When my best friend died a couple of years ago, I was going through old photos on my computer. I remember listening to TH1[slo]. It seemed so fitting somehow. Kinda dark and empty to reflect my mood, but also very deep and eternal in a comforting way.
I think Aphex Twin is an electronic music genius! I am delighted with his music, I have been watching closely what he creates for years. Now I have found this compilation and am so impressed !! Very interesting material. I am listening with delight. Great!
Plus if you would like an intelligent conversation then let's start one. Are you highly educated? How do you relate awareness to a few words or do you feel that being ignorant is progressive to society?
I dont know if any of you have ever played penumbra/amnesia, but the first track sounds very similar to the sort of unnerving, washy soundtrack to such games. I'd love to hear Aphex do a soundtrack.
+Jake Burgess : aphex did a ton of commercial work for dish soap, automobiles, and movie and television soundtracks. this is how most 'underground' artists make their living. It's more lucrative than recording or touring
It's RDJ, he uploaded these files to SoundCloud a few years ago, and later deleted them. He knew the internet would hang on tightly to them, of course. Anyway, Syro is an amazing record, one of his best yet, imo, but incidentally, these SAW Vol 3-6 fan-curated collections by whirylbird have become my favorite way to pump AFX into my lumpy, grey matter for a while now. The material itself is amazing, and props to whoever whilybird is, because he or she did an amazing job selecting tracks from the filedump on SoundCloud and then sequenced them quite cleverly. The real stroke of genius of these four videos, or "albums," is the way they manage to illuminate the artist's working process...which, based on everything that's publicly known about RDJ, is probably the single greatest contributing factor to why he's the undisputed heavyweight champion of this sort of music. Lots of talented people making, you know, electro-ambient/IDM/acid-techno/whathaveya, but none of them have the resume RDJ does (child prodigy circuit-fiddling wiz, engineering degree, reinvented ambient music, invented jungle, still the single biggest influence on electronic music today, etc.). I mean...so much music making software out there today quite literally continues using the programming code RDJ managed to write before anyone had even heard of him. If that does spin your hat around your head, I don't know what could.
I'd like to disagree for the sake of humour....but it definately won't implode. Isn't it actualluy slowly imploding at the moment or are we still exploding?
I devvvin I I occasionally think I'm sort-of okay sometimes, but thank you! Aphex Twin is a magnet for creative minds, according to my newest theory. Boom-chicka-boom-boom!

A fight in the comment section of a ambient music clip? Fascinating.
Yeah, but if people don't argue in a CZcams comment section the universe will implode
No it won't.
I'd like to disagree for the sake of humour....but it definately won't implode. Isn't it actualluy slowly imploding at the moment or are we still exploding?
