Yep, JHope's been a part of BTS for 10+ years. Before that he was a well-known dancer in his province and even won awards at the national level for street dancing with a crew called Neuron. In 2022 with BTS on pause as they started to stagger their mandatory South Korean military service (they are all in now), he released his 1st official solo album called Jack in the Box (he also released a mixtape free on S0undcl0ud called Hope World back in 2018) - 2022 he also headlined Lollapalooza and smashed their ticket sales for the day he performed and had 100k+ at his stage. Lolla is also where he met JCole - who JHope calls his muse, hence partly his stage name and the name of his mixtape. A few MV to check out of JH = Arson, More, Airplane, Daydream. BTS themselves are a 7 member group that have been together for 11 years (+ for some 1-3 years as trainees - a common thing for artist development in SK). They have a tight bond and consider themselves family & brothers. There's 3 rappers (RM, Suga aka Agust D & J-Hope) & 4 vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V & Jungkook). They are basically considered a supergroup with all 7 members having released their own successful solo projects through 2022-2023 - currently all 7 members are completing their mandatory military service (Jin and JHope will finish this year) and are expected to reunite as a group in 2025. They have a huge discography that spans genres (keep in mind that K-pop itself isn't a genre - it can be a mix of different types of music - but includes MV, concepts/fashion, choreography, etc.) BTS themselves have been industry disruptors both domestically and internationally but unfortunately, even though there's aspects to their music/artistry that set them apart from k-pop they have to constantly work against the preconceived ideas and prejudices that are placed on them bc of the K-pop label.
They released a cover of Born Sinner by JCole called Born Singer (czcams.com/video/dE68ZbmDi_A/video.htmlsi=jDBaZDEQCWsZ-VG2 2015/2017 stage mix) back in July 2013 that they put up for free on s0undcl0ud - they wrote their own lyrics about their feelings/experience 1 month after their debut as a group. JCole actually gave them permission and it was finally officially recorded and included as the 1st track of their anthology album called Proof (2022) (czcams.com/video/oH4IZw9PYgk/video.htmlsi=jcTHoLVdvVYPgpCc) - would highly recommend reacting to Born Singer - both if you can but the earlier stage mix if you only want to do one.
Dang the history is extensive I never knew any of that and it’s so cool that JHope was inspired by J Cole! No wonder they were so popular since they individually were so talented already

Yoonmirae is Korean/American and married to one of the OG's of Korean HipHop Tiger JK.
It's Korean and English J Hope is one of the 3 Rapper's of the Biggest Global Groups on the planet the only Group in the Top 10 Global Artist List. He's part of BTS. He's also an amazing Dancer and Neuron was the Street Dance Crew he was part of Prior to BTS. He's been Rapping, Singing, Dancing Song writing, Composing and Producing since before BTS debut in June 2013 so he have over 10years experience in the Music Industry. This is his second solo album and the sound track to his documentary as he went around the world meeting up with other Street Dancers. All 7 members not only work together as the group BTS they also all have solo work. The 3 Rappers having the most solo work but the 4 vocalist aren't that far behind. They see solo work as part artist development and take back what they learn to the group. They took some time off group work so all the members could do some more solo work before they started their military service. They'll be re uniting in June 2025 when they'll all have finished their military duties.

Already left long comments about JHope & BTS, but I highly recommend you going down that rabbit hole - you'll be surprised! Yoon Mirae is considered the Queen of Rap in Korea. She is a Korean-African Am rapper who is married to another Korean OG rapper Drunken Tiger. Apparently back in 2010 JHope used her song "Black Happiness" when he was auditioning for BTS. Black Happiness is worth checking out, it's a biographical song about the hardships she experienced being biracial in Korea. Her and her husband have also been advocates against child abuse and she's worked to raise awareness for bi-racial families in SK. She's a part of a hiphop trio with Drunken Tiger called MFBTY (My Fans Better Than Yours). Gaeko is also a hiphop OG in SK and part of a duo called Dynamic Duo.

Yoonmirae is a half Korean-Black rapper in Korea (father is a black man). She is famous in Korea, considered the queen of rap in Korea. She has been around for many years. She is married to Drunken Tiger, a famous rapper.
So, YoonMiRae, English name Tasha, is known as the Godmother of Korean hiphop. She’s biracial (dad is Black American and mom is Korean). There is a connection between her and J-Hope as he used her music to dance to when he first auditioned. She possesses both a gorgeous singing voice and amazing rapping skills. If you decide to delve into Korean HipHop, her music is beautiful.
As a BTS ARMY who discovered them through my love for Korean HipHop, Yoon😊MiRae is one of my can’t misses.

Hi, J-Hope is the Dance Leader, Main Dancer, and Rapper in BTS. BTS are a seven member group that debuted in 2013 as a HIP HOP IDOL Group in South Korea. They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. They are the most successful Group in the World, and they have been for many years now. All seven of the members took a group break in 2022, so they could do their solo projects before enlisting in the Military for their mandatory service. They have been enlisted since December 12, 2023. They are still releasing music and content while they are enlisted.
J-Hope just released his album on March 28, 2024, which is an OST - Original Sound Track for his docuseries that was released on the same day. It's all about his dance journey, and he travelled different countries to meet different street dancers that are experts in their field. And his journey has been fascinating. Anyway, each song he wrote is to cover different genre's of dance. He's such a down to earth guy and so talented. He also has a mixtape and another album called Jack In The Box. I am going to link you the visualizer to this song, because J-Hope is in the song and it's from his docuseries. He released it recently. There are no subtitles on it, but it's mainly to watch the dance and get the history. I hope you like it. Also, I will leave you with his J-Cole collaboration. That one was awesome, and he wrote the song for his fans before enlisting. That one does have subtitles.

I really really really think that you'll like "right place wrong person" album by rm. It's really experimental and has very unexpected tracts. My fav songs from that album are "nuts" "around the world in a day" "heaven"

His next album (Jack in the Box) was such a new darker grungier vibe but no matter what, he's always bringing positivity in the lyrics. This new one Hope on the Street is a return to his street dancing roots and is another beautiful vibe but whole new style. And he's just one member of BTS. Each one has their own style and even change it up in their solo work too. The versatility of this group... no genre is off-limits. They just go with the style and flow that fits the message they want to say at the time. Also... if no one mentioned... YoonMirae is huge in the Korean HipHop scene but she is actually from Texas! Her dad is African American and her mom South Korean. She married a rap artist named Tiger JK in 2007 who collabed with other BTS members as well. They are fire too.
