Additional note: Blaze is already a princess and the guardian of the Sol Emeralds, while Sonic is one of the few people who has canonically maintained control of the Chaos Emeralds' power for a non-sinister purpose. (Bonus points for the fact that Sonic later goes on to become a legendary knight and king)

Aj styles Only sonic game I ever played in my childhood, and one of the few "good" sonic games. I will ofcourse take a quality mario game over sonic any day but this game is kinda special.

I remember listening to the music getting sped up when the boss was low as a kid and I would just get pumped up and excited all of a sudden. The OST of this game is so, so great.

can we just appreciate the subtle animations in that final handshake between blaze and sonic? I think it really let their different character aspects shine. definitely had more charm than some of these new games...

a thing I found when I was little in the egg salamander is that if you press a and b repeatedly like in the sonic vs blaze fight when sonic and blaze do their finisher move the egg salamander leaves the screen sooner lol

Ah yes, Sonic Rush. When Eggman had the sense to build robots with insta-kill attacks and durability that stood up to more than just three hits.
This is a really cool set of bosses. Design, animation, fun factor of the fights...Rush knocks it out of the park.
Wow I would have thought that Sonic Rush was old enough to still have the original voice actors for Sonic and Eggman. I guess I just found out that Griffith and Pollock started in '05. Cool

I actually just noticed this! During the entire final boss, you're slowly losing rings!
Super Sonic has always had a timer based on the amount of rings you have (so the player can't just breeze past the levels while being invincible, the ring timer doesn't exist in the lore) since he was introduced in Sonic 2.

These games deserve another chance. They were a fascinating mutation of the classic sonic formula that can do well as smaller scale titles in between major releases.
I finally beat Exception the other day. Definitely harder than it looks.
This was the first Sonic game I ever got. So many great memories. That final boss was a real pain for me.

I love this game! It's one of the faster Sonic games out there, on levels of speed with Sonic Unleashed: Wii (Really great game, by the way) And I even know a trick to the boss stages: If you charge a SpinDash and jump right after, you get a MASSIVE speed boost!
