  • If you want to pass the GED Reasoning through Language Arts test, you need to know what to study. In this first video of a four video series about what to study to pass the GED RLA exam, I give an overview of the six core skills in the reading for meaning category that you'll need to score 145 and earn your GED high school equivalency credential. Since the RLA test is primarily a test of your ability to comprehend what you read and draw conclusion, this category is very important. I also provide some suggestions about how to improve your reading comprehension skills so that you can read at the level required for this exam.

    I did score 135 and i was so sad and disappointed for not passing after 3 weeks of studying 😢, this is extra hard for me because English is not my 1st language and reading is not my strong side but I think this is good for me, I've been learning a whole bunch of new English vocabulary, so I will keep trying until I can pass it, thank you for your videos, you are giving us a good guide!

    Hi! I'm practicing for my GED to see where I am before I get enrolled in, but I wanted to ask do you do any presentations or reading out loud to people on this subject for going face to face? Or do you just go,sit, and pay attention?

    • @michellerevisited
      @michellerevisited  Před rokem

      If you’re asking about the test, it’s all multiple choice questions with one written essay. If you’re asking about classes, they may be run differently depending on where you are and what resources are available, the number of students in the class, etc. You should ask the program you are planning to enroll in how their classes are structured. Good luck!

      @@brandons334 You could! You are most likely in the likely to pass zone there. Just keep in mind that's not a guarantee that you'll pass - the real test is twice as long - but you should be in a pretty good position.

    Do you get to use the practice test more than once when you pay for it?

    • @michellerevisited
      @michellerevisited  Před rokem

      You need to pay for the GED Ready test each time you attempt it, but the cost is not high. Start with the free sample questions on the ged.com website and in a prep manual, and then when you are feeling ready try the GED Ready. It gives you good advice about what you need to do to pass if you’re not there yet.

      There are a lot of things that the grading algorithm considers, including length, general spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, and sentence structure, and citing of text evidence among others. You can still receive some points even if your essay is incomplete.

    Is it possible to take the AP exam without the GED ?

    • @michellerevisited
      @michellerevisited  Před 2 lety

      AP exams are for high school students before graduation - so you wouldn’t need to take the GED to take them. The goals of the exams are different - colleges often award credits for general ed courses for each AP exam passed with a 4 or 5 (this depends on the university), whereas the GED exams are taken to earn the high school equivalency credential (i.e. instead of graduating from high school if a student has dropped out).
