It's really not that bad of a movie. I work at the theater and everyone loved it with their family. It was mainly targeted for kids and a simple fun summer movie. Chill out.

It is a robot that belongs to the military. It’s not abused, the bullet holes are from them trying to shoot it after it escaped. They were defending themselves.
This would have been good in the 80s. I'll probably still watch it, and pretend I'm 9 years old again. That should work.

Just watched the film today and I’ve gotta say, it was actually really enjoyable. Of course there were a few corny bits here and there but aside from that, outstanding. Make me wanna have my own A.X.L now, looks really badass.

It was actually entertaining. I was surprised I ended up watching the whole movie. Special effects were great and acting was also up there. The story was lacking a bit, but overall, I think it's a good movie.

I really enjoyed it. I took it as a Bumblebee/Short Circuit/ET type movie and of course it works brilliantly in that aspect. I love the design of AXL, elements of Terminator, bit of Giger, and so well done. Imagine a crossover with Terminator where T800s on the devastated futuristic battlefield go on on patrol to find human outposts with AXL machines! Be a neat counterpoint to the human resistance who have German Shepherds
In the comics they do have terminators that look like dogs that are for scouting

I didn't see the movie at the local theater, but when it had made the DVD and Blu-Ray release, I bought the DVD, watched it from the beginning to the end and I quite liked it myself, actually. I hope a sequel will be made.
Love this movie, this movie kept me hooked from beginning to end, something no other movie has done for me to date, will watch again, highly recomend watching this. Love it.

Not every movie has to be groundbreaking or oscar-worthy. I would watch a sequel but it doesn't needs a 3rd. Too often books and movies push to be a trilogy when they don't have the story to support it.

I saw this film and I gotta say, for a state of the art military protege AXL really sucks at killing anyone. He couldn’t get Miles at the beginning, he got defeated by a flame thrower, and he failed to kill Fontaine. Waste of military spending. But he is cute though.

I just watched this movie. It is now on Netflix U.S.A. and I think it was awesome. Excellent CGI work, good Buddy Buddy movie between a Dog and His Friend (Even though the dog is a machine) Fights the bad guys, gets the girl and all is well when the animal makes the ultimate sacrifice near the end and then story is left open for a sequel.

Just watched it, but it was way to mild... This was a military killing platform, yet we hardly saw any destruction.
The movie was toned down to be kid friendly. I think if there ever is a sequel, it should be more serious, more gory and more intense.

Oh no! I almost cried when they wanted to take him away. I couldn't see this movie it's too sad.
This kind of puts into perspective the big moral issue we're gonna have one day when we develop AI that can practically feel for itself. Half the world will be yelling to give them rights, and the other half will be screaming about the robot being in control and that they're feelings are fake and merely based on algorithms.
