80s & EARLY 90s BLACKBOOK WORK

  • Here`s a collection of some 80s and early 90s graffiti sketches. When I look through these images I can certainly feel that back in the day graffiti had more of an attitude - the letters were more formulated and the characters had well more character - instead of the repetitive dreamy look of today's characters back then each character fought to enforce superiority and dominance in order to portray the strength and ability of its creator. The letters alone are stunning and still hold such an influence to many these days. I was lucky enough to have gone through this era and remember the raw feeling and excitement when seeing new styles emerging. My comparisons are not trying to belittle the artists who were not there in these times but rather as an alternative voice. Research graffiti history and pay homage to the artists that gave the world such a blessed period.
Thanks for your support and interest in what I do.All the time and effort not only in painting or finding locations, editing the videos and taking the time to maybe entertain you for a few minutes can simply be rewarded with a like and a sub - help to support a tiny part if you can, it would be greatly appreciated, respect.

Those great old days of getting hold of photocopies of great outlines and sketches or if you were really lucky, an original in the blackbook. Those Bando outlines were like gold. In fact they still are!

Man for sure - a nice thick envelope with 3-4 outlines where so awesome to get, then the Zines started coming in a quid or even at 50p. I am still amazed at how kids who liked to paint walls have transformed things to the way it is now but I miss and would love to see them golden times again.

Thank you man and yeah welcome, I hope that you can find some good viewing on here. The BBOY was done by CMP for the Danish graffiti zine Fantazie - I used to get sent a lot of stuff from over there at that time. I did an interview with CMP back in around 2006 he`s a damn fine chap - I`ll try and dig it out and make a video with it I also did Totem2, Neck CNS, Kilo, Kapi and a bunch of other - I`ll hop to it.
