    This takes me back when I worked for OPENREACH on most of the housing estates duct blockages were due to water electric and gas companies damaging the duct other times the cobra would go through easily

    Why doesn't someone develop a tube type rod that will handle compressed air down it to clear debris ? .

    Flex rod assessmble is for swept T's, not for blockages.

    First one definitely wasn’t a blockage probably just getting caught on the collar of the swept T

    When I was at it, used 3M yellow rods that screwed together.

    Push 25mm water pipe down to the swept T and push cobra threw the water pipe to stop it snagging or instead of cable ties use a piece of electric cable bent in half and tape to the cobra it’s a lot stronger and curves well

      Its crazy, at our old place built 1955 and with 50s lines n ducts (maybe 60s) we got 57down, 15up
      Our new 1995 place gets 5down
      Thats fttc btw
      Built on a swap as we used to call that place

      No they do run near water pipes though and the water companies do like to smash everything up when they dig. Keeps the economy going though.

    Trust me you can’t get through a blockage unless you clear it

    • @jtballnuts
      @jtballnuts Před rokem +1

      Yes you can. It all depends on what’s caused the blockage.

      Really depends what’s blocking it hey..? I’ve had a few jobs where the ‘engineer ‘ needed civils to repair a blocked duct, turns out he just needed his weetabix. Other times you’ve got a section of 4 inch clay duct a meter below needing a big repair..
      you get to know what blockage feels like what.
