    Great video , great comparison !! This is exactly what I was looking for . I'm going with the active jacket .don't need all the bells and whistles on the Bartlett. Also I'm not 100 % sure but I think the quilted flannel is their warmest lining under the arctic lining. The only thing I'm worried about is the ribbed knit waist band riding up during movement.

    • @WoolysWorld
      @WoolysWorld  Před 2 lety +2

      I checked, a few times. They have a confusing system for warmth but the Sherpa is warmer than the flannel lined....... I think lol

      I've had the "Carhartt J141 - Sierra Sandstone Jacket - Sherpa Lined" for about 2 weeks now. American import to the UK. £135. It's a beast. Has the heavy duty quality that Wooly said for the Active jacket. It's got the active look for sure but the cotton duck is continuous to the base of the jacket so there isn't an elastic hem (it does have the elastic hem on the wrists though), but the rear arm pleats like the Bartlett and the hood looks more like Bartlett to me. If you can still find one, grab one. I love it. Going to rock it all winter and see how it holds up in good rain. So far, walking gale force wind at Curbar Edge in the Peak District I don't feel the wind on body or around my ears because the hood is so heavy, like the rest of it. Sick jacket!
      I'm 5ft 6", 38" chest. I got the medium which is like an over-sized hoodie. But the small was way too tight for me personally, and I wanted it to be chunky.
      I'm gonna get the lead in Hollywood's next action flick now!

    Great video, just purchased an active jacket.. absolutely superb jacket lovely fit and a great warmth and weight to it. I'm also from the UK and purchased a Carhartt artic jacket from New Jersey 20 odd years ago. Still as good now as it was then. Basically great outdoor wear. 👍🏻👍🏻

    Purchased the Bartlett, it came in the mail today. This video was a significant help in deciding. It's just a damned good looking piece. I forgot what you said about the zipper, and realized the same thing. I have Carhartt's mid-weight and paxton hoodies, and both have bigger and better zippers than the Bartlett. Not just the size - the Bartlett one feels like it's made of cheaper allow, while the Paxton's feels like solid brass. Can't imagine why a $50 hoodie has such a superior zipper to a heavy and pricier jacket. Everything else about the Bartlett, I love. Probably will pick up the Active too at some point.

  • @olehemlock
    @olehemlock Před 2 lety +9

    The Bartlett looks like it has pockets on the front that will accommodate today’s cell phones. I also like the double snaps in the front pockets also. I have shirts with double buttons like that, I always keep one of the buttons buttoned up. If I have my phone in my pocket I can bend over and it won’t fall out but it can easily pulled out of the pocket if needed.
    I’m a Detroit Jacket kind of guy but the Bartlett my be more practical in today’s world.

    I’ve owned an active before and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it. I wore the hell out of that jacket.
    Recently I’ve been on the market for a new work jacket. I ended up going with the bartlett instead of the active. I needed something a little warmer, and I also think the Bartlett looks a bit better. The active is a bit comfier, and a little more streamlined, but the Bartlett is a bit warmer and looks better, in my opinion.
    They’re not great jackets, regardless.
