Good one Luddie
What country is this in? Looks like cooks river out there
New Zealand - Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty.
What caused the terrible conditions to start with? anyone.
I give up that was not what i typed! was it abandon ?
That's called 'salvage rights'. It's been part of the law of the sea for several hundred years.
you know nothing
What's that floating at 1:21?
That's a lot of wood in the water. Looks like costa rica beaches after a flood
Bet the owner is pissed, I have insurance
Nice save, that could have ended up very badly, to say the least. Glad your all OK.
that is a seriously tuff little boat
wat was that ting at 1.19 in the video
HOLY COW ! ! !
Sorry I couldn't help that.
Seems like a nice place for a swim
I swim there all the time its a great place for a swim just not after a major storm lol.
Those men are nuts!
Hang on,little buddy!
My compliments to a job well done.
That boat looks like an old hatters.Great boat it could handle that rough water and not sink.
And whoever they called would sit on the shore and say that it was too dangerous to attempt a rescue... Probably rope the whole place off with caution tape!
Did the cow make it to shore okay? It looked it was doing the backstroke.
WORST Ever Attempt at Trying To Cross a Bar!! What Was Going On In This Guy's Head??

Mir fällt ein Stein vom Herzen . Das Boot ist gerettet - Halleluja !
Man habe ich Angst gehabt um das Boot .
Well done, they did a great job of saving the boat
Surprised he was able to maneuver with all that debris clustered about his props.
i was going to go out in my trailer sailor in this river but saw the waves and turned back.It was then i saw a 20 feet or so boat lying on the rocks,he came in at night and his spot light moved and got hit by a wave so it pays to have every thing in ship shape condition
the boat looks like a toy in those rough waves
What a mad boat them waves hitting it boat barely moved it
lucky they didn't bend a shaft, or damage a wheel
Nice save
What was that dead thing floating? why was there so much rubbish?
Repo men going the distance here!!
I always head to the bar when my mooring breaks.
you could tell its out going tide by the color of the water
Depends on the salvage rights in New Zealand lol
Well done tricky waters. . .
That’s a lot of stuff floating in the way. This surely can’t be a regular crossing for boats.
Great save. The boat would have been beaten up badly in that shallow water.
Typical Kiwi day, bit of a swim, save a boat, grab a bit o wood for the barby later on, pick up some beers on the way home.
bravo!
Eu que andei no mar inclusivamente estive no porto de shtampton acho incrível este video
Interesting & very rough water. Telephoto lens accentuates this, making it look like no space between wave groups. Yes, unmanned boat adrift or sunk...first on board gets salvor's rights, isn't it? Some marine laws are international because they go so far back in time. Too bad there are no international environmental ocean protection laws, or few anyway.
You must mean no structural damage, because that boat got swamped! There's bound to be water damage in the living quarters if not inside the cabins where the portholes are on the bow. Good they saved it, though.
As long as they closed all of the ports and if anything in that water somehow broke the glass I think it wouldn't be very wet in the cabin if at all. As long as the seals for everything were in good shape it should be fine
awesome
Are we sure they didn’t just steal that boat😂
I'am not getting all of the story here! Why did they take a smaller boat to go out to the yacht for? Then you see them cleaning off the stern and taking off, was the abandon?
haha, perhaps they just take the boat around to a safe mooring until flood water and junk clears from the river.
Well done chaps!
I was thinking the same thing. lol...He could have been as easily crushed. I watched a 28 foot whaler get set right up on shore in one big wave while a couple of guys were trying to hook a tow line. They had run out of fuel when the lake got rough. On Lake Superior shit can go bad real quick.
ropes broke at the dock. crazy waters for sure
easy stuff if you know boating as long as it steers and runs and pumps your good
There was something on board...👃
That boat looked like it had a gyro considering the conditions it coped well..
COURAGE!🎏
My guess is either no insurance. Or they had a couple square groupers on board
its rough out there!
It's not to see it taken care of without drama.
Thats crazy, i would be out there in my boat, all the shit floating around, good way to get a hole in the hull and sink
Those dudes are bad-ass. In the US, they would've called someone.
HOLY COW.......
I have no idea who those men were or where they took my boat.
glad they could save it!
