- If you're coming to the UK, I definitely recommend a trip to Glastonbury - just three hours from London! Apologies for the shaky footage, tripods are not allowed in the abbey and are impractical for the tor.
I feel like I'm learning so much about making videos and (I hope) they are slowly improving in quality and content. Thank you for coming on this journey with me!

The lady of the mercians it does not get more medieval than this and thank you for all your videos they are interesting fascinating and educational
I was obsessed the the legend of King Arthur as a boy (possibly because the one of the only movies we had on vhs was Sword in the Stone). I’d really like to visit there! Thanks for the tour!
I love The Sword in the Stone - an entirely underrated Disney movie (and brilliant book!)
@@lady_of_the_mercians wHY IS Your CZcams name " Lady Of the Mercians" when you are not American , and sound English?
@@michaelhawkins7389 Mercia was one of the three notable Anglic kingdoms founded after Sub-Roman Britain was settled by Anglo-Saxons in an era called the Heptarchy. It was centred on the River Trent and its tributaries, in a region now known as the Midlands of England.
@@TYLENOL55 oh yeah lol I forgot about that , so didn't think from a Historical point of view hahaha
@@michaelhawkins7389you act so much like american
The rural life museum is worth visiting as it takes in the wider agricultural history of the area and also had the tythe barn in it's grounds.
Thank you for the tour!
Thank you for watching!
The Merlin theme in the background seems fitting! Love the video :)
I wanted to include the sad theme from the end of the series but couldn't find one under creative commons license 😢
I really like your channel! You present content in such a pleasant manner - I could listen to you for hours.
I think for longer form videos, doing these tours of various locations is really interesting and valuable. Thank you!

It never fails going over and rewatching your videos, There's always something I miss the first time.
Thank you for the tour, hope to see more content like that.
I'm off on a very exciting trip this week to find a ruined medieval church, will defo post a video!
@@lady_of_the_mercians lookin forward too!
I have been rewatching this show (Merlin) and also binge watching all of your videos because I love history and architecture. This "tour" is fantastic.

