    Dr. Julie is amazing and her videos are very easy for anyone to understand. I had the pleasure of actually contacting her and I live in Canada. She actually called me back and i was able to talk with her directly ! This was great! She is awesome. If i lived in the US where she is i would definitely be in her clinic getting my rehab treatments from her and her team. Keep up the great work Dr. Julie

    I have esotropia and from my experience I only wear them when driving. They are a temporary band aid and I agree with you on training your eyes. I have been doing exercises and keeping my eyes hydrated and staying of the cellphone. I notice that the muscle control has improved. It's not perfect, but the peripheral vision is more fluid and controlled where it was like jerky before. I practice eyetracking when I'm out and about sitting at a park. I try to focus on using both eyes together. I notice when cars move its really difficult to keep both eyes focused when I'm moving left to right, but it's getting better slowly over time.

      @@lightsidegaming5476 I'm still struggling with the double vision, but I find when I do the exercises my eye coordination is better and it seems to open up my peripheral vision. It also seems to relieve some of the double vision, eyestrain, and headaches, although not completely. I'm hopeful that things will improve in time. I just have to have patience.

      No clue. There are many filters and each case is different. Talking about that is equivalent to prescribing medication to someone on youtube. They help with esotropia for sure as I have it pretty bad both eyes, but you become dependent on the prism and gets stonger over time I'm 5base out each eye.

      @Vision Therapy yup, I'm pretty prism dependent now, i started wearing glasses (myopia and astigmatism)with prism in my left lens in 2017 2 base out yr later 3 base out 2yrs after went to 5base out then in 2021 my right eye completely turned inwards and needed 5base out right from there. So I knownits going to increase more and more over time how much not sure but hopefully not to bad. Joys of esotropia I guess lol.

      @Vision Therapy I'm in canada so I'm not near your guys office. My optometrist hasn't mentioned vision therapy yet maybe cause my prisms are strong enough I don't know. I don't mind the glasses to be honest either gets expensive when have to buy thin lens almost every year lol. As long as it don't go to much higher or stops where it is I'm happy. In your opinion think it will keep getting stronger and stronger or will it stop

    What about for eyes that go upward or downward?

    • @visontherapy
      @visontherapy  Před rokem

      Tara, there are prisms for that too but just to be clear, we do not advocate prisms as a solution to these issues as it is only a band aid that tends to make things worse over time. That is why we correct these conditions without our patients having to wear prisms.

    I was prescribed base down prism for my esotropia. They said shifting eyes up would help open up visual field. Could you elaborate. Im unsure what type of prism i should try. Base out works but its hard to switch in an out with my other near glasses. Base down doesn't have same effect

    • @visontherapy
      @visontherapy  Před rokem

      Hi Jessica, we only use special hand held prisms in therapy and usually for only about 5 mins a day and not for regular or long term use as is often recommended to many. Our goal with our patients is to improve vision and as much as possible eliminate prism use entirely.

    Hi Dr. Julie. I have a 6 year old son with exotropia. We are based in Texas though, do you have offices in Texas you could refer me to?

    • @visontherapy
      @visontherapy  Před rokem

      Hi Xochitl, that’s a great question!
      See Dr Julie’s response 👇🏾
      Xochitl, I do not have any offices to refer you to for two reasons.
      First we work with clients from around the globe and thus location is no matter.
      Secondly, my approach to therapy is different from many other docs not only as a result of being focused on this for more over 15yrs now and not just doing VT as an add on to my traditional eye care clinic (ran a general vision clinic for 4yrs prior so 19yrs total).
      So, due to this expertise and experience I not only train and coach docs on how to achieve the outcomes that we do in our clinic, but also regularly work with patients who had attempted treatment elsewhere.
      Now, am I saying I’m the only one that can help your kiddo? Absolutely not!
      But we would love to help him! So if you desire you can take the first exploratory step by scheduling and online consult with me here:
      visionforlifeworks.com
      I hope that helps? Looking forward to seeing you on a consult if you choose that.
      Thanks for being here. 🙏🏽
