I agree.. but it has nothing to do with race my guy. It has everything to do with the work ethic and mindset of these guys. I marched with half of this line at matrix. Don’t bring race into it when it doesn’t need to be. That’s the problem with this country right now. These guys busted their asses and got those spots. Nobody was bringing this up in 2019, so why bring it up now? Just acknowledge how good they are as human beings and musicians.
I marched at Regiment and Spirit and can tell you it has nothing to do with race. Different people from all over the world audition every year. If you have hands, you make the line and a good attitude, you make the line. Black, white, purple...doesn’t matter haha. Keep a good spirit about it and stay pure with it all. Drum corps have been about diversity and inclusion. That’s just a band thing

It’s part of a competition called Drum Corps International
But it's "International" the way the "World" is in the MLB World Series, it's pretty much just America

jean christophe cau basically anyone high school/college age can audition to be in the group...there is an age limit at 21 (people in their final season are referred to as age-outs)
Also, the corps are neither military nor professional. Although they have professional levels of skill, the members pay to be a part of the corps for any given season after making it through auditions.
I wonder if someone can explain why the bass drums are using stands?
as someone who marches bass 5, it's to prevent Unnecessary Back Hurty Syndrome (UBHS)
