- I have a 2008 Honda Civic Mugen Si. I would be driving normal, then the VSA and /!\ lights come on out of nowhere. I tried pressing and repressing the VSA OFF button. The lights dont go off unless i turn the car off and restart it. It has happed to me several times in the past 3 months. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
UPDATED: The problem was a fault in the brake switch triggering the VSA light to come on. It was covered under warranty..
hm.. try resetting your ecu.. take the negative terminal of your battery off for about 10 seconds then put it back on.. plus, i'm not sure if you know this, but after you reset your ecu, all honda's go into learning mode to reprogram your timing. so after you reset your ecu, run your car hard and it will set a more aggressive timing map and make your car faster.
@mightynimbus Its supposed to do that. When u press the "VSA OFF" button the /!\ will come ON, stating that VSA is OFF. When u press the button "VSA OFF" again the /!\ will go OFF, stating that VSA is ON. So whenever the /!\ light is OFF, then VSA is ON. And when the /!\ light is ON, then VSA is OFF. All 2007 - 2011 Sis are supposed to do that. Thats how the car works.
But if u have the letters 'VSA" and " /!\ " lit up, like i had in the vid, then there is a problem with the VSA.
Thanks to God
Today I fix it alone
Only you have to replace the fuse number 10
The hazard fuse
That sucks man.
January is like right here. I was the same way when i first got my mugen b4 i had my license. I drove, raced, and everything with my permit. Now that i got my license i drive 1/2 as much as i used to. You guys are lucky you get free gas.
@MD FAZLE CHOWDHURY It was covered under warranty. All I needed was a new brake switch for the VSA. Im not sure but there might be a TSB about it.
yeah, i have, a lot of people do it after they get mods like intake or exhaust, etc. it's best to do it once you get both so the engine can adjust to the higher volume or air going in and out. try it out :)
If its just because of your mods they will fix it, unless you have aftermarket wheels/suspension. If its because of it being out of warranty they might charge you about 1 hr labor. But they will just replace or reposition the VSA Brake Switch.
there is a connecting plate between the Brake switch and the VSA switch if the connection is dirty or wet or even damp. When you have the E-brake on or apply brakes the VSA display light will come on They never fixed it they cleaned and "maybe" moved it over more
@1990petethegreek Not even close. Mine came on while braking or slowing down. Turns out the problem was the brake switch. Sounds like you have a more serious problem with yours.
@jerzii9221 Yeah, but you will have to talk to the service manager and tell them exactly what is happening because the regular service people said its not. Im gettin mine fixed when i get back to the US.
Nice. I will. How long are you do you run the car after you do that?
@mightynimbus No prob man. Thanks. Nice.
You should keep the Runner too. Yotas are nice and go forever.
@yourniga They just said it was the brake switch. And they fixed it.
@belizetj I don't know how it happened i am guessing that the shop that installed my lowering springs had something to do with it they problably forgot to put it back or something
@LemonSkyline The car messed up itself. Btw its fixed now.
Supper it works!!!
Low tire pressure or missing TPMS sensors will prevent u from turning off the VSA.
Robby Vanz What? Since when? lmao!
Dealer said if you run winter rims with no TPMS sensors, you won't be able to disable VSA. Maybe you got ripped off for a brake switch when all you had was low tire pressure. google it. Notice how the TPMS light is on in your vid.
Robby Vanz The TPMS light is definitely not on. And how would I get ripped off when it was covered under warranty?
they wont, the new blue is pretty nice, the old blue I liked, nd I wish it was mine, but it is my dads but I think he does trust me with it, going to take it when I go do the driving test.
@lucianodmn Great that u fixed it, but how did the line get unplugged???
UPDATED: The problem was a fault in the brake switch triggering the VSA light to come on. It was covered under warranty.
@jerzii9221 If your car isnt out of warranty they should fix it.
Thanks man. I will try that as soon as i can.
I didnt know it would make your car faster. Have you done it?
@madman1124 IDK if they will paint it. Idk bout u but i think the blue is awesome. Throw some tint and u got a badass whip.
Im not sure. The dealer did it for me... You can take it up to any Honda dealership and they will check it for you for free...
You are just supposed to press it once. I was turning it on and off at the end of the vid after i had restarted it.
@madman1124 Hell yeah man. Do they have the Mugen Fit up there?
great to hear, no we see if it gets fixed, fyi the new 2010 fit is going to arrive this week!!, miss the 2007 we had but hey the 2010 is better!
@AccountTT8 Well if i lose control of the car, the VSA would have not worked and i wouldl continue to lose control, because the problem was the VSA system that triggers the car to brake (aka brake swtich) when there is understeer, oversteer, and/or loss of traction. But i got it fixed, so everything is good now.
