Been a fan of these guys after seeing them open for Saosin at The Glass House (best show ever btw) and New Nostalgia is insanely good, especially being their debut. From absolute ragers to chill melodies, there's a lot of different flavors in this album and it seems like their style really allows Cove to be more loose with his vocals. This album was definitely worth the wait.
Reminiscent to the first time I heard Van Halen first album,“ What The Fuck!?” came to mind. Can’t stop listening to this song!! Amazing vocals and musicianship, hear something new every listen.Rock and fuckin roll is back! Thank you Dead American!!

guess I'll provide a different perspective. hated cove in Saosin, I was an Anthony fanboy. Tried the white EP and self titled back when they came out and quickly realized cove's Saosin wasn't for me.
This, on the other hand, is incredible. Entire album. The instrumentals are perfect and Cove clearly found his voice. I like this better than silver string even lol. This stands entirely on its own, not just as a 'Saosin' companion piece. I've been converted.

@@badhousemedia6983 It was an honest question...I see this ALL THE TIME in the comments of "Christian" bands and am genuinely curious why it gets people so bent out of shape. Underoath got slammed for years. We're talking about words, that we (humans) made up and decided were "cuss words" and taboo. They convey emotion. Just curious why they have the ability to instantly shut a person off to the point they're unable to see how bad a** (uh oh) a song is musically and creatively just because of a made-up word that someone said was "bad." Thanks
@@paulreis427 Thats a very loaded question. I don't speak for anyone else as to why they get upset. I think for me, its that at one point it was a known issue that Coves religious beliefs were part of why he left Saosin. In a lot of ways, I feel bad that something happened in his life that either had him give up his beliefs or think certain things don't matter.
It's a command from The Apostle Paul to not let any crude speech or joking leave you (im paraphrasing) You're right that in the grand scheme of things, there are bigger things than someones course language to worry about.
However, 1. as a christian, it's understood by (most) that crude language isn't cool. Of course you'll get self professing christians who will swear and they either have a different opinion, or are immature in there faith and don't care. 2. Cove wrote the song. He probably drafted it a couple times AND changes some stuff up in studio when the song was in it's final stage. That said, he had every opportunity to find ANYTHING else to convey message, and he chose to keep swears. I personally don't feel that the words themselves or the entire lines of the song with swears in it add much of anything and I Find the lyrics of the song to be shallow. So I gave my personal take, that when Cove "identified" as some type of christianity, he wrote more complex and interestingly. So I made the comment that now he's coming off (to me) as just another "former christian" who writes grumpy lyrics with swears in them to make a clear statement that hes more edgy.
