    Nice reaction! I'm surprised you never listened to a lot of their classic records, there's even enough to make just an entire KGLW series hahaha
    I'll recommend you a lot Polygondwanaland, if you like prog music and polyrhytms this is probably gonna be your new favorite album. Crumbling Castle is probably one of the best songs they've done.

    i think you would like Im In Your Mind Fuzz, one of my top 3 gizzard albums - it has the high energy garage rock feel of this one in some moments, but is more chill and psychedelic in others

    I really love King Gizz. I consider 14 of their 25 albums (excluding Willougby's Beach and the Teenage Gizzard compilation album) to be my "favorites", but I love all of them really.
    (Edit because I sent the comment too fast lol)
    This album is incredible in my opinion. The "infinity" aspect is already really cool, but the fact that theres so much diversity and creativity and the songs are actually really good is why I love it.
    I especially love their early releases, "Float Along - Fill Your Lungs" being one of my absolute favorites. Theres something so "homemade" about them, and lots of their music videos from then feel so "2010s CZcams", esprcially Cellophane and Trapdoor, probably because thats when they were released.

    their lyrics usually do have some sense to them. a death roll is how a crocodile or alligator tears its prey apart because they cannot chew.

  • @GlitchWolf
    @GlitchWolf Před 7 měsíci +1

    Great video. I always felt Mr. Beat is like an intermission to the album. I think you'll trip hard on Murder of the Universe.

  • @Functionconjunction
    @Functionconjunction Před 8 měsíci +2

    King gizzard lyrics are often niche but rarely nonsensical. Evil death roll is referring to the technique used by crocodiles and alligators to kill their prey, and the song is about a murderous crocodile/alligator.
    Wah wah is referencing both crying and the wah wah pedal used heavily on this track, and is sung from the perspective of a demon, perhaps the devil.
    Nice reaction hope you do more king gizz!

      @@marysmusictaste Sketches of Brunswick East is my favourite album by them, it's very melodic/jazzy and chill with some edge but if that's not your thing go for Polygondwanaland. Most people consider Nonagon to be their Magnum Opus, which i respect, but to me it's Polygondwanaland. i love the really clean sound they go for after the first track Crumbling Castle which is easily one of my fav songs of all time.

    You gotta react to Poly. It’s not my absolute favorite of theirs, but it’s objectively the most insane and complex group of compositions they’ve got (outside of PDA and Changes).

    Gumboot Soup is rarely mentioned but it's a superb album. infact they're all fantastic. Polywangondwanaland is their prog album. Butterfly 3000 is their electronic psychedelic pop album. I'm in Your Minfuzz is Wow. They're amazing. I will see them in Edinburgh for the 4th time in May. Woooo

    Recommend Mind Fuzz or LW next. Mind Fuzz is more psychedelic, LW microtonal.
    Or for non King Gizz, how about Quebec or The Mollusk by Ween?

    Pretty please react to Discharge's 1982 album ''Hear nothing, See nothing, Say nothing''. This album has got to be the single most important album for hardcore punk which later led to genres like Grindcore to be born. Consider checking it out! :D

      @@marysmusictaste my number 1 is an American Band called the Decembrists. They have 8 albums, and the first 5 are genuinely 11/10 masterpieces. Their 6th and 7th are both 9.5 out of 10 and they’re final album is…just ok. But if you check out one album, you should check Out their 3rd one, picaresque. Every song tells a different story and it’s just heartbreaking and beautiful. My 2nd favoirte of all time is smashing pumpkins. The lead singer is also the lead guitarist and he’s my favorite guitarist of all time. Their 1st album is like a 10 and the second and third albums are so good I can’t even explain. Everything after that is mid. So yeah! If I could reccomend you 2 albums it would be Picaresque and Siamese Dream!