Yes, vtec worked. lol
no, fit is enough, and my parents want to get the new one (well insuance hos decided too, same price, more options, more fun :P) we would e getting the basic with cruise, air, and the new one has more power and heated mirrors!!! (quebec we need em :P), will do a small review video on it when I get a chance to take her out.
means you have a fuse blown or something like that
i have the same problem with my honda accord 2007 its doing the sane thing!!!! what i need to do??? plz tell me it star bugging me a lot!!
I have no idea, will try and remember to ask, i just saw the new hybrid, the insight, nice but it all looks like a civic from the front!! :P.
Dang man. What were u doing? Did you ride too much Gopeds?
hm, not sure how long the period is, but i just ran it really hard up and down a street a few times for a few minutes.
I have a 2007 si (stock) with 21000km and i have the same problem, but mine lights up the VSA, the (!), and the ABS lights! The dealership exchanged the ECU for a new one but notting changed! My car has a hid xenon kit and a satelite blocker. Sometimes, when i turn the lights on this problem appears. I think about xenon EMI rates... Anybody help me?
@randkprouductions It was the brake switch. Thanks anywayz.
@madman1124 If they have a Fit Mugen or a Sport you should get one. You can always make the Sport into a Mugen.
F**k the Insight. Go with a 2010 Prius if its a Hybrid u want.
i had the same problem with my 08 si i got under the car and i found the abs brake line was unplugged,(front passenger side) i put it back but i had to get the bolt it was missing so it wont come off again drove the car for 2 blocks the light went off since then i never had that problem again best of all i did not spent a dime to fix it.
i wish i had something to ride. no dirt bikes or nothing until i save up some holiday money or get a job. thank God i get my license on january second. my mom swapped insurance companies to save $800 a year. since she got her new company car, and it's free gas she makes us take it everywhere. and i still have my temps. she is switching companies and gets a 2010 ford taurus. much better than her shitty new sebring. i gotta drive it more often.
just push power on your radio, then it says enter code, and you just use the 6 numbers that you use for your radio stations
i took it to the dealership 2day they were booked up so they said they will fix it when i get back form belize because im leaving wednesday.
@lucianodmn Dang man that sucks. Glad u didnt crash.
@madman1124 Cool. Manual or Auto?
lol, yea I dont think they will get the sprts model, they have the right one waiting for us only thing is my mom is mad that the blue is darker, she now wants them to paint it :P
its one of the wheel sensors... I broke one of mine on accident installing coilovers and had the same issue, find the bad sensor and you are in luck
@belizetj u tried to do alot of burn outs with vsa on..right?
@madman1124 When i get back to the US Honda said they will fix it.
@classystylez Tried it. The prob was the brake switch triggering the VSA light to come on.
@yosuapartogi I did. The problem was the brake switch.
Yeah i have a little card with it and everything, but how do you put it in?
oh yeah, your car will ask for the radio code when you do that, you can find it under the lid on your fuse box.
@jerzii9221 No prob. Let me kno what they did bout it.
I have the same problem, but am going to try to fix it myself. Where are the Brake switch and VSA switch located and how can I tell if they are good?
fix what? the vsa problem? or the radio code?
@streetlunatic008 If u watch the whole vid with the annotations on or read the description at the bottom of the vid i wrote, There was a fault in the Brake Switch triggering the VSA light to come on. I took it up to Honda and they fixed it under warranty.
Its part of the VSA that tells the brakes when to come on when there is loss of traction.
@ello34 I look at it this way. "If it was made by man, it broke , then it could be fixed by man."
@desimunda116 yes hold button 10 sec untill beep
any luck on the problem mate?
Cool. How do u put the radio code in?
i drove my civic for the first time in weeks. it showed since i grinded a couple gears downshifting.
How did you get this fixed?
i have the same problem
What kinda car do u have?
right on
@dilirent I think you shouldnt buy the cars you cant handle without ESP. And civic one of the easiest...
@jhow84 Go to the honda dealership.
The VSA problem.
@jerzii9221 How much are u over 36k? If its less than 37k they will still fix it. Or the guys, at the dealership you took it to, are being dicks.
@madman1124 The Sport comes with the paddle shifters. You dont know how to drive a stick? lol. Im in Belize. Im going back to FL on Thursday. Im bored so im in town at an internet cafe checking my mail, because if i dont ill have like 20 million when i get back.
Hey bro so how did you get your car fix?
whats VSA stands for? :/
abs light on civic si 2006
@ello34 Thanks. I fixed it. :D
@dorymnd Vehicle Stability Assist
@desimunda116 no
auto :(, my mom (who wont e driving it much if at all) wants auto, though they have the trip tronic with paddle shifters that would be nice, I have not had practice on a manual transmission, only driven one car for an hour in a parking lot, anyways auto is fine for it, she is a peppy little thing and the new one is even more, if you are not in the us where the hell are you?, and of all things you could be doign your on youtube :P,
man looks like u mess up the car
@dilirent Nope. Im smart enough to turn it OFF. :)
Look at your avitar and you will see the real dumbass in a v-neck
You have to hold the VSA button down. Not just press it.