Used to live in glasto many years ago. Glad you both had a lovely visit.
I love the merlin theme on the piano
I really hope you make more longer form content! I am in love with your story telling, calming voice, and wonderful camera work. Not to mention the fascinating history.
You are such a wonderful tour guide. Thank you for making these trips and producing these videos.
Greetings from Arizona! I love the channel, especially the name.
Please keep making videos. Separating the voiceover from the video works for you, it is more documentary style than a lot of the channels I watch. Your videographer is doing a good job too, she has a nice eye for interesting shots and angles.
I just discovered you and your channel a few moths ago and subbed instantly!! I LOVE history and am very fond of English history. As someone from the USA it might seem silly, but English history is absolutely fascinating!
My son is studying (maybe near your age) linguistics. He too is enjoying your videos and shorts.
You are adorable… keep up the good work!
Youre the only person I’d ever tell to make a podcast
I could listen to you speak endlessly. Please make podcasts or something.
Beautiful and fascinating history, footage and work in general 👏
Your historical prowess is simply amazing. I wonder how many of us have common ancestors that lived, loved and carried out their lives in all these amazing places. Here I sit 4600 miles away and separated by hundreds of years fascinated by the lives they lived.
Many thanks
Andy ❤
Please do Celtic and Grail legends! I'm rooting for you to get noticed by BBC ❤
I love your videos, but they need to be longer. Glastonbury is one of my special places, it’s so spiritual and the Chalice Well is heavenly. Thanks.
This was really relaxing to watch, would love to see more of this
Thank you for these amazing videos. ❤
Lovely stuff! So glad I found your channel!
Brilliant stuff, please do keep on making these videos!
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Looking forward to more!
Thank you!
Excellent script, filming and editing. Well done, thank you for the presentation.
I just found your channel. As a fellow lover of history I thank you for spending your time sharing these stories with us. Your videos are very polished and well-presented.
You are the most beautiful part if this post , thank you for this channel.
I have learned more from these videos than actually living here for 7 years, you should upload more. Great stuff!
So great! Please make more videos at these stunning sites and I'll keep watching
Fab 'snapshot' of Glasto actually one of the best I've watched on YT. Very evocative, informative and peaceful. Thank you
I just found your channel, and I am completely fascinated by your work! I'm excited to watch all of your videos.
Thank you for sharing this with us. My dream vacation is to visit some of these sights someday. I could spend the whole day exploring these places, but for now, I'll gladly explore them through your videos. Thank you.
I love love LOVE this channel!! Keep going! I moved to central Somerset from London 3 years ago, so it's so nice to see your videos
The ascension up stairs in medieval art, is a rich topic for your channel.... Also'tour' in modern French is translated as 'tower' in to English.
Travelling in my youth, the experiences I had in Glastonbury changed me forever.
As a person who loves and knows history from all time period's it is great to find this channel.
Plus the presenter is stunning, imagine the great informative chats her date's must have.
astounding
Thank you
Fantastic - a lady interested in history is just wonderful!! I hope to find a soulmate with the same passion as you !
Wow, I love history, and I studied quite a lot of British history during high school; from the Roman invasion, till the end of the cold war... But I didn't know there were so many well preserved ruins! Makes sense in the context of Henry VIII, but there's just something about ruins, or reused parts of buildings, that makes them more interesting than actually preserved buildings. I think it's the way they send your imagination flying, trying to picture what they would've looked like in their heyday.
I wanted to thank you for showing us these wonderful places, and hope that you continue to do so!
PS, have you considered making curated tours of these sites? Maybe guides for tourists that want to visit the UK's medieval sites? I've seen other history CZcamsrs even offer paid guided tours, I'm sure there would be many takers!
Merlin, what a great show, can’t believe I’ve only just found this
Beautiful! I'm an American visiting the UK for about another month, I'll have to add this to my list of places to see!
www.youtube.com/@BritainsHiddenHistoryRoss
GB lecks of forest. Anyway it's beautiful. Both, the countryside and you!
Beautiful area! Adding it to the list :)
Beautiful spit-roast, Charlotte
You are lovely. Loving the history too.
Thank you! Lots more history to be found in the South West - I've got lots of ideas :)
I like this
Thank you!
You could and probably will get a bigtime presenting contract with the BBC. Voice, vision vibe. All on point.
Interesting, thank you.
King Henry the 8th. Destroyer of chapels, Speedrunner of wives, Ruiner of a good portion of history. There now he has a good title
Really good, binge watching your videos, please keep them coming
Wonderful video. I walked up to the tor with a friend of mine the other day who's also into history, and he told me about Richard Whiting, the last Abbot of Glastonbury, who was hanged on the tor after refusing to surrender the abbey in 1539. His execution must have been visible for miles around.
dig the tour, keep it up
You look fantabulous!😊
Great channel ❤
Glad you enjoy it!
The Merlin music won me over IMMEDIATELY. I watched a bunch of the shorts with LOTR music and stuff but this seals the deal. Merlin music wins the game!!
Not to mention excellent content, and it’s so cool watching so many videos about places so close to where I live, Glastonbury is only a 30min drive from me haha
www.youtube.com/@BritainsHiddenHistoryRoss
Such a crush. ❤
You have a new sub, I found you through a short.
Your doing such a great job. Please keep it up. In the description you mentioned worrying about shake. First it wasn't bad at all. Second do you have a selfie stick with an anti shake gimble? They are great and if not I would happily contribute towards one if you have a means to do so like a Patreon or such
From bristol just sae you vids love them
❤
love your channel! You do a really nice job with the Shorts and with the longer standard videos. Cant wait for more!
Un abrazo desde México
The merlin music in the background
I would bet that you would enjoy the numerous Renaissance Festivals in the US. That is, before they all went “game of thrones,” as if that was accurate history.
Anyone touring the area should also go to Wells, I think, and the Queen Vic at Priddy.
Convinced your background music is just runescape music but high quality😭 sick video tho
Do one on merlin
🖤👍👏
Cool.
So you came to Glastonbury. Did you do Alfredds Tower too?
Please don't give up on these videos.
I have to ask this, where did all the stone and rock come from for all these ancient buildings? Most of ours is wood and brick.
Do you read Bernard Cornwell?
Audio is a little quiet on this video. Really like all the medieval architecture you go to in your videos with a little history and sometimes Elder Scrolls music thrown in. I doubt you read this comments but do you happen to know much about Tewkesbury? Seems to be hard to find information on that town. Only ask because I noticed you have some Gloucester videos nearby. Just a curious American with ancestors from Tewkesbury. Have a family bible which I guess was a bible thing in the 1600-1800s since that is when most of my ancestors wrote down dates of weddings, births, baptisms, and deaths of ancestors mentioning going to Gloucester for some of the events leaving Tewkesbury.
my dad got the bright idea to name me Merlin. one of my names anyway.
we're not even from the UK 😂
Idk wether I'm getting hooked to your videos or YOU 😮 nothing like natural beauty ❤ the history and knowledge is a bonus 🙈
Do you go traveling to visit other castles? Hugs my lovely queen 👸❤
Here lies Arthur,King once...and King to be
I was never more moved at an archaeological site . I drank from the well. go see this place .
please come Lichfield i can help with the camera work if needed.
Was your cheeky wish for 100k subscribers? Or maybe a nice shepherds pie?😅
I love your videos but please take steps to improve sound. I can barely hear you at full volume.
Very interesting but you missed the 13th C inn down the main street. Trust a man to make for that!
Girlfriend as in friend that's a girl or romantic partner?
Why are there so many "lady chapels" in the UK? Were they for gender-segregated worship? Or dedicated to holy women?
All I can think is “Old Woman”
“MAN”
2:00 What did you wish for?. Where you sat in Glastonbury Tor has sat ,Barack Obama,Kate Bush, Bill Clinton, Neil degrass Tyson, Patrick Moore, Queen Elizabeth II, professor Brian Cox, Neil Armstrong, and ofcourse me😂😂
Slightly difficult to hear
What is a medieval tour? Do I need to dress appropriately? Maybe we could have a tour of medieval Glastonbury
@lady_of_the_mercians >>> Great video...👍
