- Live demo, recorded by @joewestau of this alarmingly clean and original 1964 Fender Stratocaster.
Owned by the guitarist of one of Australia's biggest Surf groups of the 1960s - This guitar is one of two near identical 1964 Stratocasters. The other guitar was his main work horse, while this one was safely tucked away for several decades. In fact, when we received this guitar, it hadn't had its strings changed in 20 years! This guitar is seriously clean, just look at the headstock. It is very hard to believe this thing is 59 years old! This guitar was played through a 1964 Fender Vibroverb which has since been sold. We hope you enjoy hearing Joe pulling some fabulous tones out of this fabulous guitar. Enjoy!

Was called clown burst lots of red in finish …that one is impeccable…awesome guitar plus Dark Brazilian rosewood board 🤙🏻
I walked into the opening of the Guitar Center mega store on the Sunset Strip back in 85' - I turned around and was dazzled by the 54, the '55, the'56', the 57', and the 58', offered on the wall for sale that night - it 100% turned me into a vintage guitar nerd. And seeing the stories told on the necks of those old 50's maple neck stuck with me more tonally that living my youth in Hollywood in the 80's
My very first guitar, was a 1954 Stratocaster my dad gave me for Christmas of 1963 ... My second guitar was a 1964 Stratocaster.
Wonderful sound !!!!
I had one of those .... bought it used in 1965, but it was essentially brand new. Real fine guitar work, here ... very nice.
Thanks man!
@@premierguitars You are very welcome, sir.
~ Perfection ~ the sustain, and the sizzle when pushed is insane... harmonic content beyond belief ... truly inspirational.... sure do wish they still made them like this one !! Goodness indeed.... 🔥🎸🎸🔥
They're still make them, you just need to wait 60 years to let the wood dry.
Wonderfully articulate description, Mark. There really is something else about the real deal.
Sounds fantastic guys... I'll take 2!
haha! It does have a more played in twin. Both same owner, side by side in the shop!
Beautiful piece of Fender history, the 2 E strings seem very close to the fret board edges ?.
Interesting observation. All's I can say is it plays real nice!
Could just be slightly wider string spacing at the nut
what you saw was right... most fenders do ::;;; personally, it's a bit disappointing
Tastefully demonstrated.
It looks brand new
200th '64 LIke!!!!
Sounds like wood + electricity 👍🏻 🎶
Ain't nothing wrong with that!
Beautiful man. What amp / pedals?
Thats straight into a 1964 Fender Vibroverb. Nice combo!
driving a Shelby in 1st gear.......
Hahaha
That'll still get you to 40 mph right?
Would be worth more if relic'd. 🤣🤣🤣
Incredible!!!!
It sure is, they really don't come much cleaner than this.
@@premierguitars I can totally understand this. I have EC signature, MiM 50' and JV squier 1983, but it can't be compared, even played with 1969 Twin reverb. One of the best sounds I've ever heard. Congrats!
for those wondering, the first song he plays is change the world by Eric Clapton. Awesome playing.
