  • In this video I look at all the different type of dampeners you can put on your recurve bow and where. Plus I tell you my favourite stick on limb dampeners. What are your favourite dampeners? Where do you have them on your bow? Do you think they work?

I like my bow as dead in the hand as possible and as quiet as possible, I've just got dampers on my long rod and both short rods but spent ages getting the brace height sorted , I've had the limb savers on another bow but they kept coming off so I've not bothered with this one, great channel mate keep it up .

My understanding is that putting the limb dampeners on the front isn't about performance or feel, but because they're less likely to catch when going in and out of a bag or limb sleeves (because they're inside the curve when unstrung).

You might be right about that, plus some people just like them on the front away from their eyeline.

    · 100% CORRECT !!!!
    The Limbsaver Broadband
is fitted where the limb-base has tapered down to [basically] the main thickness.
A few misguided saps fit them
far, far tooo close to the riser,
where the broadband limbsaver does nothing. 🤦‍♂️

    What's happened to barebow?
OK, I do understand those who rely on add ons. You did ask "tell me". I shoot trad recurve, the only reason I use string hair balls is that I find it quite. If you need these long suppreors and such like then the bow is not properly tuned to you're arrows.
Anyway, interesting video and at the end of the day we have preferences.
    Interesting Anyway 😊
I use as little as possible. Technique and regular practice is better than gadgets, just my opinion

I want to test adding as much weight on the riser as possible. I hope to add 5lb to the riser

      Good luck

You can maybe replace the screws with tungsten screws but I don't think you'll get 5lb.. How did you add the weight in the end?

What do I do if mine are melting on my limbs

    • @ArcheryblogUk

Melting, that seems a bit extreme. All I've known before is when the stick on dampeners become un-stuck and fall off.

You know rubber deteriorates over time.
So how long do the rubber dampeners last?

    • @ArcheryblogUk
      @ArcheryblogUk  Před 2 lety +3

Well I've been in archery around 7 years, and mine are all still fine. So a long time!

The more of anything you add to your bow, not only makes it heavier. But also very much slower.
