Thanks Chris. I like this method over electrolisis.
Awesome Chris, I used the very same method on my last rusty restore!
👍 brilliant minds... 😂
Same system ive seen others do! Awesome results too!☆
Thanks Norma, it does most of the work for ya!!
Interesting! Back in the day, we used Red Devil Lye mixed in water, then laid an old zinc canning lid on top, let it set for....a long time and when the zinc lid had dissolved...the rust was gone. Used that method on several iron items and liked it but over the years I have given away all the artillery fragments and other iron items. But this was another great video Chris!!! Well done!!!
I’ve done the lye method as well, just gotten harder and harder to find those ol zinc lids. I like the vinegar method now but contrary to popular belief, vinegar attracts flies like crazy!
Good job, thanks for sharing
I use multiple coats of linseed oil to preserve iron objects.
I’ve heard of this method I just haven’t tried it yet. Maybe I’ll give it a go next bucket full, thanks!
I definitely am going to try this method and thanks for the amazing tip on not doing it when your loved one is home lol. Thank you and take care.
Safety third 😂
I can hear the Sandhills
Awesome video Chris! I will try this for sure...thank you!!!
Thanks Silvar, it’s slow but effective!
What's for dinner? Artillery shells and cheese sauce. LOL
💣 🧀
Hey Chris. I just dropped a new video, If you want to go to that location sometime let me know and I'll take you. Might be worth another shot when the brush dies down. Possibly some decent areas to screen too. I figured out the easiest way to get there so no bushwhacking required. lol.
I’m in brother. Been stuck here with Myrtle so long I’m going crazy so I will be looking forward to a respite this fall as the weather cools and the bugs die 🕷! Hope all is well with errbody up round the homeplace.
Being stuck at the house for long periods of time is definitely tough! I hope everything is improving well with Myrtle. All is well on this end. I'm also looking forward to the fall. I missed the treasure hunting season this spring, so I'm itching to travel a bit to see some new scenery soon.
JD's Variety Channel well just holler and if I can sneak away I’m ready for sure
Interesting...I just leave um as is. I hear sandhill cranes and at the end possibly Myrtle. Hope y'all are doing well, see you'ns later.
I was leaving em too but I was leaving little rust piles all over. This method is so easy I just throw em all in the bucket now and wait. Been putting the finished ones in big pickle jars for display.
Good morning Chris, I hope Cassie Lee don't see this video! Lol very nice
😂 😆
Does the "rust converter" convert it to black oxide?
There are two active ingredients: Tannic acid and an organic polymer. The first ingredient, tannic acid, reacts with iron oxide (rust) and chemically converts it to iron tannate, a dark-colored stable material. The second active ingredient, 2-Butoxyethanol, is an organic polymer that provides a protective primer layer. The overall chemical reaction converts rust into a stable, black protective polymeric coating.
If Kathy Lee only knew what went on in that kitchen before you started supper.
😂😂😂
What is your loved one watches the video ?? 😝😝😝😝😝
